Pretending the 2003 total was just from pre-1994 sales, its to-date total would be 1.52m. Given the OCC revealed its total sales to be 1.55m as of April 2019, they must have revised the 2003 total. 'Highway to Hell' was certified Gold 16 months ago in February 2018, suggesting sales of ~3.1k a week. It was certified Silver in March 2016, which would suggest ~2.2k between then and going Gold. It originally peaked at #56 in 1979, then a live version reached #14 in 1992, re-entered at #40 in December 2012 after AC/DC's back catalogue was added to iTunes and finally peaked at #4 in December 2013 following a Christmas #1 campaign. 'Year 3000' sold 160k in 2003; 440k sold since. 'Turn Up the Music' sold 274k in 2012; 126k sold since. 'A Little Bit of Luck' sold ~240k by the end of 2000; ~160k sold since. 'American Boy' sold 460k in 2008; 740k sold since. 'Don't Stop Believin'' originally peaked at #62 in 1982 (about 12k sales). When it re-entered the Top 75 in April 2009, it had just passed 100k downloads. Downloads increased to 185k in November 2009 when it peaked at #19 after being performed on X Factor. It was performed again the following month, pushing the song into the Top 10. It completed 2009 with 249k sales (324k downloads in total) and sold a further 435k in 2010 (759k downloads in total) where it peaked at #6, given extra exposure thanks to the cast of Glee's successful cover. The inclusion of streaming in the chart in July 2014, with all previous streams from 2014 added to song totals, meant that 'Don't Stop Believin'' automatically became a million seller. It was certified 2x Platinum in July 2016, which suggests it sells ~4.3k a week in the 35 months that have passed. Total sales stand at 1.812m. 'Sunrise' sold 98k in 2003; 102k sold since. 'Here Comes the Sun' debuted at #64 in November 2010 after The Beatles' back catalogue was added to iTunes. It peaked at #58 in April 2012 after Gary Barlow's cover was used in an M&S advert - at this point, it had sold 46,208 downloads, making it the 5th most downloaded song by The Beatles (see below). It reached Silver in November 2016 and Gold in June 2018 - 54 weeks after going Gold, it is selling ~3.7k a week. It's Silver certification confirmed it had become The Beatles most downloaded song and it remains well out in front. The other four tracks mentioned below have all been certified Silver, but none Gold. QUOTE The four tracks that made the Top 75 that very first week remain the Beatles’ four biggest sellers digitally. They are: Hey Jude (68,309), Let It Be (67,185), Twist And Shout (48,029) and Here Comes The Sun (46,208). There is a big gap to the fifth biggest seller, Come Together (27,654). 'World of Our Own' sold 195k in 2002; 205k sold since. Arctic Monkeys - AM: Year End Positions & Sales 2013: 499k (#8) 2014: 281k (#18) 2015: 94k (#66) 2016: 90k (#68) 2017: 89k (#79) 2018: 107k (#52) 2019: 40k Performance & Cocktails sold 1.046m in 1999, 301k in 2000 and 129k in 2001 (1.476m in total); 324k sold since. Its sales were 1.758m as of March 2013, suggesting sales of 100-150 copies a week. |

If we're all living underwater by then I doubt there'd be much consumption of music, especially music that was recorded a millennium earlier.
At the rate it's selling though it could easily hit multi-platinum within our lifetime though. |

maybe the 200k is from digital sales only? but I think that would be too high.
it has a few million spotify streams but not nearly enough for 200k worth of streaming sales. |

Kind of surprised that Pon De Replay is "only" Platinum as I'd imagine Rihanna's streams are high, but I guess it's down to there not being any official "hits" compilation from her? I imagine if there was it would speed things up for it.
