From the Guardian
QUOTE
The Official Charts Company (OCC) has announced that the singles chart is set to move back to Sunday in the summer following consistent problems with streaming data . The chart was moved from Sunday to Friday last year after the music industry adopted Friday as the global release day. Since the change, streaming data (included in the singles chart since 2014) for the last day of the chart week has frequently not been available. It has been calculated using a complicated formula for inclusion in the chart.
A spokesman for the OCC told the Guardian “Since the launch of Global Release Day on Fridays, streaming companies have struggled to release data in time for the Official Chart to be compiled on a Friday. Moving it back to Sunday will allow us to use the correct data instead of estimating Thursday’s streaming figures”.
A BBC spokesperson said “We are delighted to be able to move the Chart Show back to its traditional home on a Sunday afternoon.” He also indicated that the Friday Chart Show could be replaced with a programme showcasing the week’s new releases. No decision has been made on the host for the Sunday Chart Show. CBBC presenter and former Waterloo Road actor Cel Spellman is believed to be the likely choice.
The BBC declined to comment on suggestions that the new chart could also be unveiled on a Top Of The Pops-style show on CBBC.
I suspect the journalist has no idea how they calculate their streaming estimate. He has simply observed one of the laws of 21st century journalism that states that all mathematical formulas are, by definition, complicated.

AS IF. But seriously, if the chart moved to Saturdays with proper count of streams it'd be great.

I'd actually prefer the chart to move back to a Sunday. I remember in the 80s always looking forward to hearing the charts on a sunday afternoon; it became a bit like a cultural thing. However, I don't really listen to the charts anymore now cos not much out that interests me but I understand why they moved it to coincide with the change of release dates.

It is, of course, an April Fool. Colm pointed out the fatal flaw - I don't have the technical skills to create a page that looks like something from the Guardian website.
