I wonder how Camila will sell in the albums format?!

Posted by: Lomadz 12th January 2018, 07:06 PM

Any chance of no1 for Camila, she deserves it.

Posted by: Steve201 12th January 2018, 07:09 PM

Really not sure how she will sell!

Posted by: timjimlee 13th January 2018, 01:54 PM

Camila off the top all ready, her Album has been overtaken by The Greatest Showman.
Her chances of securing #1 overall will depend on pre-order Sales which didn't appear to be spectacular.

Posted by: Dexton 13th January 2018, 01:58 PM

I think Camila will blocked from #1 by The Greatest Showman, but debut at #2 and have decent longevity in the Top 10/20

Posted by: cqmerqnita 13th January 2018, 01:59 PM

She has lots of streaming. But then The Greatest also does...

The Cranberries Takeover:

4. The Cranberries - Stars: The Best Of The Cranberries 1992 - 2002
10. The Cranberries - No Need To Argue
26. The Cranberries - No Need To Argue
31. The Cranberries - Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?
46. The Cranberries - Something Else
56. The Cranberries - Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?

Camila down to #3 now, would imagine The Cranberries will overtake also.

Posted by: timjimlee 16th January 2018, 08:45 AM

Yes, "Stars: The Best Of The Cranberries 1992 - 2002" now up to #2 (Camila down to #4), wonder whether it can overtake "The Greatest Showman" at some point today.

Fall Out Boy coming for a hat-trick of #2 peaks overall?
Last time round in 2015 'American Beauty / American Psycho' opened about same time of year with Sales of 31,497 - think they may need to improve on that to get #1 overall.

Any reason why Def Leppard have a lot of their albums scaling the album chart? Not that I’m complaining, I’m actually pleased for this

Any reason why Def Leppard have a lot of their albums scaling the album chart? Not that I’m complaining, I’m actually pleased for this

After years of legal and contractual wrangling, the band's catalogue is now available on all major streaming and digital download services (source: ULTIMATE CLASSIC ROCK).

Posted by: timjimlee 20th January 2018, 01:25 PM

In fact all 11 of their Studio Albums (and some compilation Albums) are making decent progress for Def Leppard:

7. Def Leppard - Hysteria
18. Def Leppard - Vault: Def Leppard Greatest Hits (1980-1995)
29. Def Leppard - Pyromania
34. Def Leppard - Hysteria (Super Deluxe)
37. Def Leppard - The Lost Session (Live) - EP
56. Def Leppard - High 'N' Dry
62. Def Leppard - Adrenalize
90. Def Leppard - On Through The Night
102. Def Leppard - Adrenalize (Deluxe)
113. Def Leppard - Pyromania (Deluxe)
172. Def Leppard - Retro Active
227. Def Leppard - Yeah!
269. Def Leppard - X
270. Def Leppard - Euphoria
337. Def Leppard - Songs From The Sparkle Lounge
398. Def Leppard - Def Leppard
416. Def Leppard - Slang (Deluxe)
515. Def Leppard - Mirror Ball: Live & More
570. Def Leppard - Hysteria (Deluxe)

Hysteria should make Top 100 overall this week, wonder whether any others.

Posted by: timjimlee 20th January 2018, 05:50 PM

The Greatest Showman back to #1 after a brief spell where MTV Rocks was at the top, should stay there for rest of week.

Posted by: Steve201 21st January 2018, 03:54 PM

Yeh FOB and First Aid Kit should be top 5 can imagine them selling 15-20k especiallly the later who have decent radio 2 audience!

Not sure he is going to get there now, The Greatest Showman about to get the weekend cinema boost.

Surprised to see Paloma as low down as #72 and #102 given her Album is still Top 15 overall.
Should rise high after Graham Norton appearance tonight though.

Posted by: Steve201 2nd February 2018, 11:53 PM

Lol!!

Don Broco doing well considering the lack of radio 1 support. Should sell 7-10k which is decent. JT should do 50k and TGS steady on 35-40k again!

Posted by: timjimlee 3rd February 2018, 10:16 AM

4 Simple Minds - Walk Between Worlds

Holding up very well so far, should be on course for a Top 10 placing overall may be even Top 5, not bad for an Eighteenth Studio Album. Reviews will certainly have helped interest with some of their older fans.

Posted by: SLlewellyn 10th March 2018, 12:46 AM

Calum Scott ahead of Editors? I was sure Editors would debut quite nicely with this album - it's had decent R1/R2 coverage.

Posted by: The Hit Parade 10th March 2018, 02:18 PM

I can believe Editors' sales would be more physical-oriented than Callum Scott's - but even so he's doing better than I thought off the back of one hit that seems ages ago.

Will be interesting to see if Kylie can outsell the Manic Street Preachers next week. She's ahead on Amazon, but behind on iTunes, I reckon their sales will be very frontloaded.

Such good result for her in week 4 meaning it’s appealing to outside of her core fan base - taking out compilations it’s the 8th artist album.

Is it that time already for another totally non-hyperbolic post from me in the mids thread *.*

James Bay should be able to debut at #1 right? Although the lead single making fairly little impact isn't a great sign.

Posted by: timjimlee 22nd May 2018, 09:24 AM

Jessie J seems to have split her Album (R.O.S.E.) up into four parts - first EP (Realisations) is out today, currently at #12.

As the EPs will not be eligible for the Album chart it is a Release Strategy that will dent any hope of a decent chart position for the consolidated release...

Posted by: danG 22nd May 2018, 09:31 AM

It's as if she knows the album is going to flop terribly so is deliberately forcing it to not chart at all to avoid any negative publicity of a flop position. laugh.gif

positively surprised Snow Patrol are #1!!! thought they didn't have a chance against Mendes, although they probably both lose against TGS :/

Posted by: Dexton 25th May 2018, 05:35 AM

Shawn Mendes will have great streams and Snow Patrol will have great real sales, hopefully enough for them to be Top 2 above TGS, but at this point it's hard to say who will be #1 next week ohmy.gif A close race maybe?

Hadn't realised Christine and the Queen's album was out this week! Don't know if it'll manage to beat Eminem to the #1 spot but I'd be more than happy with a #2 debut.

Posted by: Bjork 21st September 2018, 05:18 AM

didn't know it either until I opened Spotify and got the insta-ad for the album, a #2 would be good indeed

Posted by: Bré 21st September 2018, 08:20 AM

Really hope BROCKHAMPTON will at the very least go top 100 with this album, not sure what to expect.

Joe Bonamassa though :upsidedownpulsatingcheeseblock:

Also it'll be fantastic for Christine if she can get the #1 album!

Posted by: Bjork 21st September 2018, 08:21 AM

Slash at #2??

Posted by: Jdw77 21st September 2018, 08:47 AM

Slash will get a higher chart position this time because the other 3 albums had been as part of a the classic rock magazine not doing it this time so sales will be more.

Lol wtf are these? And most of them are filed under "alternative" or "jazz/big band" too. laugh.gif

The reason they're charting must be a similar reason to why Kamaliya got all those iTunes hits last year.

There's one song on "Martina Robert"s album called 'Women Are Not Wrong'... which is some random clubland remix of Kelly Clarkson's 'Because Of You' laugh.gif None of the other songs seem to correspond to their titles either.

Now #8 w00t.gif yahoo.gif

The reason is because fans have been fighting to get it back on iTunes and Virgin USA finally gave in.

Glitter has been available on iTunes for quite some time actually! Mariah's fans are just doing this to bring attention to her least celebrated album.

Do Amazon shift more copies than ITunes these day ? I’m out of the loop
on these things these day , I think the tour presale copies will be pretty high ,

Posted by: Hadji 23rd November 2018, 10:55 AM

That Odyssey album doesn’t really appeal to me. If they release another version of the album with the normal versions of the songs, I’d consider it. And poor NOW 101 stuck at #3. I was expecting it to be #1

Posted by: Bjork 23rd November 2018, 11:08 AM

Takes That's album is easily the worst thing they've ever done, the re-imagined songs sound terrible
and the newie I've heard sounds like a cover of Madonna's Hanky Panky, total no no no

I get it that they've already released a couple of GH but this is the first one to include all the singles since the 2006 comeback
no need for re-imagined bad versions and certainly could have done with a better new track

Should boost the Album but I didn't think it was their best performance (of 'Greatest Day').

Posted by: Steve201 24th November 2018, 11:12 AM

I thought it was typically euphoric as Greatest Day usually sounds, should help the album ease near the top spot this week although this project hasn't been well taken too, seems a bit pointless!

Posted by: iain 24th November 2018, 12:54 PM

Not sure where to post this as Friday Chart Predictions isn’t open yet, but Mint Royale has posted that Take That have sold more than Michael Buble’s entire first week sales on Friday.

Posted by: danVember 24th November 2018, 01:11 PM

wow, they must've had a lot of pre-orders. was expecting them to be #1 fairly comfortably but already out-doing Bublé's first week sales?!

wonder if they'll be able to do 100k this week or if they'll end up being super front loaded, I'm tempted to think the latter.

Posted by: The Hit Parade 24th November 2018, 01:33 PM

Apparently there was some sort of access to concert tickets if you pre-ordered the Take That album.
Not sure if that means Buble didn't do the same thing, or he just isn't as big a touring act.

Posted by: Steve201 24th November 2018, 05:37 PM

That's pretty amazing for Take That in this albums sales era, thoigh they'll slow as the week goes its still Xmas season now so will sell decently enough daily!

There's various factors going against this one though:

1) The last release wasn't as well received as previous
2) they now aren't singles artists
3) this album is a reimagining of their biggest hits and only 2 new songs

Posted by: jay727 25th November 2018, 12:50 AM

No surprise that they’ve already sold more than Buble. TT have moved more than 100k during the Xmas period every time they’ve released at this time of year. They could quite well stay at #1 for the next few weeks

Posted by: Hadji 25th November 2018, 06:40 AM

They shifted more than 100k paid for sales last year in March but they were kept off the top by Ed Sheeran

Then me and my friends must be a rarity, because we don't have kids and we bought ourselves the album -which, by the way, it's great tongue.gif
It's only you, British, that like to make fun of TT. The rest of the world takes them pretty seriously. Most of the songs are barely different from the originals and the 3 new songs are great.
People are buying this album because it's a concept album, that no other artist has done before.
I'll be very happy if the opening sales are over 100k - that'd mean that at least some British have good taste tongue.gif

What on earth are you talking about, reimagined greatest hits with a couple of new tracks is standard fair for most heritage acts who have had a greatest hits already.

Why do you think we are flooded every year with loads of X artist with the Royal Philimonica orchestra albums?

Not the way TT did it. On some songs, they've mixed old vocals with new vocals, on other songs they've completely changed the arrangements, we have great duets, interludes, non-hit songs intermixed with the classics, bits of interviews, 3 new songs and so on. They've really put effort into making this kind of album different. They didn't want to do a GH album in the first place, but the record company forced them and so, they did it their way.

Definitely the way forward with greatest hits collections now you can just make playlists of the hits on streaming services. Evanescence did a similar thing with their last album.

Some of the new versions don’t sound that different from the originals, so still works well as a hits album rather than a full reinvention of the songs. Would be nice to see an album breach 100k in a week. Sad we haven’t had any manage it this year.

I hope this ensures a big climb on the album charts this week for her.

Posted by: Jordan Lee 26th December 2018, 02:05 AM

Also great to see ASIB remain in the top ten. It was #2 earlier in the week on iTunes currently at 6 but should overtake the Christmas albums soon.

LM5 should be top ten again soon too dance.gif

Drake at 21 is the highest I’ve seen that in a while too guess it’s the price tag helping out.

Rita really should’ve reduced price as it could’ve ensured a new peak for her in the new year unless she’s waiting till January she’s currently at 75.
