There was a spate of mid-00s bands with whole sentences as band names.
We Are Scientists Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. Pretty Girls Make Graves Does It Offend You, Yeah? Clap Your Hands Say Yeah And now there's the uppercase consonants name trend started by MGMT MGMT MSTRKRFT MDNGHT There's another one starting with S that I can't remember Britpop was rife with one word titled bands - Suede, Blur, Pulp, Oasis, Elastica, Sleeper. Any others? |

The late 70s was noted for its one word 'The' punk/post punk bands - Clash, Fall, Pretenders, Cure, Vapors, Jam, Members, Beat, Damned, Jags, Ruts, Skids, Stranglers, Misfits, Boys, Banned, Adverts, Knack, Nerves, Police, Rezillos, Regents, Runaways, Slits, Vibrators etc.
Apparently, Julian Cope was so appalled by this he named his band The Teardrop Explodes in order to get the longest 'new' band name only to be upset on discovering Orchestral Manoeuevres In The Dark had topped it. |

If only OMD had stuck with their original name of The Id |

Any others? SBTRKT? The one word band name started off in the early 90s: Ride, Curve, Lush, Chapterhouse, Swervedriver, Verve (before "The" was added), Moose |

don't forget about JMSN
I've been noticing a lot of capitalised (or not) pluralised basic noun barely-googleable-in-some-cases names these days. It's considered especially kewl if you rearrange vowels, change the spelling entirely but save the pronunciation or replace one letter with another~~ CHVRCHES, DEATHS, HAERTS, Banks, GRADES, Broods, Slaves, Coasts, Iyes, Honours, Thumpers.
