Very close top 4 on radio this week and a rare debut at number one. This is Lady Gaga's 5th number one and Ariana Grande's 2nd.

It's a shame radio haven't supported Ava Max more as the public are clearly responding well to it given its chart longevity.

It’s a shame the pop stations like Capital, Kiss and Radio 1 haven’t added her to playlists. Hopefully they’ll add her following single out tuesday

A rare new entry at the top indeed, does anyone know or have a list of debuts at the top of the radio chart in the last five years or so?

I guess it was a big return from one of the biggest bands in the world. All stations likely immediately played it in week one. For me Bruce Springsteen stands out a bit, not sure was it his first new music since 'Born In The USA' in 1985??

'Orphans' may not have been a massive hit single but it's hardly surprising Coldplay get massive radio support - the song that stands out on the list as a weird one for me is 'The Climb' tongue.gif

I suppose 2009 was the 4th XF single release following the HUGE Alexandra Burke winner in 2008 so Radio will have played it first week a lot in anticipation of it entering at No1, however we all know what happened here. 🤔
