37 Jesper Jenset Nationality: Norwegian Current age: 23 Year of first single: 2015 I can't remember how I first discovered Jesper Jenset, but I was instantly taken by his cute guitar-pop debut release Superhero with its catchy chorus and feel-good vibe. It was quite an enduring hit for a track that only made #10, as well! He followed it up with a second top 10, Never Coming Back, which had a similar vibe to its predecessor. What I didn't expect next, though, was a shift to a moody dance-pop sound with High. However, it made for his best song yet, and a top 10 in the BJSC for me too! Releases since then have been hit and miss but Jesper's still very capable of a strong pop song and he could very easily score another top 10 hit any day. Personal Chart History 18/07/2015 | 10 | 09 weeks | Superhero | NAS | 10-17-12-16-21-19-24-30-37-x 28/11/2015 | 09 | 05 weeks | Never Coming Back | NAS | 9-14-15-21-30-x 14/05/2016 | 02 | 14 weeks | High | NAS | 3-2-5-7-8-10-13-15-13-17-21-29-36-37-x 26/11/2016 | 13 | 02 weeks | Lies | NAS | 13-26-x 19/05/2018 | 05 | 05 weeks | FOR LOVE. | 1 | 5-8-18-30-34-x 06/10/2018 | 40 | 01 weeks | Bad Vibrations | NAS | 40-x Recommendation |

36 New Hope Club Nationality: British Current age: 21-22 Year of first single: 2017 It felt like quite a long road for New Hope Club to reach their debut album. They formed in 2016 as the second group signed to The Vamps' label (after The Tide), and it took four years for that album to appear. My interest in them grew over time, though. I initially never liked them as much as The Tide, but continued singles like Fixed, Medicine and Love Again saw them getting better and better. Medicine notably became their first top 10 in my chart, followed by Know Me Too Well last year and then again by Worse just a few months ago! The album went to #1 in my album chart as well, so New Hope Club really have solidified themselves for me and I can't wait to see what's coming next. Personal Chart History 21/01/2017 | 26 | 04 weeks | Perfume | 1 | 34-26-33-x-34-x 13/05/2017 | 19 | 05 weeks | Fixed | 2 | 19-21-29-38-x-40-x 07/07/2018 | 05 | 06 weeks | Medicine | 1 | 5-9-14-22-33-x-37-x 09/02/2019 | 20 | 01 weeks | Permission | 1 | 20-x 01/06/2019 | 18 | 02 weeks | Love Again | 2 | 18-x-39-x 26/10/2019 | 07 | 09 weeks | Know Me Too Well (New Hope Club & Danna Paola) | 3 | 40-11-7-11-17-29-38-x-29-37-x 25/01/2020 | 16 | 02 weeks | Let Me Down Slow (New Hope Club & R3HAB) | 4 | 16-32-x 02/05/2020 | 05 | 05 weeks | Worse | 1 | 6-5-12-17-24-x Recommendation |

35 Marcus & Martinus Nationality: Norwegian Current age: 18 Year of first single: 2012 It's interesting because Marcus & Martinus are more hit-and-miss with their quality of music, but I've placed them above some more consistent hitmakers. The Norwegian twins have been making music since they were 10 years old, though I'm only really familiar with their last couple of eras. It's two songs that really catapult them up - pop brilliance Make You Believe in Love and Remind Me. Neither song really has a chart run that reflects how much I like those songs, but their play counts say quite a lot. Make You Believe In Love has a huge 259 plays, with Remind Me on 148. Their next most played is Like It Like It, down on 49...! Of course, I like more than just two songs by the duo. Like It Like It and Dance With You are bangers, and Elektrisk was a fun introduction to them (thanks Jahq x). Personal Chart History 20/02/2016 | 12 | 02 weeks | Elektrisk (feat. Katastrofe) | 1 | 12-30-x 27/05/2017 | 15 | 03 weeks | Like It Like It (feat. Silentó) | 1 | 15-21-34-x 14/10/2017 | 03 | 09 weeks | Make You Believe in Love | 4 | 3-5-6-10-16-23-31-38-x-37-x 03/02/2018 | 03 | 05 weeks | Remind Me | 7 | 3-6-16-23-33-x 06/10/2018 | 18 | 02 weeks | Invited | 1 | 18-38-x 15/06/2019 | 20 | 01 weeks | Pocket Dial | 2 | 20-x 10/10/2020 | 32 | 01 weeks | Love You Less | 1 | 32-x Recommendation |

Two acts here I've actually charted myself! [s]and one I would never dream of charting but let's skip past that[/i]. Teacher is a catchy little track from PRETTYMUCH that caught my ear, I can't say I've heard too much else from them though (although I do remember they were a random guest on The X Factor at one point?) Jesper Jenset has charted with his two Gromee features which are both tunes, can't say I've heard too much of his solo stuff though.

34 Frans Nationality: Swedish Current age: 21 Year of first single: 2006 Frans Jeppsson-Wall debuted at age 7 with a minor Swedish hit, before scoring a huge #1 with a track called Fotbollsfest two years later. I've actually never heard that song, but of course, Frans landed on my radar in 2016 with his Melodifestivalen track If I Were Sorry. Immediately, I fell in love with the song, and it spent a total of 5 weeks at #1 in my chart before claiming the EOY #1 too. He scored a follow-up #1 with Young Like Us and has scored inconsistent but occasional hits ever since, including a top 2 hit just last year with One Floor Down. Personal Chart History 05/03/2016 | 01 | 30 weeks | If I Were Sorry | NAS | 2-1-1-1-1-3-2-3-3-4-2-1-3-4-6-7-9-12-14-18-22-30-30-31-38-40-34-36-38-x-33-x 25/06/2016 | 01 | 14 weeks | Young Like Us | NAS | 14-1-2-3-8-13-11-19-23-32-24-30-35-39-x 03/06/2017 | 21 | 05 weeks | Liar | NAS | 26-33-x-21-29-32-x 19/01/2019 | 02 | 05 weeks | One Floor Down | NAS | 2-6-11-16-28-x 23/03/2019 | 31 | 01 weeks | Snakes | NAS | 31-x 12/09/2020 | 31 | 01 weeks | Monday | 3 | 31-x Recommendation |

33 Nemo Schiffman Nationality: French Current age: 20 Year of first single: 2016 A recommendation from Rob S, I discovered Nemo Schiffman via his track I Don't Mind, which very quickly became a #1 hit in my chart. The track itself is by far and away one of the best twinkpop songs, and it finished second in my 2017 EOY chart, behind Harry Styles' Sign of the Times. Away from I Don't Mind, Nemo scored another top 10 with previous single Will, and his debut album, released with surprisingly little fanfare and not a single mention on his social media, did somewhat decently in my album chart. Nowadays, Nemo's an actor in French Netflix series Mortel. Personal Chart History 17/12/2016 | 01 | 19 weeks | I Don't Mind | 2 | 2-1-2-3-4-4-3-5-7-10-16-19-28-29-32-36-38-x-39-x-33-x 25/11/2017 | 10 | 04 weeks | Will | 1 | 29-10-17-29-x Recommendation |

32 Austin Mahone Nationality: American Current age: 24 Year of first single: 2012 One of the earliest twinks I followed, Austin Mahone scored a somewhat consistent run of hits near the start of the last decade. 00s-pop throwback What About Love scored him his first top 10 debut, and Pitbull collaboration Mmm Yeah ranked as his highest charting track, peaking at #4. The hits dried up not long after, though, lining up with Austin's music becoming increasingly infrequent. His last chart hit now was three years ago, though there's every chance he could score another hit at some point in the future. 31 Conor Maynard Nationality: British Current age: 28 Year of first single: 2012 One more of you will be familiar of! Conor Maynard launched into the charts with debut track Can't Say No and achieved a run of top 10 smashes and a #1 album, before vanishing for a while and subsequently losing every piece of momentum. Now, Conor's known for his dance collaborations and covers, but I still absolutely love that debut album, and R U Crazy was looking so promising for the next era too! I still enjoyed the singles upon his comeback, so it was a shame the public couldn't have cared less. I've missed quite a few since I last posted oops
PRETTYMUCH Really wish we'd just get a full length album from them now - their EPs are good, but I want MORE New Hope Club, good to see them appear. I need to go back and listen to their album because I feel I've forgotten a lot of it (apart from Why Oh Why ). Stan Austin Mahone appearing too despite how downhill his music has gone (and his career in general lmao x). What About Love and Dancing With Nobody are the two biggest bops of his though Conor Maynard... xxx |
