Anyone at all gonna be watching the Shoot Out during the next 4 days on ITV4?

Posted by: Cabaye 25th February 2017, 09:30 PM

Great viewing and love the format.

Posted by: Mack 25th February 2017, 10:04 PM

As long as just once a year. Crowd obsessed with the yellow.

I really do wish Clive Everton would retire now after his commentary in the Shootout last week.

Great win for Judd Trump. Looking a contender for the World Championship.

Posted by: Mack 15th March 2017, 07:35 PM

Interesting story here regarding Stuart Bingham:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/snooker/39284623

Hope it's nothing too serious here.

Posted by: Flatcap 15th March 2017, 09:39 PM

It doesn't sound as serious as the other case highlighted in that article. I am looking forward to watching some of the snooker this year.

Posted by: Mack 15th March 2017, 10:37 PM

Probably hopefully just a warning for Bingham. Hope in-form Anthony Hamilton qualifies for the Worlds this year he won his first ranking title at the age of 45 at the German Masters last month.

Posted by: Flatcap 16th March 2017, 07:18 PM

Also from what Bingham said, perhaps rewriting the rules in clearer language. He understood he couldn't bet on his own matches. Perhaps the governing body might consider that from what I have read of this situation.

Ryan Day sweating over his place for the Top 16. He's safe as along as Mark Williams and Stephen Maguire don't win the China Open.

Posted by: Mack 30th March 2017, 11:38 AM

Judd Trump making a fantastic 147 to beat Tian Pengfei 5-3. He'll be amongst the favourites for the World Championship.

He still is.

As Mark Williams is through to the semi-final and Maguire is playing Selby in the quarter-finals today.

Posted by: Cabaye 31st March 2017, 09:47 PM

Somebody to beat Mark Williams and stop him making the Top 16. He's a sore loser.

No he isn't

He's a two-time world champion and one of the best players I've seen. He's proven that he is by no-means dropped off his game. Big match tomorrow between him and Selby.

What's wrong with him?

Posted by: Cabaye 2nd April 2017, 05:34 PM

No sorry about that mate. A great final between the two Marks. Never write off Williams.

How stupid are these players ?

Joe Perry has been given a three-month ban - suspended until May 2018 - for breaching rules on betting on matches.

Perry, 42, admitted placing 193 bets between September 2009 and June 2013 worth £2,806.49, making a profit of £832.09.

The WPBSA said that when giving evidence, Perry said he had placed the bets "purely out of boredom or distraction".

With an snooker trick shot yes, but not possible on a regular game of snooker.

Ding Junhui has won the Yushan World Open a few days ago.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/snooker/41385209

Next event is the European Masters starting on the 2nd October.

Posted by: Mack. 29th September 2017, 11:01 AM

Well done Ding a great week and a good week for Kyren surely Ding will win the world title one day. He's too good not too.

Posted by: Mack. 29th September 2017, 02:22 PM

Seems on Twitter that Ronnie O'Sullivan has confirmed that he will come and retain his Masters title in January, no news on any other tournaments that he's going to be playing in.

For what reason?

Posted by: HeadlessJockey 22nd October 2017, 10:01 PM

Like him or loathe him.

Ronnie was unplayable in that final. I doubt there's ever been a pot success rate of 98% before and will probably never be seen again.

2015 World Champion Stuart Bingham has been banned for six months for betting breaches.

Posted by: HeadlessJockey 24th October 2017, 10:16 PM

Stupidity from Bingham during when he has had the best five years of his career. Becoming world champion, a top player.

Why the need to bet on his own games?

Posted by: vidcapper 5th November 2017, 07:23 AM

Snooker can be such a confusing sport - a player can perform brilliantly one day, then get pasted the next! wacko.gif

e.g. Yan Bingtau beats Ronnie O'Sullivan 6-1 & John Higgins 6-2, then loses 9-2 to Mark Allen. huh.gif

Posted by: Mack'sXmasSack 5th November 2017, 11:17 PM

Well done to Mark Selby on beating Mark Allen 10-7 to win the International Championship.

Posted by: Mack'sXmasSack 9th November 2017, 08:44 AM

What a fantastic clearance by Luca Brecel to win the match 6-4!

Great day for Luca, beat Judd Trump 4-0 and Mark Selby in a best of 11 match on the same day.

Posted by: Mack'sXmasSack 9th November 2017, 11:15 PM

It wasn't the greatest of matches between Ronnie and Higgins as Ronnie won 6-0

Pretty average stuff before the interval but Ronnie turned on the style with back to back centuries to close the match out.

How many times has JH ever been whitewashed 6-0? ohmy.gif

Posted by: Mack'sXmasSack 12th November 2017, 11:37 PM

Well done Shaun! He was the better player over the course of the whole day and deserved to win. Always say he needs to win more events so hopefully beating Ronnie in a big final should give him huge confidence in the future.

Posted by: vidcapper 17th November 2017, 09:50 AM

Just found out that Jack Lizowski is from my home town of Cheltenham. smile.gif

What a great final in prospect for the Shanghai Masters O'Sullivan v Trump!

Just in case you recorded the semis to watch later. wink.gif

Posted by: Mack'sXmasSack 17th November 2017, 08:20 PM

Should be a great final tomorrow I think Ronnie will win it 10-5 if on top gear.

Judd not a good loser

As he proved today as he conceded the match 52 behind with 7 reds remaining after missing a pot.

A small fine won’t worry him at all but it’s not nice to see this in the game. Lack of professionalism.

But then again, rebels have always attracted the biggest crowds, ever since Alex Higgins... wink.gif

Posted by: Mack'sXmasSack 24th November 2017, 03:26 PM

I enjoyed watching Alex Higgins as for Judd I just didn't see why he needed to do that, he's no Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Posted by: Mack'sXmasSack 17th December 2017, 10:55 PM

Feel so bad for Cao Yupeng. He won't be forgetting them three missed pots in frame 16 for a while with the black missing by inches and being 8-4 up. Hope he goes on to win a tournament one day because you don't get any closer to winning than that.
