9th July 2017

For the second week in a row, and the third chart-topper in a row, it's new at one - this time for Grace Slick's 1980 worldwide flop (but a minor chart hit for me) which I rediscovered a few years back and fell in love with big time, so around a 37 wait to reach the top of my charts. It was close though, as Adam lambert is still strong. Liam Gallagher gets 2 consecutive top 10's - it's like the old Oasis days!

After 10 weeks Despacito hits a new peak of 11, slow climbing which is appropriate given the title, and as a watched a large of crowd of English London Pride attendees swaying along in the street and not being able to sing the lyrics, it made even more sense why it's so popular. In at 14, another one that suddenly made sense to me once I heard it properly, French Montana being the highest new track to enter with Unforgettable, a great record.

Down t'bottom end, Blondie grab a 3rd chart entry of 2017, getting very close to 40 years of chart hits here, while Martine Mcutcheon is back 16 years since she last troubled my charts, and LeAnn Rimes a nearly as long 14 years. I do enjoy unexpected comebacks!

Hi Toffo, thanks for the comments, my new chart is even busier! laugh.gif

Yes, Grace is sort of musical theatre circus-styled drama rock orchestral, and nobody has heard of it before (bar me and Suedey) laugh.gif

Glad you like The Union, it didnt do as well as it deserved in the BJSC final sadly.... (but then neither did Grace)sad.gif

cheers!

Thanks Tombo!

Despacito is fab when a whole crowd gets into it at one go, quite a sight.

Sadly Disconnect doesn't seem to have clicked with many people, which is a shame and a surprise after such big hits.

cheers!

Thanks for the huge list AH and no worries about charting comments, I wish I had time to regularly comment on everyone's charts (especially yours) but I'm so short on leisure time these days, sadly, so just do a handful each week.

You're right about Martine, strikes me as a sort of Natalie Imbruglia wannabe that would have been huge back then, and I totally depend on you to promote Ciggies After Sex for me to chart the tracks laugh.gif

cheers!
