Normally they only do 2 songs each when there's 5 acts left so big change this year.
BUT I really want to see Only The Young sing Something About The Way You Look Tonight as they did in their audition, they've still got nowhere near that so far since.

Oh good God. Only Andrea can even remotely attempt Whitney. Fleur will be ok with Million Dollar Bill or My Love Is Your Love or something like that too. I dread to imagine Ben growling through a Whitney ballad though :/ Lauren, whilst I love her, doesn't have the pipes either.

The thought of sitting through 7 Whitney songs is terrifying tbh, I'm not a huge Whitney fan but don't mind when she sings them but most other people singing them is usually painful.

That song is way too big for Fleur vocally. Like your other suggestions, although I think "Circle of Life" could be a bit strange for Stereo Kicks if Brian goes all out with them for it. Imagine them holding Charlie up whilst singing the song.
For Ben, they could go with "Could I Have This Kiss Forever?". Enrique features prominently so he could just do his vocals, plus the song would be a good one for him to get his top off.
I also think "Bennie & The Jets" could really suit Ben's voice too for the Elton choice.

This will be the 3rd week i'm not watching. Same old rubbish - I don't mind some of Elton but there's only one WH song I like and that's One Moment In Time.
Even with EJs vast catalogue they'll probably do the same few songs as last year which I don't think are his best apart from Your Song.

To be honest, I think OTY should do 'Something About The Way You Look Tonight', their audition song, bring back some of that acoustic magic that we love from them!

It's definitely only one song each this week by the way I think. The ITV voiceover earlier said something like "will the contestants choose Elton or Whitney" implying that they are only doing one of them, and also there is only one set of iTunes pre-orders up - not two.
Also, the man who shouts 'Only The Young' during the results is all over the internet - hopefully this will get them some extra hype and support!

I dunno. At first I thought Andrea was the show's golden child, but now all the pimping seems to be given to Fleur. Now I don't know how well she's performing in the voting, but I think if Andrea finds himself in the bottom with Lauren/Fleur/Ben he would be gone. That's the thing. I doubt she's flying high in the voting yet, but the producers clearly want her to do well. They need someone who can be commercially successful this year.

In the context Fleur's song choice, I think it makes sense for her to have women from her life on stage. Plus who's actually going to care that she has her family on? Nobody will be like "oh look, Fleur's mum is on stage so we must vote for her, even though I normally wouldn't!"

Yes, because it was all we ever heard from Jay when he was on the show, from one VT to another. Fleur hasn't once gone on about her family or tried to make a story out of them, so to finally share a moment on stage with her family isn't really that great a deal?

Tbh I think it'll be nice for Fleur to have some family members on stage. As long as they don't make the entire VT before the performance about her family or her family hog the mic when dermot goes over to talk to her (they better just walk off the stage and not hang around). I'm just worried that Fleur's vocals will be very exposed in the performance.

It was subtly beautiful to start off with but then didn't go anywhere... for me that song always needs to be killer on the final chorus, but it fell flat for me.

Jesus Christ that was AWFUL. Worst version of that song I have ever heard :/ If Fleur or Lauren sang it that badly, they'd be slaughtered and pretty much certs to go. I can't. He is going to walk this if he's fine after this performance.

Ben Haenow - Completely agree with Mel B for once, not enough light and shade in the song. He sounded great in the verses but the chorus was weak for me. Shame as Ben has so much more to give than that. - 7.0/10.0

It is ok if you can make a song sound completely different, but X factors definition of 'your own' seems to be slowing it down or pulling out of notes because your voice cant hit them.

It's alright if it's something that suits the acts, but I hated Paul's arrangement of Don't Stop Me Now for example. Sometimes I think they use the whole changing up a song thing to bus people

Not their best for me... It doesn't work for me when put together fully like this, it was better how it was arranged at their audition imo. It was good enough, but they can do a lot better and they needed a lot better. The thing I do love is the fun they being - the show definitely needs that

I think I preferred their room audition version, this just seemed to bob along and although it was slick and well rehearsed. We need something where they actually sing something slower and try to show off some proper vocals.
Simon's praise not the most help is it basically saying they would have been in danger before that performance.

They're definitely my favourites now, took a while for me to get it but now I get it, I COMPLETELY get it and love it... some of Parisa's vocals were a bit flat, I felt, but altogether, great, fun performance.
As for Andrea, that could've been better than it was BUT I really like that he didn't oversing it. If it had've been bigger, I think he'd have been criticised for doing a typical belty Andrea performance - but it was great restrained and then great when he got into his stride.

That felt a bit flat to me? Not flat as in vocally, flat as in he didn't seem all there and he could've given a lot more. Given he's performed songs like Summertime and And I Am Telling You, he should've had no trouble with that... He didn't falter vocally, but idk it just wasn't all there for me. He can do way better, but luckily he'll be fine given his stance in the competition. It was very much like his last Whitney performance of One Moment In Time, he got lost in the song sadly.

One of my least favourite Fleur performances. The vocals were decent, but when she went for the high notes they sounded quite bad and they left out the really big part of the song which makes it imo. 6/10

Agreed. She's a poor man's Alexandra Burke imo. She can perform quite well and sing decent, but she's not pulling out mind blowing/amazing performances. Just look back at some of the previous amazing performances we've had on the show and you can see the big diffeerence in talent of this year's bunch compared to other years. I think this year's lot is the weakest set of finalists the show has had for a while.

That was a bit better than they've been for the past couple of weeks, but it was still boring. It's like one of those charity singles where they sing a little bit each but it's never enough of the song... The guy on the end with the red jacket and anteater face as Dermot talked to them is like the Rita Ora (in Band Aid) too, he's always way louder and shoutier than the others.

I don't think I'm particularly bad for doing this, given they were my 2nd favourites on Halloween week and my favourites do often alternate so maybe I'm not best to post this but I find performances like that completely boring and personality-less. I don't hear the so called harmonies, it just sounds like a really loud backing track to mask the fact they're all actually singing just about the same note, and most of the solos were weak there for me.

Fleur won't be anywhere NEAR the bottom 2 imo - I'm quite certain it'll be Stereo Kicks and Stevi. Perhaps Lauren as she was against Strictly but even so I think she'll be fine.

Tbh OTY haven't amazed me the past two weeks but they were at least more enjoyable and fun than all of the others. Kind of annoyed SK are still there because I alway knew they'd somehow be the last group remaining but Stevi :/ he was decent in last weeks singoff but no baby no at tonight. He should've gone.

I think X factor have caught on the FB likes have been far too accurate in predicting things thus far and have deliberately messed things up last night.
They took forever to upload certain ones after Lauren, leaving gaps of like 30 mins, which will negatively impact on the ones waiting to be uploaded as I'd expect the most likes are given to them in the 10-15 mins after the performance. So for instance Andrea's was uploaded after people performing after him had been on TV and sang.
Tbh I'm surprised it took them this long to do something about the FB likes being a huge indicator of things.

Just caught up. Very mixed bag. Only The Young were weak compared to their usual standards so i can understand why they were bottom (a shame it was an automatic elimination, as they may have survived if it was was a normal bottom two )
Stereo Kicks and Fleur were my favourites of the night. Fleur was a budget Alexandra Burke act but even budget Burke is AMAZING so i still loved it. Stereo Kicks were very 90's R&B boyband and they pulled it off wonderfully.
Very much this. And in particular for the boyband as John said. Seems like they could pull everything out of the bag and some will still sniff their noses at them just because they are a boyband.
