I think the first chart I remember listening too was the 1996 Christmas chart with Spice Girls at no.1.

Not really, this is known information from the mids, not stating fact for the number 1. So, lets drop the subject eh? wink.gif

Ooh late but I started getting into Now Albums/chart music in about 2004, although the first I specifically remember is Sugababes getting to number one with 'About You Now' a few years later.

My first Sunday chart (a Top 20 back in those days) was back in June 1977 when Rod Stewart was number one with "I Don't Want To Talk About It"

I started to listen to the chart in the late 80s for Kylie/Jason - I would write down the top 10!

I stopped for a few years in the early 90s, but got back in the mid 90s and have been listening since.

Gutted that this is the final Sunday chart, such an unnecessary move aswell. As songs are held back here it won't make any difference to piracy, and we could have had songs enter low then soar up the next week.

That'd be the one. My brother had been listening a few months earlier but that's the first time I remember my family sitting around the table for tea whilst listening.

The first Chart show I definitively remember listening to was when Shapeshifters were #1 with Lola's Theme wub.gif

Though I have vague memories of earlier charts that one is crystal clear.

I've been listening to this chart almost religiously (I used to NOT be happy if I ever missed a chart when I was younger laugh.gif) since 2006 (the week where Westlife - The Rose was number 1) and discovered this thread some time in early 2010 so a good nine years of my life nonetheless, emosh times ahead </3 this is one of the features that's made me stick with Buzzjack over the years, not that it'll leave, but end of an era puts it lightly sad.gif

Should be a great number 1 to send us off with so yay

No, because i have been following charts since 1996 but don't want the mids to spoil my enjoyment of the charts

You cant assume everyone who posts in here obsesses over the midweeks and itunes charts. No spoilers should mean no spoilers if you respect the enjoyment of the few chart lovers that remain

In the mid-late 90s before the internet, I used to read the 'midweeks' in the sunday paper before the chart or look in Woolies wub.gif p then of course we also had the ITV Chart Show and CD:UK to help as well.

The first Sunday chart I properly listened to was in Summer 1994 in the middle of Wet Wet Wet's never ending reign at the top when I was 12.
