So it seems that radio stations already have Demi Lovato's new single, and it is expected to be officially announced on July 4th - possibly premiering on July 6th or July 13th!

I'm ready for her revival. I understand the detest towards DEMI, because the album is very disjointed. As a huge fan of hers, I enjoy each song for what they are though. Looking for her to step it up like her Disney sister Selena just did.

Cannot wait, I've loved all of her albums but Unbroken (easily in my top 10 albums ever) was flawless especially and DEMI was my 2nd favourite album of 2013. She always delivers, so I'm very excited for this.

Unbroken was a grower, but with songs like Fix A Heart, Give Your Heart A Break, and Lightweight it's hard to argue against it's overall greatness.

Here We Go Again is still her peak and I wish she'd go back to a slightly evolved version of that sound.

I think Republic is under Universal? Hollywood Records is largely awful so it's great if she's with someone else, like Selena this era could be a whole new level for her if handled correctly (which is nearly impossible under Hollywood).

However, she did somehow manage four singles last era while still under Hollywood, that was a shock

Nope The only thing that changes is that things are out on Fridays worldwide, rather than Sunday in the UK, Friday in Ireland, whenever in the US, etc. It benefits the UK more in terms of albums than singles!

(plus that begins 5th July, this is out on the 1st )

The production/verses are quite plodding, it doesn't feel summery at all to me, quite the opposite. The chorus is pretty solid though, so it MIGHT grow on me.

Ok this is just keeps growing *.* It's not as summery as I expected either but it's still sounding amazing blasting out in this sunshine and it sounds like a huge hit. It's still fun pop despite being a bit more edgy, so I think it does well to maintain her usual vibe whilst being a progress in sound.

Really liking this, you can always rely on Demi to produce such brilliant pop tunes. Why isn't she bigger here in the UK, "Heart Attack" and "Skyscraper" were big hits yes, but others like "Give Your Heart A Break", "Neon Lights" & "Really Don't Care" should have smashed, I know "NL" made the top 20 but that deserved top 5 at least.

Hopefully "Cool For The Summer" will give her another hit here.

Whoa, I had the radio on in the car and this came on. I had no idea who it was during the first verse, she sounded so different. I thought it was some new artist. Then she sang the title during the chorus and I was like, "Ah." I'm pleasantly surprised by it though! Might be the first Demi track I truly like.

No it's not risky at all Both this and Good For You are similarly quite calculated (not in a bad way) ways to get hits, both are immaculately crafted pop songs with nothing missed out (in differen ways). It's different for Demi though, as is GFY for Selena, so I see where peopel thinking it's a risk comes from. It's just a shame the UK releases for this is way too late, whereas actually Selena's was way too early A medium date between GFY's release and this release would be best, oh well

I have to say this really is an incredible song and I'm not getting tired of it at all despite the amount I'm playing it. Comparing it to Run Away With Me, another song I absolutely adored released just before this, I managed to overplay that quite quickly and have stopped listening to it. Don't get me wrong, Run Away With Me is still a fabulous pop song, but Cool For The Summer is looking like one of those songs that just doesn't get old for me no matter how much I listen to it - like Shake It Off for example.

It's the other way around for me. Carly's song remains glorious, and while Demi's song is my favourite of hers to date, I've overplayed it a bit too much already and it is starting to lose its punch. I may need to ease up on playing it, so it sounds fresher by the time it's released here!

whilst the song has some really good points (those ooo's etc) she's essentially taking on a sound that's been done a bit by others already.

the real problem with the video is that demi just doesn't do that feminine male-appealing sexiness (which would make sense if the rumours are to be believed). her movements are harsh and clunky.

i can see why selena and demi's labels have pushed them in this direction now, selena manages it effortlessly and demi comes off..well, at least she's cool for the summer.

I actually think she looks quite convincing with this new whole persona. My problem actually is that I got sick of the song by like the fourth play... And I thought it would actually take me about 2 weeks to get bored of it when in fact just a night with it was enough.

I said earlier that I thought this might be the first Demi song I'd love, but so far it's stalled at "like and appreciate" for me. It has a hell of a production, but the way Demi belts always grated on me. She tones it down on this song, and she even does some interesting things with her voice ("body tah-ah-ype", the way she kind of coos on the verses which I've never heard from her before), and all of those are good things...but I just can't get past the way her voice sounds as soon as she belts the chorus. Maybe I'll learn to look past it because there are many great elements in this song and in theory I should love the final product.

Random, but 'Cool For the Summer' is randomly the WWE Theme for Summerslam (the 2nd biggest WWE Event after 'Wrestlemania' - which got David Guetta & Skylar - Rise top 50 (?) on iTunes this year!)

Very surprised that this is being released physically! Both of the CDs have good track lists too (3 remixes on each one).

I think I'll pre-order the two CD singles! (Not sure if I can justify the vinyl). I can't remember the last time I bought a 2 CD set which are both "maxi" singles.

By the way it's just three physicals isn't it, not four? Or has one been removed from the store?

I hate to admit it because my hatred for the woman is well documented, but this is really quite amazing, isn't it I can't resist it any longer, no matter how hard I try, that rock breakdown has me whipping my head around every single time.

It is so Katy though, so I shouldn't be surprised at loving it. Her voice doesn't sound so bad on this though, no painful notes or anything.

A week + late I know, but I just got around to seeing her performance at the VMA's. Absolutely brilliant! Imagine a performance like that on X Factor? It'd do the song so much chart justice! I'm hoping for a big 'Confident' performance though.

Gutted this wasn't quite the huge number 1 I expected/wanted it to be. Still slaying my existence tbh.
