• Scherzland are unfortunately serving a one-contest ban for non-voting in the previous contest and may not send an entry. I imagine someone has a ban but I don't know who that is (mod edit: it's Buzzjack Mountain, Elëdan and New Lexico x)
• You may not send artists who finished in the top 3 of the previous contest
• You may also not send the same artist you sent in the previous contest.
• You may not send an entry that has been previously sent to the contest. A complete list of previous entries can be found HERE.
• You may not send a song previously sent to Eurovision
• You must at all times act like a thirsty bitch.
• You may not hint at or reveal your chosen entry publicly or privately before I do so, however you may discuss your potentials in your national thread.

For those who participate in the Popjustice Song Contest you'll know what this is, for those of you who don't, I will do my best to explain.

This month Oslol are inviting each nation to send a legends artist alongside their own entry for the main contest. Once a legend has been selected to represent each nation they will battle it out in a sports style bracket voted on by you, the jury. Any artist can be sent, there is no veto, the idea is to enter well established artists with iconique songs. For reference please see an example bracket below from one of the PJSC legends rounds...

Oooh fun. In the spirit of having quite a run of DNQs I've sent something that will almost certainly add to that run but I like it so oh well. And I want to be pleasantly surprised.

I'll have to think about what to send for my 'legend' - whatever it is it'll probably get kicked out at the first opportunity.

Confirmed! Sending a second Russian language song in a row *.* (although this one sounds nothing like the last one x it's more along the lines of LUNA but a bit more upbeat and earwormy).

Persephonia BJSCs 99-115: 2 English language songs, 4 Russian language songs.

Also BJSC finally getting a Legends round after it being done like 7 times on PopJustice! Maybe I'll finally actually progress past the first round of it this time.

The more well-known the better xx

The Legends thing is just a knockout tournament with songs by iconic artists. Clicking the link in the OP gives a good idea of what kind of songs people usually enter to it on PopJustice.

Also if a song loses one duel it still has a chance to continue in the 'losers bracket' (so a song needs to lose twice to actually be out). That's a little confusing but we trust imaduck to understand how that works.

No reason why not, it's not actually a BJSC thing. The only rule it has on PopJustice is not being able to reuse songs that were already used in a previous Legends.

I may have recycled a song I sent to one of the PopJustice Legends rounds though

Sorry I was a bit confused. imaduck only said in his opening hosting post that Scherzland was banned, so I thought the rules had been relaxed a bit for this contest because its the first legends one (and Scherzland didn't vote in both semi and final so got the extra punishment or something). But I was wrong, fair enough.

I didn't vote in the final of BJSC114 because I was away on holiday (I know, no excuse, I still should have found time to vote anyway).

Is the legends thing happening again in BJSC 116 then or are you just referring to my normal entry?

There was actually only one veto in the end xx

7/12 - moderate to high blog coverage

Mainly because Rina got vetoed before and this is probably her best known song x

Dandy's original entry which would have been auto-vetoed was 'Nice Weather For Ducks' by Lemon Jelly (a UK top 20 hit which was quite prominently featured on Radio 1's One Hit Wonder countdown a few years ago). If only xx

'Alterlife' is a much better known song than 'Have It All'. x

(also it doesn't count to the veto framework but it was another PJSC winner and even the winner of a rate of best PJSC winners so)

On the subject of duck songs, I don't know if anyone else remembers this, but I remember a while back someone seemingly just joined Buzzjack briefly to create quite a few threads asking for sales figures for of all songs, Rick Dees' song 'Disco Duck'. Sadly the threads seem to have been deleted

I thought being previously vetoed didn't count either. Was that because the song was vetoed before?

(or was that a different one? I remember Cherry getting vetoed but there was another Rina song that someone tried to confirm to no avail and I thought it was Alterlife)

It doesn't directly count to the framework but it was a factor in considering vetoing this one since it had enough veto points to be discussed. (I actually forgot that 'Cherry' had also been vetoed, 'Valentine' was the one I remembered!)
