Welcome to the first round of Buzzjack The Idols. These 5 artists have been picked by me for you all to discover/rediscover. I have picked artists and songs of theirs that I really love and hope you love too.
You can vote for as many as you want from each section and the winning song from each artist will be submitted to the final.

Not voting yet as I want to familiarise myself with the songs I don't know but I love what I know from all of these artists! wub.gif

lol I saw the signup thread and thought I could consider entering, but wasn't sure how it would work on first reading (something like AF Idol but with 50 artists per round?? surely not) and needed to think what artists I could submit (I would've thought all of these bar Saara Aalto were far too well-known). I didn't realise it would be finished an hour later laugh.gif

Will edit my votes here later after I listen to the ones I don't know.

Dami Im - 'Gladiator' (really loved this in 2014), and also throwing a vote to 'Super Love'. I like 'Alive' too; not as big a fan of the later ones, though 'Sound Of Silence' served its purpose well
Gabrielle Aplin - 'Miss You' (of all the artists who went 'time to release a tropical house/pop song!!!!', this must be one of the most impressive), 'Waking Up Slow' and 'The Power Of Love'
Nina Nesbitt - 'The Moments I'm Missing' wub.gif and 'Loyal To Me'! Those are easily my favourites so I'm voting just them, but I really like 'Colder' too and the other 2 recent ones grew on me a lot over time. I liked 'Way In The World' and 'Selfies' most from her pre-2017 stuff but I prefer the recent ones anyway.
Christina Perri - 'Jar Of Hearts'
Saara Aalto - 'Monsters', but I liked the others more than I expected

This is a cool idea! I don't really understand how it'll pan out though - I'd be happy to join if I'm able to?

Regardless, I voted:
Sound of Silence, Gladiator - queen!
Please Don't Say You Love Me, Waking Up Slow, The Power of Love - even though I'm voting her 2 biggest Australian hits this a good bunch of songs, I really like her voice (would also vote My Mistake which probably went under the radar as a late release last year!)
Colder heart.gif , Loyal to Me, The Best You Had, Chewing Gum - yay for Nina, she massively won me over last year with the first 2 songs & her second album this year being really well-rounded! (I hadn't heard Stay Out before this and it's quite nice, strange to hear her on something like that tongue.gif). Also justice for her Feed Me collab What It Feels Like which is brilliant / probably introduced me to her after Popjustice exposed me to it ~
A Thousand Years - holds up a bit better than Jar of Hearts for me, both solid
Monsters
