Captain Marvel 8. Watchmen (2009) 9. John Wick: Chapter 3: Parabellum 10. Game Of Thrones: The Complete Series Game Of Thrones beats Fast & Furious to the #1! Let's take a look back at how the other releases in their franchises have fared. Hobbs & Shaw is the first one to miss #1 since the original in 2002. Game Of Thrones: Season 1 (#2), Season 2 (#4), Seasons 1 & 2 Box Set (#21), Season 3 (#1), Seasons 1-3 Box Set (#12), Season 4 (#1), Seasons 1-4 Box Set (#33), Season 5 (#1), Seasons 1-5 (#40), Season 6 (#3), Seasons 1-6 Box Set (#54), Season 7 (#1), Seasons 1-7 Box Set (#34), Season 8 (#1) & Complete Collection (#36). Fast & Furious: The Fast & The Furious (#3), 2 Fast 2 Furious (#1), 2-film Box Set (#18), Tokyo Drift (#1), Fast & Furious (#1), 4-film Box Set (#10), Fast 5 (#1), 5-film Box Set (#47), Fast & Furious 6 (#1), 6-film Box Set (#26), Furious 7 (#1), 7-film Box Set (#4), Fate Of The Furious (#1), 8-film Box Set (#39) & Hobbs & Shaw (#2). Despite being the only certified fresh video-game movie on Rotten Tomatoes and the first film reaching #1 in this chart, The Angry Birds Movie 2 misses the top 10 at #11. I think everyone could see that Playmobil: The Movie (#39) was just a Lego Movie rip-off and with Lego Movie 2 under-performing it's no surprise to see Playmobil struggle too. Anya Taylor-Joy deserves better. The James Bond Collection enters for the first time in anticipation for next year's No Time To Die. This holds all the James Bond films from the first, 1962's Dr No to the most recent, 2015's Spectre. This week's other TV entries include Seven Words, One Planet (#13), Fear The Walking Dead (#46), War Of The Worlds (#69) and The Simpsons (#73). Bonus Christmas Chart! 1. (12) The Grinch 2. (16) Elf 3. (19) Home Alone/Home Alone 2: Lost In New York 4. (26) The Grinch (2000) 5. (31) Home Alone 1-4 6. (32) The Polar Express 7. (33) Mrs Brown's Boys: Christmas Corkers 8. (35) It's A Wonderful Life 9. (38) Olaf's Frozen Adventure 10. (47) The Elf On The Shelf Presents An Elf's Story 11. (58) The Nightmare Before Christmas 12. (60) Nativity Rocks 13. (62) The Nutcracker And The Four Realms 14. (66) The Muppet Christmas Carol 15. (70) Arthur Christmas 16. (72) The Santa Clause 1-3 17. (75) Elf Pets: A Fox Cub's Christmas Tale 18. Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle 72. Top Gear: Planes, Trains And Automobiles 86. A Christmas Carol (2009) 90. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 100. The Star: The Story Of The First Christmas Falling Out: Fear The Walking Dead: Fifth Season Watchmen (2009) Descendants 1-3 War Of The Worlds (2019) The Simpsons: The Complete 19th Season Alita: Battle Angel Make Us Dream Stick Man Downton Abbey: The Complete Collection Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 3, Part 2 DVD 1. The Lion King 2. Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw 3. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood 4. Toy Story 4 5. Game Of Thrones: The Complete 8th Season 6. Aladdin 7. Rocketman 8. Spider-Man: Far From Home 9. Yesterday 10. Dora And The Lost City Of Gold Blu-Ray 1. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood 2. Game Of Thrones: The Complete 8th Season 3. Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw 4. Spider-Man: Far From Home 5. The Lion King 6. Toy Story 4 7. Avengers: Endgame 8. Seven Worlds, One Planet 9. Rocketman 10. John Wick: Chapter 3: Parabellum Once Upon A Time In Hollywood gets a very deserved #1 spot. A masterpiece from one of the all-time greatest directors. If this really is his penultimate film, then he’s going out strong. Let’s look back at Tarentino’s films. Tarentino: Reservoir Dogs (#2), Pulp Fiction (#1), Jackie Brown (#3), Kill Bill: Volume 1 (#1), Kill Bill: Volume 2 (#1), Death Proof (#1), Inglourious Basterds (#3), Django Unchained (#1), The Hateful Eight (#1). Remarkable consistency. I can’t believe Inglourious Basterds is his lowest peaking as I imagine its also his 2nd best-selling in the UK behind Pulp Fiction. Dora just misses out on a top 10. This film is apparently actually surprisingly decent and is notable for inspiring the creepiest film review of the year. With Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen), Rocketman (Elton John) & Yesterday (The Beatles) in the top 10 and Last Christmas (George Michael!) doing well at the Box Office, films based on an artists discography seem like guaranteed smashes so you would have expected Blinded By The Light to be huge. However, it has had a poor opening at #16 here. Maybe you must have to be a British artist for it to be a success, sorry Springsteen. How To Train Your Dragon: Homecoming (#28) is a cheap straight-to-dvd sequel to the recently ended Dragon trilogy. It’s set in a future where everyone has forgotten of the previous good relations between humans and dragons. It was one of the year’s largest flops in the US and I’m not even sure if it reached UK cinemas but the failure doesn’t end there as UglyDolls opens at an abysmal #60. They have hired a lot of singers to voice the characters so I think they were hoping for a Trolls-like Justin Timberlake single success which would propel the film into the spotlight. That didn’t happen which meant that nobody cared. The Exorcist III finally makes the chart at #99 after a Blu-Ray re-release. This week's only TV entry is Family Guy (#43). Bonus Christmas Chart! 1. (14) The Grinch 2. (15) Elf 3. (20) Home Alone/Home Alone 2: Lost In New York 4. (24) The Grinch (2000) 5. (27) Home Alone 1-4 6. (35) The Polar Express 7. (39) Mrs Brown's Boys: Christmas Corkers 8. (40) It's A Wonderful Life 9. (45) Olaf's Frozen Adventure 10. (49) The Muppet Christmas Carol 11. (52) The Nightmare Before Christmas 12. (53) Nativity Rocks 13. (57) Arthur Christmas 14. (59) The Elf On The Shelf Presents An Elf's Story 15. (64) The Nutcracker And The Four Realms 16. (76) The Santa Clause 1-3 17. (77) Paw Patrol: Pups Save Christmas 18. (79) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 19. (86) A Christmas Carol (2009) 20. (92) Elf Pets: A Fox Cub's Christmas Tale 21. (100) The Star: The Story Of The First Christmas Falling Out: 20. (92) Stick Man |

22nd December - 28th December 2019 - Christmas Chart!
Combined DVD & Blu Ray 1. Angel Has Fallen 2. The Lion King 3. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood 4. Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw 5. Toy Story 4 6. Game Of Thrones: The Complete 8th Season 7. Rocketman 8. Spider-Man: Far From Home 9. Aladdin 10. Avengers: Endgame New Entries: 1. Angel Has Fallen 12. Olympus Has Fallen/London Has Fallen/Angel Has Fallen 16. Western Stars 22. Crawl 49. Good Boys 86. Bone Alone Other Notable: 38. A Star Is Born 40. Frozen 87. Smallfoot 92. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 96. Incredibles 2 Falling Out: Family Guy: Season 19 UglyDolls Top Gear: Planes, Trains And Automobiles Game Of Thrones: The Complete Series The Santa Clause 1-3 Elf Pets: A Fox Cub’s Christmas Tale The James Bond Collection The Exorcist III The Star: The Story Of The First Christmas DVD 1. Angel Has Fallen 2. The Lion King 3. Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw 4. Toy Story 4 5. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood 6. Rocketman 7. Game Of Thrones: The Complete 8th Season 8. Aladdin 9. Bohemian Rhapsody 10. Yesterday Blu-Ray 1. Angel Has Fallen 2. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood 3. Spider-Man: Far From Home 4. The Lion King 5. Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw 6. Game Of Thrones: The Complete 8th Season 7. Avengers: Endgame 8. Toy Story 4 9. Olympus Has Fallen/London Has Fallen/Angel Has Fallen 10. Star Wars: The Last Jedi The third in the Fallen franchise, Angel, matches the first two films and reached #1 in the home media charts. This one has a similar plot to The Fugative or any of Bourne/Mission: Impossible films where out lead is falsely accused of a crime and must evade the law to clear his name. The 3-film multi-pack enters at '12. Western Stars (#16) is a live performance of his new album by Bruce Springsteen accompanied with personal clips recorded by Springsteen himself. Crawl (#22) is an Alligator-horror film that got surprisingly solid reviews earlier this year. A woman goes looking for her missing father during a hurricane and gets trapped in his flooded home. Good Boys was a shock box-office #1 in the USA beating out The Angry Birds Movie 2. However it cannot quite replicate the same success here missing the top 40 at #49. If you want to know what it's about, imagine Superbad but with kids. Bone Alone (#86) is a 2013 film originally titled Alone For Christmas. It is essentially a remake of Home Alone but with a dog instead of Macaulay Culkin. I'm not sure how it took them 6 years to come up with the alternate title but it's obviously worked for them. Bonus Christmas Chart! 1. (15) The Grinch 2. (18) Elf 3. (19) Home Alone/Home Alone 2: Lost In New York 4. (20) Home Alone 1-4 5. (24) The Grinch (2000) 6. (31) The Polar Express 7. (32) It's A Wonderful Life 8. (42) Mrs Brown's Boys: Christmas Corkers 9. (45) The Muppet Christmas Carol 10. (47) Olaf's Frozen Adventure 11. (53) Arthur Christmas 12. (54) The Nightmare Before Christmas 13. (64) The Elf On The Shelf Presents An Elf's Story 14. (68) The Nutcracker And The Four Realms 15. (69) Nativity Rocks 16. (73) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 17. (80) Paw Patrol: Pups Save Christmas 18. (86) Bone Alone 19. (90) A Christmas Carol (2009) Falling Out: 16. (76) The Santa Clause 1-3 20. (92) Elf Pets: A Fox Cub's Christmas Tale 21. (100) The Star: The Story Of The First Christmas |

Well done Gerry Butler! The Informer (#22) is a film about an ex-convict who gets himself arrested to go undercover and investigate the mob. It stars the wonderful Joel Kinnaman, Roseamund Pike & the wonderful Ana de Armas. Invasion Planet Earth (#24) is a very cheap British apocalypse film so you know it's going to be bad. It also seems to have a faith element too. The Wolf's Call (#73) is a French submarine film where somebody needs to use their incredible sense of hearing (!) to hunt down a submarine. This week's only TV entry is Blindspot (#81). Christmas remains with The Grinch (#36), Olaf's Frozen Adventure (#70), Home Alone 1-4 (#79) & It's A Wonderful Life (#99). Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 3, Pt. 2 Other New Entries - 25. Being There Angel Has Fallen gets a 4th week at the top which makes it the most successful film to be released in some time. I don't know for sure but I think we'd have to go back to something like Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again for the last time that's happened. 2020 officially starts now in the home-media chart and would it be January without Rise Of The Footsoldier gaining an inexplicable top 10? This year it's Marbella (#3) and the Ultimate Collection (#29) following the original film (#7) Part 2 (#2) The Pat Tate Story (#9). Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark has a solid opening at 5. Del Toro produced this based on the children's book series. It apparently is surprisingly decent. The Great War (#13) is the first generic war film to chart of 2020. This one stars Billy Zane & Ron Pearlman. We also get our first straight-to-DVD release from a once bankable star of the decade with Nicholas Cage's Grand Isle (#55). This one is about a man charged with murder but is.. wait for it... innocent and must prove his case. I know, so original! Expect to see many similar releases from Cage, Bruce Willis & John Travolta throughout the 20's. This week's TV entries include Gavin & Stacey (#8), Big Little Lies (#18), Still Open All Hours (#48) and WWE (82). |

Somewhat surprised to see Angel Has Fallen have 4 weeks at #1 in the DVD Chart. Thanks again for posting this, Lewis.
