So the new series of BGT kicks off tonight at 8pm, usual place. Ant & Dec return as hosts and the judging panel remains the same for a 4th straight season. The golden buzzer also returns which grants an act a guaranteed place in the Semi-Finals when pressed by a judge/the hosts. Anyone a fan of this here? I always enjoy the series & probably prefer it to the X Factor overall. Are there any particular type of acts you'd like to see win this year? I really wanted Darcy Oake to win it last year for a bit of variety as the winners always tend to be singing/dancing acts. |

Debating whether to even bother with this... This is probably double standards given I still love Big Brother and X Factor but it's so dull and predictable now. I'll probably just watch it simply because it's on when nothing much else is

This has been rather great so far! The Ant attacking dog and the singing dog were both brilliant. I didn't catch the beginning of the latter and just assumed it was a puppet - was gobsmacked when it walked off at the end!

The "dog vs. Ant" thing had me laughing harder than I have in ages Amazing, quality TV. The talking dog was a fantastic act though, left me gobsmacked!

CALLUM *.* (looks wise, voice was good but nothing AMAZING)
So cliche though, knew that was coming. Especially after she wasn't through. I felt sorry for her, she was basically scapegoated to build him up more really. They didn't even give her a chance - had to laugh at "you didn't get into it!". She had like two lines of Jessie Ware and like 20 seconds of U2... |

That quality in that performance was clearly down to the choice of song *.*

Hmm, he was alright but if I asked every person in my town centre to sing I could probably find about ten of him, I don't think I'd find ten of those skaters or the dog who lip synced..

I thought he was fantastic and I always appreciate when people perform songs in different arrangements to the original versions. His tone was incredible and to me he looks and sounds more like a star than the likes of Ben Haenow and Stevie McCrorie!

He was good, but not anything exceptional. A vast improvement on his sister though.

I think he missed the point of ventriloquism.

Well barring that rather abject last performance there were some genuinely great acts tonight. Those roller skaters were amazing and the choir were rather excellent also. That talking dog act was good now but now we've all seen it once I don't think it'll be as good the next time.
Just an observation I've noticed down the series they tend to fill the first auditions show with some of the overall favourites so I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the choir, the skaters, that guy who got the golden buzzer and the talking dog all in the final. |
