I'm sure this topic has been done before but given that something's coming in the next few months (I say in my prayers) I think it'd be good to revisit it. What are you hoping for, stylistically from Rihanna's ninth album?
She'd definitely sell an album of bangers ala Loud well but at this point in her career she's past that, I'd be disappointed if we got something generic or a throwback to that era. If the album is reggae then I would be able to live with that as 'No Love Allowed' and 'Consideration' are two of her best but ideally, something like ANTI but with more of the softer moments we saw bit more of last era. Some of the album tracks like Never Ending where Rih shows less of the badass side have became real gems for me <3 Although if she took inspiration from 'Same Ol Mistakes' for an album I would not be complaining, bring on PSYCHADELRIH (my absolute dream) But ANTI was a great cohesive album so if she delivered that again with the reggae side delved into (which is what I'm expecting, I can't see full on reggae) I'd be happy. |

I want a lack of features on this album.
Preferably a full on Rihanna solo album. Rated R is still my favourite album from her so I’d love some obscure, different sounding productions but I can’t see it. Reggae Rihanna for a full album I’ll have to judge when I hear it in full. It’s a side of her that I like in terms of the odd song like No Love Allowed and Man Down but an entire album in that sound I just don’t know. What I will say is I think this album will show off her vocals. |

In all honesty at this point, I would like ANYTHING.
 I really don't know what I'd love from a Rihanna album. She seems to have a specific sound for each record and they all seem to be pretty cohesive, so I would like jus to have her back in all honesty. Getting annoyed with waiting though grr. |
