So around 25% of goals in this World Cup have been penalties.

Will there be more late heartbreak for Australia in the closing minutes?

Well what an enthralling match between Denmark and Australia That'll teach me to not forget that the games start at 1PM instead of 2 so that I miss the first half

What has happened to all those stronger teams? It looks like they're just happy with 1-0.

Yep, so far only Russia (to their credit) of the winning teams in the second round weren't content with just being 1-0 up! It's a marathon, sometimes it's better to conserve energy. I don't think Russia have really been tested yet, so I am not sure how far in their gears they actually are. Feel sorry for Peru, lots of energy and good spirit but just lacking that quality right at the end. Very similar to Morocco.. real shame. |

Oh yay. A thrilling 1-0 win to France. Peru just like Rooney said have that quality in the end.

Peru and Morocco both being out after two matches with 0 goals is hugely disappointing

Very sad to see Peru and Morocco out indeed, they played fun against teams who are setting back on the boring but effective route. More so given that they, and indeed all of the teams out so far, are experiencing their first World Cup in quite a long while.

Probably another narrow unconvincing win for France against Denmark. Probably a close game between Australia and Peru I reckon.

It will be quite a ask, I reckon for Australia to beat Peru.

Looking very likely that France and Denmark will be our first goalless draw.

Bearing a miracle it will be Denmark joining France in the second round.

We will have the “Mediocrity of Moscow” which took place between Denmark and France.

What a disappointing result for Australia, they tried well and had a fair few chances but just couldn't score for some reason. Peru were mostly negative and dull but still managed to get two goals.
