If I remember correctly, WYLLT was meant to be a double a side with Queen of my Heart but, it ended up being just a b-side on both CDs of QOMH...at least in the UK anyway. I only had enough pocket money for one single that week and I went for Cher's Music's No Good Without You instead so I can't remember the tracklistings for definite lol

World of Our Own has improved considerably!
 It was only 12th in their best sellers list in January 2019, and it hadn't sold 400k at that point (that was achieved in June 2019 - becoming their 11th song to sell more than 400k). It feels kind of odd to see it on 519k now, considering that in 2002 (its year of release) it only sold 195k. It had increased to 245k by October 2010. It's my favourite song by them so I'm glad it has a much healthier total now. ~119k during the past 21 months is quite impressive.On the other hand... I Have a Dream/Seasons in the Sun, which back in the day was so much bigger than World of Our Own, has only increased by 19k since January 2019 (26 months)! Considering how big it was at the time, that's definitely become relatively forgotten about. It had sold 623,000 by the end of 2000, and 650,000 by October 2010. If we're to assume they'll continue to sell at the same rate over the next few years... World of Our Own would go Platinum in May 2022, and would surpass I Have a Dream's total sales in March 2024 - at which point both songs would be on sales of approx 725,000 sales. |

I have a dream / seasons in the sun must be a special case since its a double song single and i dont know how is it calculated. maybe some of the streams are being counted individually, since both seasons in the sun and i have a dream are in their top 20 most streamed songs... anyway this is an estimation on how much around their sales have increased per single in the last ~2 years. It would have been insteresting to see sales of lower singles / songs like Hello My Love / Better Man and also close to certification singles, Tonight, Bop Bop Baby, When you tell me that you love me, I wanna grow old with you, I lay my love on you, I'll see you again etc...

The covers even said "including When You're Looking Like That". It just didn't mention it on the spine I suppose. But they promoted it as if it was a double-a-side! Similar situation with Steps "It's The Way You Make Me Feel" and "Too Busy Thinking 'Bout My Baby"! |

With Footprints appearing on its own lower the top 40. |

Looking at the way some singles develop, if streaming existed when Westlife started they would prpbably have 1/3 of the chart toppers they have now but would deffinitely have sold at least 3 times more records. Based on the above i wonder how far is Tonight and when u tell me that u love me from being certified. I would expect them to be close...

I heard last night MTV presented Westlife's top 10 singles. ANybody can help finding the figures out? maybe replaying the video from last night or something?
I am wondering if they showed the same figures as in March.... Help

Westlife are one of the most successful groups of all time in the UK, holding fourteen Number 1 singles in the UK: a number only surpassed by The Beatles and Elvis Presley. Known for stools (both for sitting on and getting up from dramatically), key changes, ballads and a few bops here and there, their first seven singles all debuted at Number 1 within 18 months of each other, leading a total of 25 Top 10 singles. Additionally, eight of their albums went straight to Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, most recently with their 2019 comeback record Spectrum. To celebrate the release of their new album Wild Dreams, below we reveal the definitive list of Westlife's Official Top 20 biggest songs of all time. First, a few highlights: When You're Looking Like That (2001) A rare early uptempo number, When You're Looking Like That never actually charted in its own right; it had to settle for being a double A-side with Queen Of My Heart. Despite this it remains one of their most popular tracks – it's their 6th most streamed song, clocking up 25 million plays – and appears in 17th place overall with 276,000 units via streaming and downloads only (as physical sales aren't counted – Queen of My Heart keeps those all to itself). My Love (2000) In 13th place is My Love, in part an ode to the lads' home of Ireland. It's their tenth most-streamed single with 18 million plays. Make sure to check out the music video for this one, featuring shots of Ireland's stunning beaches and the Cliffs of Moher – and some pretty liberal use of a green screen. Westlife in 1999 (Rex/Shutterstock) Against All Odds (2000) Westlife and Mariah? In the same studio? This really happened and the results were stellar. Westlife helped Mariah take her version of Phil Collins' 1984 Number 2 hit all the way to the top in 2000, notching up 507,000 chart sales to date. Westlife would repeat this formula five years later, teaming up with Diana Ross on a new version of her 1991 Number 2 hit When You Tell Me That You Love Me, which also peaked at Number 2. That single just misses out on their overall Top 20, however. Hello My Love (2019) After an eight-year hiatus, after calling time in 2011, Westlife returned with a bang with this breezy Ed Sheeran-track, peaking at Number 13 on the Official Singles Chart - an impressive feat for a band whose hits pre-date the streaming era. QUIZ: Official Charts Pop Genius - The 2000s I Have A Dream/Seasons in the Sun (1999) A double-A side and two covers for the price of one, Westlife scored the Official Christmas Number 1 of 1999, and thus the first chart-topper of the 21st century. Flying Without Wings (1999) The band's third straight Number 1 in 1999, Flying Without Wings is pop balladry at its finest.  Indeed! 💩'Hello My Love' did really well then! Although I know it was a different era so it's hard to compare directly with the others. I'm pretty sure that would have got a top 10 peak had they released it on Friday. |
