It will be interesting to see how the new singles fare against the older tracks! I can definitely see My Own Souls Warning contending for Top 10 with Caution lower in the Top 20. I’d also appreciate a climb for Run For Cover too, seeing as it’s done nothing but grow stronger on me in the last two years and is definitely up there with the classics

I might also add The Way it Was as a bonus as it's on Direct Hits and Brandon said in hindsight it should have been a single!

I am here for a The Killers single rate x -forgets to vote in it anyway-
'Caution' is still easily the best single from this era so far tho (although I do like 'My Own Soul's Warning' a fair amount too) |

Tracklisting revealed!
1. My Own Soul's Warning [4:34] 2. Blowback [4:00] 3. Dying Breed [4:06] 4. Caution [4:29] 5. Lightning Fields (feat. k.d. lang) [4:18] 6. Fire in Bone [3:53] 7. Running Towards a Place [4:13] 8. My God (feat. Weyes Blood) [3:38] 9. When the Dreams Run Dry [4:42] 10. Imploding the Mirage [4:07] Early reviews are starting to come out, and I'm incredibly excited for 'My God'! The Sunday Times wrote about it: QUOTE There is a new song by the Killers called My God that is so overblown, it reminds you how both ridiculous and exhilarating big rock music can be. It is a mode that suits this band well. Their best-known songs, Mr Brightside and Human, occupy territory between the absurd and absolutely brilliant, and My God is no different. Towards its end, the cult American singer Weyes Blood coos a gorgeous bridge, before the whole thing climaxes in a tumult of choirs and drums, with the frontman, Brandon Flowers, chanting at peak preacher range. It is fabulous.

Weyes Blood is an interesting choice of collaborator, looking forward to hearing that song! (Not an artist I have heard much from but I have been meaning to get into her stuff more as the BJSC entry 'Movies' was an excellent song and her album got pretty much blanket positive reception)

opposite for me, Dying Breed is what I'd like the Killers to sound all the time, more bold and risky
a million times better than Caution |

Ronnie has confirmed that Dave Keuning will return to the band for their next album! He's been on a break since WW and ITM will be their first album without him.

I've relistened to all of The Killers' albums this week and I'd rank them:
1. Battle Born 2. Wonderful Wonderful 3. Day & Age 4. Hot Fuss 5. Sam's Town If ITM lives up to the singles I can see this slotting in at #2 or #3 and perhaps #1 after some time! |
