Ed Sheeran should be #1 for a 12th week, but will it be 'Shape of You' or 'Galway Girl' that comes out on top? New entries to the Top 40 could include Zayn's 'Still Got Time' (production by PARTYNEXTDOOR), Chris Brown's 'Privacy' and David Guetta's 'Light Up My Body' (with vocals from Nicki Minaj & Lil Wayne), whilst Martin Solveig's 'Places' may finally climb into the Top 40 and Take That's 'Giants' may re-enter, following promo on Saturday Night Takeaway and their new album release...

Speaking of which, Take That will be hoping to achieve their eighth number one album with Wonderland, but Ed Sheeran could also remain at #1 for a fourth week. Joining Take That in the Top 10 should also be James Blunt's The Afterlove, whilst other new entries may include Creeper's Eternity, In Your Arms, Jesus & Mary Chain's Damage & Joy, Steel Panther's Lower The Bar and Trey Songz's Tremaine The Album.

Damn sad.gif I hoped they'd get another #1 album but they're hardly as big as they were a decade ago, and they're doing well to still be as popular as they are to be fair.

oh that was fast...
well, Minty posted yesterday that TT was way ahead, he also posted TT should do >100,000... also that Zara is down to #30 :/

Will Take That topple Sheeran's album this week? They're off to a healthy start. Big day today with panic Mother's Day purchases as well.

Ed is probably good Mother's Day fodder too though.

Zara's heading down to around 30😳

@mintroyale Does a 6 digit debut seem possible for them?
@popboi1 Yes

They will no doubt have solid sales but I didn't ever expect them to shift 100k in their first week with this album, more in the 80k-90k sort of bracket.

I wouldn't even be surprised if Drake overtook.

EDIT: Posted before seeing the above post. Good on them if it seems likely they'll shift 100k+, even if Ed Sheeran does overtake, but I still wouldn't be shocked to see them under the mark.

Yeah to be honest I was expecting 60k at best before seeing the opening day's 67k sale, which caught me off guard as I haven't seen much hype for this release!

Clear run now for Divide to equal the initial eight consecutive weeks at the top that Multiply achieved.

If Take That fail to knock Ed Sheeran off number one I'm not sure anyone will until at least late April when the new Gorillaz and Kasabian albums comes out

67k is a great start for Take That (although I'm sure they are very frontloaded) - thought they would do that in total for the week, fair play to them. I would say they will slow during the week prob just make 100k overall.

Album sales have been holding up well this year - albeit with some huge releases!

Here for Steps to come thundering in on the 21st to dethrone him tongue.gif

It won't happen, unless everyone else's album sales are down to around 15k by then, but it would be so amazing.

I think Steps could do up to 40k...!

I would imagine that won't be quite enough to topple Ed as his streaming sales alone will be adding at least 20k to his weekly tally for a while yet.

Really hope Take That can do it but they would have been more frontliaded than usual due to the Amazon/tour ticket deal. Not sure if they would get a huge Mothers Day boost due to it being released so close to MD?

Don't get your hopes up for Take That - Ed's eaten up a ~37k lead within a single day. But yes, Mothers' Day has almost certainly boosted their sales (and Ed's)!

Yes, that was my thought as well, Kasabian releasing in Ed's ninth week of Release should get enough Sales to secure top spot although there could be a Harry Styles release before I guess.

What did Take That's previous album shift in its first week? I think it was six figures, albeit way down on Progress' total, but cannot remember for sure.

145,000 off the back of a #1 single so would be impressed if this one manages 6 figures seeing as 'Giants' flopped
