Dress You Up/Material Girl/Like a Virgin! They're all fun, light, catchy pop songs and this is the first album where you can really see Madonna coming into her own. It's not one of my favourite albums of hers but the highs are really high (all three of these would probably be in my all-time Madonna top 10 )

1. Into The Groove
2. Dress You Up 3. Like A Virgin This was a lot harder than the debut album. My number 3 could have been Over and Over or 😇. |

01 Into The Groove
02 Material Girl 03 Like a Virgin Or maybe I should have put Dress You Up at 03, ne'ermind. The rest of the album is absolutely terrible. |

'Love Don't Live Here Anymore', 'Into the Groove' and 'Dress You Up' (albeit the Celebration edit) for me.
Like a Virgin improves on her debut; it's got a glossier, poppier sound and I agree with Josh that it seems Madonna is starting to come into her own. I love the introduction of her classic, strained, emotive vocal, particularly prominent in 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore'. I know 'Shoo-Bee-Doo' was voted one of her worst here last year, but I think it's really sweet! |

...actually only Into The Groove is essential on the whole thing. :/ Yes same her, Material Girl is just cringeworthily materialistic whereas Like A Virgin was just a shock track because of the risque lyrics and title. I don't know any of the others on the album. This post has been edited by HissingSparkler: 14th October 2017, 01:27 PM |

I voted for Dress You Up & Angel as they're just gorgeous.
And then I didn't know whether to go for Into The Groove or Material Girl. I think Into The Groove has the edge....but it was never on my vinyl LP back in the day, and I only found it on (remastered) CD a couple of months ago and I was surprised to see that it isn't on that either - and so must be punished by giving my 3rd vote to Material Girl. |

Yeah, I thought everyone, today at least, was aware 'Material Girl' is satire. 'Like a Virgin' is tongue-n-cheek too.

Dress You Up, Into The Groove and Material Girl for me. Like A Virgin and Love Don't... are cute but apart from that there isn't much I go back to on this album
