We're used to Rita smashing it out of the park in the UK, but in the US, she's only had three singles chart as a lead artist - How We Do (Party) at #62, I Will Never Let You Down at #77 and For You at #82. Of course, she had a huge #3 hit with Iggy on Black Widow, but I'm sure that would've been just as big with anyone on vocals going by Iggy's status back then.

The question is - will she EVER break the US? It's not like she's a total unknown there, she seems to be more of a TV and media personality, but why hasn't radio taken to her more? What would it take for her to crack the US?

For You is picking up steam & I can easily see it going Top 40 when FSF is released, possibly giving her a large hit in a few months time. The charts in the US move at an alarmingly slow rate sometimes so I wouldn’t be surprised if this didn’t take off there until May/June

For You will probably be the first Fifty Shades song to miss the top 10 in the US

I don't know. I feel like she's had multiple realistic opportunities for some of her UK hits to make a breakthrough there but it's not quite happened. She's literally only known for a feature on an Iggy Azalea single which happened to be the follow-up to a mega multi-week #1 there.

I was sort of hoping 'Anywhere' might make some kind of splash (is there any chance it still can?). The US these days are a lot more receptive to songs which have been massive hits in the UK already, so maybe it's not impossible that one day if she keeps rolling them out one of them may be the one to catch on.

IIRC 'Anywhere' was supposed to be sent to radio this month but its adds date is now 'TBA', which doesn't exactly bode well. I can't see 'For You' being more than a medium-sized hit with a short chart run either, as much as I'd love to be proven wrong.

I'm worried that they won't even bother just because she's gone this many years without a US hit, even though the reason for that is they were either barely pushed or not pushed at all - 'How We Do' being somewhat of an exception, but it was pushed here months before its UK release which was an entirely wrong strategy. It's not that Americans don't like her, it's that 99% of them genuinely can't name any of her songs!

It's a bit late to push Anywhere over in the US now. Girls will be her best shot at a US hit with Cardi and Bebe on board and both having just had big US hits!

If Girls flops in the US then she may as well forget about it.
