Welcome to this new feature to the Pink forum (big thanks to Silas for the idea!!). To generate a bit of discussion here while Pink is on a break, I will be posting threads called D!scover P!nk to share anything that some fans may not of heard of. From album tracks (I'm aware most may know all album tracks, but some won't!), and rare songs, special live performances, to photoshoots and stories...
I hope you enjoy these threads, and maybe you'll discover something new about P!nk! This week, we are going WAY back to KEY TO MY HEART When Pink was 16, she formed an R&B group called Choice with two other girls, Stephanie Galligan and Chrissy Conway. Their first song, Key To My Heart was sent to LaFace Records in Atlanta, where LA Reid overheard it and arranged for the group to fly there so that he could see them perform. After that, he signed them a record deal. Their parents had to cosign the contract, as the girls were all under 18 at the time. The girls then moved to Atlanta and recorded an album, which was never released. Key To My Heart appeared on the soundtrack to the 1996 film Kazaam. Choice disbanded in 1998 when LA Reid gave Pink an ultimatum: go solo or go home. She went solo... and then P!nk was born. (start video at 9m16s) (start video at 9m49s) KEY TO MY HEART |

yeah its not my style of music... I think if i had heard this back in the day i wouldn't have cared for it much. but i was going through a bit of an R&B phase when I got into Pink, I was listening to a lot of TLC at the time and Pink sounded very similar but she seemed a lot different to the other artists out there.
Anyway, i'm glad she did what she wanted for Missundaztood |
