Chart Commentary
This week's chart is posted a day early due to me going on holiday tomorrow, and whilst I will still have internet access and my online activity won't change, it is easier for me to post it today! Nothing is different because I normally type up my chart on a Friday night anyway, in a basic Word document form, before formatting and posting on Saturday.  This time last year, Major Lazer only had one hit, a minor one at that from their song Lean On, a collaboration with DJ Snake and MØ. In the year since then, they've achieved the biggest #5 hit in the history of my chart with Light It Up, and now a #1 single with Cold Water as it climbs 13 places to #1. Justin Bieber on the other hand, is no stranger to #1s, as this week he notches up a sixth chart topper, his first dating back to 2012's Boyfriend. Cold Water is Justin's 36th chart hit, the highest for any artist in my chart. MØ has come closer to the top spot than Major Lazer, with a #2 hit featuring on Iggy Azalea's Beg For It, but also reaches a new high. She achieved two top 20 hits in the same week last week, Cold Water being one of them, and her new solo single Final Song being the other. Alongside the aforementioned climb for Cold Water, Final Song jumps 19-4, this week's highest climber, to give her a third and fourth top 10 hit in the same week. Also getting their first top 10 hit this week are rappers Leikeli47 and Dreezy, who feature on the new AlunaGeorge single Mean What I Mean. The song is the second top 10 hit (out of only two chart hits) for the vocal/production duo. The highest new entry this week comes from JoJo, whose new single Fuck Apologies. becomes the second song in this week's chart to contain the f-word in its title  the other coming from last week's highest new entry from Banks. I will touch on JoJo more next week when the Wiz Khalifa-collaboration has had a full week to impact, rather than less than 24 hours.Other new entries come from Pitbull, Colbie Caillat, James Bay and Years & Years, all of whom have had previous top 10s (and even #1s in the case of the latter two), although we still have one chart debut this week. Norwegian singer Dagny debuts at #33 with new single Fool's Gold, marking her first appearance on my chart. Featured artist BØRNS, however, had a top 5 hit with Electric Love last year. |

It's a shame to see most of my favourites are falling, The Chainsmokers, Fifth Harmony, Ariana & Katy Perry. M.O climbing is good to see. I'm really liking this one even though I wasn't keen on their other songs. The Olly Murs song is growing on me too. Great chart

Thankfully most of those songs have had good runs at least, Katy's suffering from so much new music right now that I'm finding it hard to share out my attention between them all! Glad you're liking the M.O song, it's so good, way better than any of their older songs that I've heard! Olly's song is contending for his best actually, having a decent run here so far going by most of his singles! Fabulous #1! I'd probably already consider it as my second favourite Justin song, behind Sorry. Yaaaas at us sharing the Top 2, but swapped *we have excellent taste, it's official*  Katy flopping, the poor cow x Excellent chart overall, so many faves.
