Posted by: ukchartstatsfan 29th January 2012, 12:10 PM

So Usfland are in semi-final 2

Usfland here, wishing Jonas Alaska good luck in the semi-final.
Possibly we could get to the final:

What do our fellow countries think of Usfland's entry? What's your honest opinion?

Good luck to every country taking part in the semi-finals

Just voted in our semi-final.
Good luck to everyone taking part in BJSC XLI

Posted by: ukchartstatsfan 10th February 2012, 08:10 PM

Oh well we didn't qualify for the final in BJSC XLI.

In the next contest, Usfland may try K-Pop

What do other countries think?

Posted by: ukchartstatsfan 10th February 2012, 08:25 PM

Potential entries for the next contest:

10cm- sorrow

Teen Top/ Going Crazy

Dalshabet/ Hit U

Tell us what you think of these entries

Posted by: Oricon 10th February 2012, 08:28 PM

YES, YOU SHOULD ALWAYS TRY K-POP!! yahoo.gif

But 10cm isn't an idol group but an indie artist in K-Pop. A change in K-Pop I guess, I will fully support any K-Pop songs happy.gif

Maybe you should send female vocals instead though, as male vocals backfire a lot. As seen with your latest entry which didn't qualify through and the more tragic B.A.P cry.gif

I have to thank you for me getting interested in K-Pop. So thanks Oricon a.k.a The Oracle Of K-Pop and J-Pop

Thanks for that.

I just thought it could be an idea if that's all right with other countries

Posted by: Oricon 10th February 2012, 08:35 PM

Why thank me, I must thank you for liking K/J-Pop actually biggrin.gif

Best choice would be:

01: Hit U
02: Going Crazy
03: The 10cm song laugh.gif

What I prefer though:

01: Going Crazy
02: Hit U
03: The 10cm song

I would personally choose Teen Tops song as I think it's catchy. Downside is, the beats are generic (the producer is the one who produced SISTAR's So Cool who has a habit of recycling the sound..) so some voters who not vote it but I do think the pop side will. Also it's sung by a boy group aka male vocals thus it won't do incredibily justice in the contest cry.gif

Hit U would be better, but it's too miss A styled..

Btw I too am sending a K-Pop song in the next contest, it's always good to have 2 right? kink.gif

Usfland's entry has been confirmed.

We'll find out soon what our entry is. As our dive into K-Pop begins

Posted by: Oricon 21st February 2012, 08:51 PM

So it is K-Pop w00t.gif w00t.gif

Posted by: Freeze 22nd February 2012, 12:33 AM

Oooh! I am really looking forward to this! biggrin.gif

Posted by: ukchartstatsfan 24th February 2012, 11:16 AM

Here at Usfland we are increasing the capacity of our JC Usfland Area from 5,000 to 10,000. Should be ready soon for the final of BJSC XLII.
Also we're looking forward to what everyone has sent as their song for the semi-finals.
Hopefully with our gamble that we taking on, we can reach the final.

Posted by: Oricon 24th February 2012, 12:19 PM

If its K-Pop, it's been on the barrier recently as you can see through myasthenia 3 entries. They only scratched to make the finals and always coming Bottom 7 in the results sad.gif

But best of luck anyways and you will have Daehun's support biggrin.gif

Posted by: ukchartstatsfan 24th February 2012, 07:16 PM

From the country pronouncation forum:
Which of these are best to pronounce Usfland?

You-seph-land
U-s-fland
used-fland
Us-flund
Us-ef-land
Eussthf-land

Thank you to the users who recommended these smile.gif

So Dalshabet/ Hit U is our entry for BJSC XLIII. The gamble is K-Pop to try and get us to the final

We're in Semi-Final 1. Tell us what you think of our entry. And how well do you think we'll do?

Posted by: Oricon 26th February 2012, 08:10 PM

I'm in a different semi from you, sadly sad.gif I wish the best of luck in your entry though as it certainly is my favourite from what you entered so far into the contest biggrin.gif

Posted by: Freeze 26th February 2012, 08:26 PM

I'm in the same semi final as you, although I haven't heard it yet. But I generally love K-pop, so there's a big chance you'll get my support! biggrin.gif

Posted by: ukcsf 29th April 2012, 04:03 PM

So Usfland are going to enter the upcoming contest. We couldn't take part in the last contest because of technicial problems. Hopefully we would have any this time.

Here is the possible song we might enter:

Let us know what you think

Posted by: Oricon 29th April 2012, 04:27 PM

It's very risky ukcsf. It is a ballad and I sent one of them in and DNQed (my first ever entry), that said I LOVE the song to bits as she is from Girls' Generation whom I adore.

There's also another problem that it MIGHT get vetoed? I THINK (not too sure) that Tom is sending a K-Pop entry this time in which she is part of the trio so it might face some problems I reckon.

Posted by: ukcsf 7th May 2012, 09:59 AM

So Usfland have entered Kara/ Speed Up for the BJSC XLIV contest. How well do you think we'll do?

For our second entry in a row we've still stuck with K-Pop

Posted by: ukcsf 8th May 2012, 08:06 PM

Speed Up climbing all the time in Usfland's Top40 this week.

Usfland wishes all the countries that are taking part in BJSC XLIV

Posted by: ukcsf 10th May 2012, 08:06 AM

Usfland have just voted in our semi-final.

Good luck to everyone taking part

Posted by: ukcsf 15th May 2012, 07:25 PM

Sadly Kara failed to get to the final for Usfland. sad.gif

But Usfland would like to say a big thank you to: Daehun, Umiiruka, Farahtyn, Hendinia, Sandeborg for giving us points.

Usfland will back for the next contest hopefully. May be a slight change of path for the next entry

Posted by: ukcsf 5th June 2012, 07:49 PM

So for BJSC XLV. Usfland has decided to enter this:

NETSKY/ COME ALIVE

Please tell us what do you think of this entry? And what chances do we have of getting to the final?

Posted by: ukcsf 12th June 2012, 08:13 PM

Sadly Netsky didn't make the final. Another DNQ for Usfland.

Well done to all the countries who made the final.

What now for us?

How well do you think we'll do in the final?

Posted by: ukcsf 20th July 2012, 07:27 PM

We wish to thank the following countries for the points that you gave Camo & Krooked in the final for Usfland:

We're in SF2 and in and placed 12th in that Semi-Final.

What other countries think for our entry and should we have stuck with the same genre or not?

Posted by: kenukcsfant2012 11th September 2012, 10:22 AM

For BJSC 48.

Usfland have decided to enter Twin Shadow/ Five Seconds. A switch from drum 'n' bass that we had done doing for the last 3 BJSC contests. What do you think of this? And how do you think we'll do?

Posted by: Harve 11th September 2012, 04:44 PM

I kinda forgot about Twin Shadow's existence between their debut and when you entered this. I'm not in your semi (that's Skall), but it will be absolutely criminal if this doesn't qualify. What an instant fucking classic! wub.gif

TWIN SHADOW REACH THE FINAL FOR USFLAND.

Twin Shadow's 'Five Seconds' has qualified for the final for Usfland. Which will be our 4th BJSC final in 11 contests that we've completed in. We are absolutely delighted that we qualified in our semi-final and we wait and see how we do in the final.

Thank you to everyone who voted.

Posted by: kenukcsfant2012 26th September 2012, 06:51 PM

TWIN SHADOW FINISH IN 9TH FOR USFLAND

Usfland has got their 1st ever Top10 finish thanks to Twin Shadow 'Five Seconds'. We finished 9th in this contest with 116 points. The best we've ever done in the final which eclipses our 18th place in our very first contest with Charice 'One Day'. Thank you for voting for our entry and we'll see you in for the next contest.

Posted by: kenukcsfant2012 9th October 2012, 07:38 PM

So not long to the semi-finals in BJSC XLIX. Here in Usfland, we are looking to reach our second final in a row after the success of Twin Shadow which gave us our best result ever in BJSC. Good luck to all the countries taking part in BJSC 49.

Posted by: Harve 12th October 2012, 02:45 AM

ANOTHER really really good entry. I may have first heard it 18 months ago but that's a minor detail. Plus, it has connections to last month's winner:

Furthermore, when I entered 'Goth Star' by the same artist, it won Unknown Pleasures, woo!!! So I'm sincerely hoping this qualifies.

Posted by: kenukcsfant2012 13th October 2012, 06:31 PM

So Usfland have entered for BJSC XLIX:

PICTUREPLANE/ REAL IS A FEELING

it is utterly butterly shite

As KETALINA said.

We had our track compared to Fred West for some reason.

We have flopped big time in our gamble. A gamble which has failed massively.

Clearly we need another inspired entry next time which will try and do. We lucky to get points. Yes we could have the first semi-final nul points in BJSC.

Thanks to the reaction we had to do our entry. But we do welcome all feedback so thanks for your honestly.

Posted by: Mack 14th July 2015, 01:30 PM

The organiser behind the entry of 'Set The Mood' has been fined heavily for his involvement in entering that song. Usfland's organisers have made sure that nothing like this will happen again and that there will be a overhaul on how songs get entered by Usfland for future BJSCs.

SONDR FT JOE CLEERE- SURVIVING

A bit about them:

QUOTE
Sondr are a London based electronic music production and songwriting duo, specialising in their own unique take on dance music – ODM, otherwise known as “organic dance music”.

Originally working as songwriters and producers for pop music (Lana Del Ray, Meghan Trainor, Ella Eyre) Sondr’s Lorenzo Cosi and YK Koi had a chance meeting at Tileyard Studio complex, when both of their artist’s called in sick last minute. Within weeks of meeting, their first collaboration was cut by a huge European pop star, which peaked the airplay chart at number 2.

Their mutual admiration for live instrumentation, EDM and analogue recording and mixing techniques brought them together to start the project which would soon become Sondr. Combining guitars, live drums, anthemic vocals and electronic dance production, Sondr are equally placed in an arenas as they are in clubs.

Their highly anticipated debut single “Surviving” features Irish folk singer Joe Cleere and combines soaring melodies with upbeat guitars and tropical synths to create the perfect summer anthem.

Sondr are currently in the studio working on follow-up releases with an array of hugely talented writers and featured artists, as well as working on remixes for Benny Benassi, James Newman and many more.

So without using our 'cheap generic dance entries', East Rukahavian have qualified for the final. A spokesman reported that they don't accept our Head of BJSC entries is not a 'cheap hoe' as it was reported that he was following their entries with Spinnin' Records and are demanding an apology. We spoke to Faith Capaldi and she said 'East Rukahavian will always continue to support BJSC'. however this is the first time people of East Rukahavian have listened to her as with her surnames both being two singers that are forbidden to listen to.

Posted by: MackMidnights 2nd November 2022, 02:40 PM

An immediate investigation is underway at East Rukahavian, as the embarassment of a nil pointer has happened last night during the semi-final results. A spokesman for East Rukahavian said:

QUOTE
This nil pointer has devastasted me, especially to the people of East Rukahavian, we hope to come back in the next contest, we want to feel that we take heart and pride in our entries, especially after the 'cheap generic dance-bloc entries' controversy.

Maudlin Strangers - Don't Worry, I'm Fine

What do you think of our entry?

Posted by: Mack. 21st March 2024, 01:11 PM

About the band behind our entry:

QUOTE
As the brain-child of Los Angeles native Jake Hays, Maudlin Strangers began its inception as a solo indie rock project in 2010. After a handful of independent releases and curating a band composed of close friends, they signed with BMG/Vagrant Records to release the label-debut "Overdose" EP in 2015, subsequently touring with label-mate Bad Suns across US/Canada. After a west coast tour with pop-trio LANY, they toured as direct support for Cold War Kids on their North America/Canada tour, before ultimately going on a hiatus in 2016. Forward to 2023, Maudlin Strangers re-emerges with a new lineup of more close friends (original member Richie Gonzales on Drums, Alexander "Schmorgle" Morgan on Guitar/Keys, and Drew Bruchs on Bass). The hiatus-breaking single "I'm Not In The Right Mind" is streaming everywhere now.

"If you’re looking for electro-pop that is darker than most but still sparkles enough to be worthy of a pool party soundtrack, then Maudlin Strangers… might just do the trick"
