I know no wonder the chart remains so static!

ouch at Nico & Vinz' new single flopping despite being the most played on R2. Really shows how that station doesn't affect the chart I guess.
Labrinth doing well on Heart as expected with that type of song, could potentially give it a long chart run (All of Me top 2 after all this time though ) |

This is what I mean when I was saying if I were an artist I'd prefer Capital support over Radio 1 support. Capital you can get 60+ plays a week and be in high rotation for sometimes over a year (see: We Found Love, Moves Like Jagger ), compared to Radio 1 where you get 20+ plays a week and are in high rotation for a couple of months.
As a listener obviously Radio 1 is better as you don't hear the same songs all the time (and they're more willing to play "weirder" songs), but if you're an artist looking for a chart hit Capital FM is probably better if you had to choose one of the two. Labrinth doing well on Heart as expected with that type of song, could potentially give it a long chart run (All of Me top 2 after all this time though ) This is going back a bit, but it surprised me a lot at the time that Heart FM played Let The Sun Shine. They played Beneath Your Beautiful too, but that's not so surprising. This post has been edited by Eric_Blob: 1st December 2014, 06:00 PM |

Seems strange that Heart aren't playing George Ezra's new single, despite the previous two being played so much. Hopefully they'll latch on to it sooner rather than later.

This is going back a bit, but it surprised me a lot at the time that Heart FM played Let The Sun Shine. They played Beneath Your Beautiful too, but that's not so surprising. I do like it when an artist like Labrinth is able to crossover like that, especially as their initial aims are so humble. Your point about Capital is right too, its like they determine what will be "remembered" in years to come just by hammering certain songs |

At least Capital's playlist is a bit more varied in terms of genre at the moment. A year or so ago I had to listen to it at work all day and it seemed like non-stop dubstep and just gave me a headache. It was no different to Kiss.
