Well it's that time of the year to open this the 2014 Indie/Alt song of the year.
The idea is to nominate your five favourite tracks from 2014. Anything can be nominated as long as it was released as a single/album track/made the charts this year. Obviously this is genre based so anything that would normally be discussed in this forum can be nominated. Please don't choose tracks which have been previously nominated in preceding years in this thread. You're just wasting a nomination! I will be checking! If anybody does see songs from previous votes then let me know. Previous Year Lists 2011 2012 2013 I'll keep the thread open for a couple of weeks so any tracks released in December can be included and then the voting thread will open. In the meantime here is the 2013 Top 10. Will anybody dominate in the same way as The Monkeys did? Feel free to speculate while you're thinking of all those awesome tracks. 01. (491) Chvrches - The Mother We Share 02. (476) Arcade Fire - Reflektor 03. (466) Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know? 04. (427) Arctic Monkeys - Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? 05. (420) Foals - My Number 06. (360) Bastille - Pompeii 07. (320) London Grammar - Wasting My Young Years 08. (299) Arcade Fire - Afterlife 09. (282) Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine? 10. (277) Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Sacrilege |

Caribou "Our Love"
Jamie xx "All Under One Roof Raving" Wild Beasts "Wanderlust" TĀLĀ "Serbia" Ben Khan "Youth" Tried to pick stuff others may not pick, and I might sub in a December release if Burial wakes up anytime in the next week. By the way I won't even start compiling my EOY chart using my database until 29th December so if the voting can be delayed until then that would be very much appreciated. |

By the way I won't even start compiling my EOY chart using my database until 29th December so if the voting can be delayed until then that would be very much appreciated. Noms will be open for at least two weeks so voting won't start until the 20th at the earliest and will remain open until after the start of the new year. |

is it pointless nominating songs already nominated by others or do we just nominate our top 5 even if they've already been nominated?

If something you want to nominate has already been chosen then choose something else. Thank you! Every Other Freckle - Alt J Luna - Bombay Bicycle Club (not sure if this is 2013 or not, I can't remember whether it was January 2014 or not) Cocoon - Catfish & The Bottlemen If I Could Change Your Mind - HAIM The Heat - Jungle If any of these are disallowed then take this instead: We Sink - CHVRCHES |

A. G. Cook 'Beautiful'
Billon 'Special (Danny L Harle Remix)' Hannah Diamond 'Every Night' Jagwar Ma 'Uncertainty (MssingNo Remix)' TĀLĀ 'Alchemy' I would prefer if we'd be able to nominate Danny L Harle 'Broken Flowers' and MssingNo 'Xe2' instead as they rose to Buzzjack prominence in 2014 but they're technically 2013 songs I think. |
