Im kinda disappointed if that is the case as i dont generally enjoy that type of music, im really starting to slightly worry im not going to enjoy this album at all.
I'm not a massive swing fan, but I'm not a massive fan of latin pop either and I love Elita!
I like elita but not sure about an album of it, if true it will mean we have a Latin single and a swing single, hard to call album direction from that.
The new album from what we know of gives me Take That Wonderland vibes which isn't necessarily a compliment.

Yeah I think it’s definitely going to be a swing song, he’s performed a lot of swing sets and swing versions of old songs over the last few years. So direction wise, I think he has a clear road here and I’m looking forward to hearing what he’s got, I’m sure there’s some ballads on it too - he did mention how he understood fans do like the ballads they do and that there hasn’t been too many of them in recent material

Fits in very well for a Strictly performance but leaves me unexcited for it, im actually debating holding off buying the album straight off, usually i would be buying automatically but not so sure this time around. I have said this with recent Take That releases aswell i really miss the days when i was hugely excited for a take that or gary release, there was a a long run where i just loved everything they released but thats slipping away and i miss it.
They try to re-invent themselves. They know that the fans will always go to live performances as TT as well as Robbie have a certain reputation.
However the non-fan perception to buy music has dramatically decreased. If I only compare the Progress times with every single TT or Gary release since then in non-UK or Ireland countries it is a shame. They are rich enough though that they can experiment ...and hope that they hit the taste of the general buying public again. The same for all established artists.

I’m not wildly over the moon about swing but Robbie did swing well on Swings Both Ways so maybe I’ll like it. I LOVE Elita. It is one of my favourite singles of the last few months

For me, Gary has a voice for huge tunes and ballads. I don't think he fits swing. The song as such is great....with Michael Buble singing it

It is a good song for that type of marketing and will go down well on strictly if he can perform but it's not the type of song to do much chart wise. I'm really on the fence about buying the album now, il def be holding off buying it until I listen to the tracks online. If I continue to not really enjoy the music il wait to buy it when it's going cheap just to have for collection purposes.
The Argos advert is set to release tomorrow! I wonder what happened to those rumours last year that Take That would star in the M&S advert?

I am not a big fan of swing either, but I LOVE Incredible. It's already stuck in my head. Personally, I am very excited about this album, cause, so far, I have been loving both singles. I am actually ok now with Gary and TT experimenting a bit more, cause I have been looking at other artists' progression over time and it's really boring to always be offered the same things. Even though we may not like everything Gary puts out, at least he keeps us guessing and he gives us diversity. I'd rather be surprised - positively or negatively - than bored. I have listened to Sam Smith's latest offerings and they certainly are no different from what he's done in the past. I'm sure Gary has some ballads on the album, that will satisfy the hardcore fans, but I believe he's releasing the right songs as singles, so far. From the comments I've seen, people enjoy the more uptempo, happy songs. You can't deny they're incredible
It is more a question if you want to see him/TT be successful. The majority of hard core fans do not like the changes and for the general public TT or even Gary are interesting live. If they buy an album is another question.
I want to see him enjoy making music and performing. If being successful means puting out sex garbage like Ariana Grande, I'd rather he weren't successful. I admire people passionate about something, nut just chasing fame and money. If success comes from what Gary puts out, that's a bonus, if not, at least he has his dignity left.

But Dare is not swing, is it? I couldn't compare these 2 songs. cause they sound very different to me.

Milly, I am not following it in that detail, but when you say Elita opens a new market for Gary....does it pay off? Does Elita chart in these new markets?
I think it is a question in what you want: sell records or sell music. When artists like Gary, TT or Robbie have reached the almost legend status rarely a new kind of music outside of their core fans comfort zone pay off in records sell.
The last time it happened was Candy which most Rob fans hated but the general public loved. Only being interested and not buying is not really helpful in reference of success. Then it is only about a different style of music.
I agree in many of your thoughts, Milly. However artist want to be successful. Fans want their artists to be successful, at least this is what I want with the few I really like. Artists need to earn money, they do not earn money with album sales if they are not Adele. So it is about tours. I see that tours of Gary or TT did never sell somewhere outside UK or Ireland at least not to their standards. I wonder if this will be different because I do a song which sounds like a certain target group. Will he sell in Russia if he sings Russian?
There had been lots of Russian comments underneath Party like a Russian of Robbie. This did not make the song a success. Do Gary, TT or Rob still want success? I am sure. I think the success of Gary's album will show after the ITV special and I think this will pay off for him
I think Gary would still want his solo music to be successful, he often talks about the lack of success for 12 months so i doubt he wants to ever experience that again. I understand some of the points though and Gary does like to be creative and there is no doubt he has been very creative with this album but whether people will appreciate the creativity is out of his hands.

As much as I hope the Argos ad helps it, I hope I don't see the ad too much and the song gets ruined for me like many other ads have done 
It's strange elura has pretty much stated ahead incredible mist of the time since its release, I think incredible is the wrong song to perform on Graham Norton.

Incredible if you like that style of music is a type of song that could sell an album, so while it wouldn't be a song to trouble the charts it could translate into album sales.
I wonder if he will do Elita solo, or have video vocals from MB and SY

Impressed by Incredible’s longevity, but despite being top 15 so far this week, it’s nowhere to be seen on the top 100 update. I hate streaming. It’s completely out of kilter and accounts for too much of the chart weighting
