Given the ever-decreasing impact of iTunes on the charts, thought it would be interesting to see how the iTunes #1s do officially:

01 Lewis Capaldi - Before You Go (1st - 3rd Jan)
01 Tones & I - Dance Monkey (4th - 8th, 11th Jan)
DNC The Wolfe Tones - Come out Ye Black and Tans (9th - 10th Jan)
DNC Dafydd Iwan ac Ar Log - Yma O Hyd (12th - 13th Jan)
01 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights (14th - 27th Jan, 28th Jan - 13th Feb, 26th - 27th Feb, 3rd - 12th Mar, 14th - 16th, 25th - 26th Mar, 29th Mar - 2nd Apr, 5th - 9th, 11th - 15th Apr, 12th - 14th, 16th - 19th May)
30 André Rieu & Johann Strauss Orchestra - Ode to Joy (28th - 29th Jan)
01 Billie Eilish - No Time To Die (14th - 20th, 22nd - 25th Feb)
21 BTS - ON (21st Feb)
05 Lady GaGa - Stupid Love (28th Feb - 2nd Mar)

09 Little Mix - Break Up Song (27th - 28th Mar)
34 Matt Lucas - Thank You Baked Potato (3rd - 4th Apr)
DNC Skerryvore - Everyday Heroes (10th Apr)
72 Vera Lynn & Katherine Jenkins - We'll Meet Again (16th April)
01 Michael Ball, Captain Tom Moore & The NHS Voices of Care Choir - You'll Never Walk Alone (17th - 22nd Apr)

03 Topic & A7S - Breaking Me (20th - 21st May)
01 Lady GaGa & Ariana Grande - Rain On Me (22nd May - 9th Jun, 13th - 18th Jun)
DNC Scott Gilhooly - Scott Gilhooly RIP Only You (feat. Terry Crouch) (10th Jun)

15 Little Mix - Holiday (24th - 25th Jul)
03 Nathan Dawe & KSI - Lighter (27th, 29th - 30th Jul, 2nd - 3rd Sep)
03 BTS - Dynamite (21st - 24th Aug)
17 Vera Lynn - Land of Hope and Glory (25th - 28th Aug)
14 Clean Bandit & Mabel - Tick Tock (ft. 24kGoldn) (29th Aug - 1st Sep)
10 Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky (4th, 8th Sep)
27 Sigala & James Arthur - Lasting Lover (5th - 7th Sep)
DNC Steps - What the Future Holds (9th - 10th Sep)

More official #1s here than I thought actually! But barring the recent hits (which may well climb higher) most of the songs in here are either Top 10s or non-hits with not too much in-between.

It's kind of interesting just to look back at the list of iTunes #1s - funny to see how it keeps oscillating between genuinely big hits and flash in the pan political / charity / BTS songs laugh.gif

Definitely! Part of the reason I did this was to look back on all the flash-in-the-pan songs I forgot existed. I do remember the Scott Gilhooly one being at #1 as it felt like a completely random song to get there but there are some like the Skerryvore one and the two BTS songs I completely forgot existed laugh.gif

We seem to be in a period now where the two streaming behemoths aren't setting the iTunes chart alight so we could easily be getting some more 'random' songs at #1 in the weeks to come.

Yeh MOST big number ones still do well on iTunes especially if they’re ‘pop’

What is a Skerryvore? I must have completely missed that at the time.

An NHS charity single I believe, it was out of the Top 10 within 4 days so I don't blame you for missing it.
