A 3-part dramedy based on the infamous Major Charles Ingram 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' coughing scandal!

Such a bonkers take on it! I LOVED IT laugh.gif

It's across tonight, tomorrow (14th April 2020) & Wednesday (15th April 2020). I was expecting a full on drama (I hadn't seen the trailer or anything just that my sister said she wanted to give it a go) so I was not expecting the full on comedy with it.

One of, if not THE most iconic moment and scandal in television and game show history.

I really enjoyed this, particularly the last half of the episode. I'm not really getting much comedy from it at the moment; it's kinda what I expected.

Really enjoying it. I actually found it quite funny once you view it through the prism of a war drama or heist caper, but with middle-class white people from the Shires and multiple-choice questions.

I really enjoyed this!

I remember the scandal but didn’t realise the story was even more interesting and complex than what it was!

Good cast too. They’re all playing the parts well.

after this scandal I take it any future people who go on the show have someone with them if they’re a phone a friend etc

In the most recent series, Jeremy Clarkson specifically asks if a researcher is in the room with the phone-a-friend before handing it over to the contestant. I don't know if it was implemented in the older series post-Ingram though.

Just seen - and enjoyed - the first two episodes.

I don't recall anything in the trial to suggest that the group of pub quizzers listening on a speaker phone ever happened. I suspect that might be one of the things added for extra drama. The fact that they now have someone in the room is supposedly to stop them trying to Google the answer. It wouldn't really have been possible to do that quickly enough back in 2001.

Yes, yet another scarily accurate performance from Michael Sheen to add to his Tony Blair, Brian Clough, David Frost and Kenneth Williams.

Ive really gotten into this too a lot more than I thought I would’ve by the trailers etc.

I was aware of the story but didn’t realise there was this much too it. Interesting. The brother getting on the show that many times before he played laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Howling at how this actually managed to happen! Even without the coughing the constant changing minds and I’ve never heard of this but I’m gonna go for it like who’d do that laugh.gif and also not knowing Audrey’s daughter In Coronation Street!

I really enjoyed this. I like how it left it open to your own interpretation. I enjoyed how accurately the main players were portrayed too.
