Had a feeling it would be tomorrow as everything else has been released on a Wednesday. Not sure why exactly.

Hope this gives the song a push. I hope it can go top 100 at least.
The video however probably won’t ever be shown on TV due to the nature of it. |

Final preview before the video release:
Apparently an American channel Extra is premiering the video. |

This goes in so hard. Uncensored. It could have a massive backlash. One of her most controversial videos to date...
... but so needed. I hope it gets the positive attention it deserves and not just blind, misguided hate. |

Wow. So much to take in. It's really tough watching those shooting scenes but it's one of those things where people need to face the reality of these situations head on and realise it isn't just something you hear about on the news that you can brush off and think it won't happen to me. I think that's one thing Madonna addressed when the video travels back to the start of the night where Madonna's getting ready for the night out and a reported shooting is broadcast on the TV news. This video isn't about profiting on tragedy; there's a genuine concern and the videos takes care in representing those who have been targeted by the various shootings in America and recognises that what these people represent is why they've been targeted.
As for the superficial aspects, the dancing scenes are such joy. I wanna go to the club with Madonna. The video as a whole is fantastically put together and, like 'Medellin', looks so big budget. CNN Entertainment: Madonna makes powerful statement against gun violence QUOTE Madonna told CNN her response to those who may have a problem with the graphic depiction is that "this is what happens when people shoot."
"Understand that this is what happens. Guns kill," she said. "A bullet rips through your body, knocks you to the floor and takes your life, and you bleed to death. I mean this is reality." "It's really scary to me that any public gathering, any place of worship, any school is a target," Madonna said "Nobody's safe." The pop icon added, "We know that gun violence disproportionately affects children and the disenfranchised in our society. This certainly inspires me to use my art and platform to advocate for change." Shannon Watts is grateful Madonna is doing just that. Watts founded Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America the day after the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut in which 20 children and six staff members were killed. She told CNN that artists like Madonna are able to amplify their calls to end the violence. "We know that one way to change our culture of gun violence is to change culture," she said. "People who change culture are often influencers and creative people. They have this ability to reach and connect millions and to encourage them to get involved and to use their voices and their votes to end gun violence." |

This is so much to take in as you say. I'm pretty speechless and just... in awe of the statement she has made, so explicitly and bravely.

I'm yet to see a negative comment on Twitter or social media. Articles are really highlighting the shocking yet impactful and truthful nature of the video.

This refers to the whole era really but, when Madonna delivers videos and music like this, it makes you wonder what the f*** she actually got out of stuff like MDNA?
I'm guessing her creative energy went on making films back then. I'm yet to see a negative comment on Twitter or social media. Articles are really highlighting the shocking yet impactful and truthful nature of the video. Same! I know all the comments are from fans so far but it is refreshing to have a sea of positive comments when you scroll through the feed. It's also good that they're all understanding the message. I'm fully expecting some criticism to come when the usual suspects get wind of the video but hopefully that will be heavily outweighed. |

Is this the video with the drag queens ? I didn’t spot them if so?
I have watched 3 times now! Her most daring video since Justify My Love. It’s going to cause a storm , hopefully for the better. |

Amazing video. Easily better than anything she’s done since Confessions era visually.
Deserves a Grammy nomination. Need to rewatch I hope this impacts on the album and can also push the single into the top 100 next week unlikely but hopefully. I think God Control will take over Medellin and become the most remembered video from Madame X. |

SO f***ING PROUD OF HER RIGHT NOW.
What a spectacular video for the highlight of the album. Powerful, thought-provoking and relevant to what's going on. This post has been edited by Tawdry Hepburn: Jun 26 2019, 11:51 PM |
