It's alright. I wouldn't say really bad, I mean the beat is great but her delivery just sounds disinterested and leaves the track feeling a bit underwhelming.

Good lord, this is boring and repetitive.
I can't say I'm au fait with most of her stuff bar the obvious singles and KALA, but yeah, it just feels like I've heard this all before from her.

I was a huge fan of the 'Matangi' era and it's actually my 2nd favourite MIA album behind 'Kala' so this is just a continuation of top form for me. It's amazing, I can't get enough. The video should be a huge viral smash - so important!

omg at how incredible this is. if this wasn't released last year and i had just missed it i was going to say it is challenging formation for best song/video package of the year so far.

'Go Off' is good as always. Don't prefer it to 'Borders' on first listen (and probably never will) and doesn't match up to a few things off the last album but it's making me so excited for the new album anyway.
She's apparently going to leak it soon and is ranting about artists stealing her work..

This is definitely the most excited I've been for an M.I.A. album in a good while.
Everything we have heard so far has been superb, 'Bird Song' being the highest of the highs.

I love Freedun. All things are leading to this possibly being my second favourite album of hers. I've always loved her and still really enjoy MAYA and Matangi (the latter being massively underated I feel) I couldn't help feel that she has never really hit the heights of Kala, but came close sometimes.
That was until "Borders" came along which is probably the best thing shes done imo. Such an important song I think.

I completely agree with this especially how underrated Matangi is. It's my second favourite album from her by some distance. I'd probably rank MAYA last maybe but everything else I agree with completely. Matangi has so many moments!
I'm expecting this album to be incredible and expect no less.

Pretty much the same here. A much happier first listen then Matangi was for me. It's not perfect, and I'm not entirely happy with how many duds there are, but there's so much good stuff that I can see past that really easily. I might end up making a custom tracklist but not sure I'm comfortable doing that with M.I.A... I dunno.
I think Arular > Kala > AIM > MAYA > Matangi.

I'm disappointed 'Ali R U OK' has no relation to 'Smooth Criminal' whatsoever. I was hoping she'd have sampled or interpolated it in some way and just changed the name slightly. Alas. :')
I've got no idea how this matches up to her previous albums yet, I always find it so hard to rank them anyway. 'Kala' will forever be her best for me with 'Arular' a close second but after that I'm really not sure. I guess 'MAYA' would be last but I still absolutely love that if I'm in the right mood for it haha.

This isn't quite as amazing as expected based on the quality of the material released beforehand but it is still a great effort with loads of highlights. Such a shame it's her last ever album as well (supposedly).

This is not the way to go out. The album is very good don't get me wrong, but it has a fair bit of filler and wouldn't rank as a classic from her.
I am majorly falling in love with 'Freedun' though It's stunning.

I am liking this a bit more after repeated listens. 'Freedun', 'Foreign Friend' and 'Survivor' are really good along with the singles and the rhymes she delivers throughout 'A.M.P.' too <3 On the flip side 'Bird Song' is starting to annoy me and there is still filler ('Jump In' and a few others that I can't even remember how they go).
But on the whole, yeah i'm liking it more and I was worried I would just forget about it but I am finding myself returning a fair bit so that's good. Mainly for 'Freedun' tbh, that's grown leaps and bounds.

This album gets worse and worse with each listen for me. Hoping to god it's not her last album because what a damp SQUIB of a final album it would be. Some moments of genius as always, but I can't see myself returning to the majority of the album very often.
