It's an excellent show - the original format debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe. It was devised by co-host Alex Horne (who I guess the producers didn't think was famous enough to host his own show, so they got Davies in)

Series 2 has been real fun so far - Richard Osman, Katherine Ryan, Jon Richardson, Doc Brown and Joe Willkinson all competing against each other in strange little tasks. The best one was "make a music video for a nursery rhyme in one hour".

Series 1 had Frank Skinner, Josh Widdecombe, Romesh Ranganathan, Roisin Conaty and Tim Key.

Taskmaster is one of my all time favourite shows. Haven't seen last night's yet but am enjoying the series. So far though, I'm not really 'getting' Katherine Ryan - I think Roisin was a lot more entertaining

I quite like Katherine Ryan, but yeah took me a while to warm towards her when she first started appearing on TV.

Tim Key is by far my favourite contestant, hope he pops up again in this series as Josh Widdecombe (current champ) guest starred in last night's episode.

Yes I enjoy it too, I like all the contestants, but some do stand out more. Lord Davies and support are fun.

Funny how Greg has stopped saying "five comedians" and now says "four comedians and Pointless co-host Richard Osman"

Favourite moment from the series?

Mine has to be the 'gift' task, however the bridge task with its twist was very clever.

I still think the music video for a nursery rhyme task was best of the series. Can't wait for series 3!

I absolutely love Taskmaster, and Greg Davies is up there with my favourite comedians. Probably just about preferred the first series, but this was great too. Would agree with Richie that the nursery rhymes were the best, Doc Brown's one moment of the series. Also thought the potato bridge task was excellent. And the entertain a mayor

IT'S BACK!

Being taken to task in the upcoming third series are Dave Gorman ( yahoo.gif ), Al Murray, Sara Pascoe, Paul Chowdhry and Rob Beckett.

Watched episode 1 last night - Rob Beckett and Al Murray are winning on the lateral thinking so far. Paul Chowdhry seems to be taking the Joe Wilkinson "crap but sometimes brilliant" role this time.

Can't wait for the next one, one of the best shows on TV!

I think it's odd with Paul Chowdhry - when I see him do stand up he seems really clever!

Wasn't so bothered about the cast for this one but I think they're the best yet which has made this my favourite series of the three. Rob Beckett was the only one I really liked beforehand, but they've all been fantastic. Need to separate Al from The Pub Landlord and Paul is simply hilarious

Series 4 and 5 commissioned with 8 episodes each

I like the fact that this series they've brought back the tasks that allow them to be creative (like the 'Launch the Pea' task and the clothes task from this week), there seemed to be a lack of that last series

Just started watching this and its brilliant! Its such a simple premise but that's what helps make the show really and it helps make it one of the funniest and most interesting shows around right now. Will need to catch up on the first two series too!

Those taking part in Series 4 have just been announced: Hugh Dennis, Noel Fielding, Joe Lycett, Lolly Adefope and Mel Giedroyc (from Mel & Sue fame). Not so sure who Lolly is but I think the others will all be interesting and perfect for the show. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing how Noel does!

Joe Lycett should be brilliant. Good to see they've got two female comics on this time rather than just one.

I can only echo the comments in this thread that this is a joy to watch, last nights was a little disappointing though as Dave Gorman constantly deceives and cheats plus Al Murray keeps basically just paying as much as he needs to in order to win each challenge...

Good series on the whole, some interesting tasks and great humour

On the lineup for the next series, I don't know how good Mel will be on it, I have my doubts. Also don't know who Lolly is but we'll see in time.
