(promo cover)

The fourth single from Troye's critically acclaimed debut album Blue Neighbourhood has seemingly been confirmed as HEAVEN, which features Betty Who! wub.gif An absolute STUNNER of a song, incredibly emotional and relatable for me. One of the best on what is probably one of my all-time favourite albums.

Noooo. Nowhere near one of my faves! 'LOST BOY' really should've been pushed sad.gif Not that this is a bad song (coz it isn't) it's just that he has a lot better on his album, for me.

Why shouldn't he be trying? unsure.gif Considering a general lack of commercial support, this era's done pretty well and the reviews have been amazing. Wouldn't surprise me if they're targeting this mainly at Australia (where he's had much more success, and Betty Who's had a big hit there recently too).

This is probably my favourite out of what's left, either this or DKLA, so I'm really delighted it's getting a push. Such a relevant topic to sing about too cry.gif

Yay! I'd assumed a video wasn't going to materialise, so this is great news. Troye coming to save January 20th. *.*

YAAS at this being a single, it's gradually been revealing its charms more and more to me over the last few months. Probably my favourite song of his right now.

Stunning video for a stunning song. I'd love it if this could somehow go viral and turn the song into the huge hit it really deserves to be wub.gif

What a video! Everyone else may as well not bother, Troye has won 2017.

'Lost Boy' is one of my ultimate favourites from the album too, he sounds so vulnerable on it, would've loved for that to be pushed / received a video. cry.gif

Blue Neighbourhood feels like the sort of album that should have received a complete visual accompaniment a la Beyonce's last two albums. I know there was the trilogy of videos that told a story, but it would probably have worked for the full album too.

'HEAVEN' has a beautiful video; very powerful imagery but it's not over the top or confrontational or whatever - that works in some cases but it's just not appropriate to this particular song. The balance and execution is just right here. The song itself is a great example of an accessible pop song portraying an important message - that hook of "Without losing a piece of me, how do I get to heaven? So if I'm losing a piece of me, maybe I don't want heaven?" appears simple and straightforward but carries such depth and spurs so many thoughts. That's what I love about pop music; that ability to push important messages to the biggest possible audience whilst ensuring you've got a well-rounded, catchy song.
