The first two singles from Cole's 6th studio album are out tomorrow. As the man who went platinum with no features, the songs are both solo tracks and they are titled 'The Climb Back' & 'Lion King On Ice'. I'm so excited for these, Cole is really my favourite rapper around at the moment. He's so consistent with the quality of the albums.

What's with there being so many big midweek rap releases this week lol ~

The last I heard J. Cole was rumoured to be dropping new music very soon but he / someone on his team denied it, that was a quick turnaround then lol. I didn't really care much for 'Snow On Tha Bluff' but I suppose that was really just a one off social commentary track, hopefully the singles from the actual album will be a bit better. Jetson on co-production for 'Lion King On Ice' already sounds pretty promising, guessing from the titles and credits that that one will be more of a 'banger' while the other will be a more lowkey lyrical focused song.

I enjoyed both on first listen but I'd say I preferred 'The Climb Back' from the two.

I was reading the lyrics on Genius at the same time as I listened and the "they fiend to clap as often as the Genius app misquoting me" line made me laugh. laugh.gif
