I’m as surprised as you, but the next Unknown Pleasures is here! Don’t worry if you don’t know what this is - I didn’t two contests ago and now I’m hosting it, so don’t be afraid to give this a go! It’s basically the same format as all the other song contests on the forum - pick a song, vote for some other songs and hope your song wins! I’ve just realised I really over-use exclamation marks!

Anyway, here are the rules:
1. There's no limit to the genre or length of songs in this contest! (but remember this IS in the Indie forum so Ariana Grande’s newest pop banger probably wouldn’t get in)
2. Your chosen artist must not have ever reached the UK Top 75 singles chart or the UK Top 40 albums chart.
3. The song must not be on the current UK release schedule.
4. The song must not have been previously sent to http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=139865, http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=193320, or http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=104463. (the former and latter of these are out of date but I'm sure the mods know what's been sent so send it anyway)
5. Our amazing Indie mods (Lindsey, Seven and Jacob) can veto any entry they see unfit.
6. Artists are accepted on a first-come-first serve basis - so if two people choose the same Austrian yodelling quartet then the later poster will have to find something else.
7. This is an anonymous contest. Do not reveal or hint at your entry anywhere on the site until it is revealed in the Results show (because if they knew YOU sent it they probably wouldn’t point you )

If you think your song is still standing after that obstacle course of rules, send it to me via PM. Please do so in this format:

Song:
Audio link: (Youtube/Soundcloud/Anything else that works)
MP3 link: (for the mp3 pack. I have no idea what one of these is so this’ll be a steep learning curve )

The deadline is Saturday 21st October 23:59 (yes ik it’s short but you only get this long for BJSC so don’t complain). There’s a general limit of 30 participants but chances are you’ll get in even if you’re over that limit. If you want to be super sure, you can reserve a spot in this thread to make certain you’re in.

Anywho, happy song searching and good luck to everyone! And remember to remind your friends to enter! (although no more than 100 friends please bc I’ve only got a standard member inbox)

actually I've found something beautiful and amazing and sounds less flopperish, might just enter that although I have a weird relationship with entering songs on a whim!!

Ha that opening paragraph reminds me of when I, similarly inexperienced with UP, hosted XI 5 years ago.

I don't have anything for this in mind and BJSC C is the priority for me so I may have to give this one a miss unless I remember something that could be suitable - good luck with hosting and everyone else enter though, this could be the one contest free of you having to listen to yet another camp power metal jrock anime theme!

Since I announced I'm retiring from BJSC after BJSC100, I'm no longer taking part in UP, as my current personal life is pretty much hectic, I might re-join at a later date as UP is not that huge like BJSC.

I don’t think I’m going to participate actually, there’s just too many contests happening all at once, along with the popularity contest. Plus I’ve not found anything worthy to send either. Hope it is still a success though.

Hope we will get a fair few more entries on this last day, I was thinking this was looking like a smaller contest than usual (maybe some other people are also skipping this one due to it clashing with BJSC 100? idk)

Nah he doesn't have any potentials for this apparently

The reason we're having an UP now is so we can start doing some end of year things in November, hopefully the deadlines won't clash too much with BJSC but we are quite flexible in here in that we can extend if need be as long as it suits Pete ofc

I would like to say that the deadline is still tonight, and then if the mods think an extension is needed then I can think about extending it? The earliest I'd be able to do after tomorrow is Thursday though bc I'm away Monday-Wednesday.

We'll keep the deadline for confirming as it is, if we need an extension for voting we can see about that further down the line but we'll just continue as planned for now I think

I mean Wardy isn't technically banned from this as well - I think he's only suspended from the site for like a day, although if you were planning to put this up tonight then I guess we would have to go on without him.

I have spoken to Andrew and he has said he is happy for the contest to continue without him as he does not have anything to reconfirm with. However I will leave the decision you Pete.

Yea confirmations closed last night so anyone who was vetoed had today to reconfirm, it's up to Pete on whether he wants to extend to accommodate Wardy but he does have a plan to put each part up on a Sunday so that would throw that off, there's no need to extend if you'd rather not. I know we're still waiting on someone else confirming too but if my suspicions on who it is are correct, I don't see that happening

The latest I can post this is early afternoon tomorrow, and if I'm reading this right Wardy won't be back on here by then unfortunately. I'm not certain he would have re-confirmed anyway though.
