THE NOMINATIONS ROUND

You may nominate up to 40 tracks from Melodifestivalens 2002 - 2018. Anyone at all may nominate, whether you're a seasoned veteran or just joined in the past few years. However I am imposing a few rules:

-You must nominate at least 5 tracks.
-You may not nominate more than 5 tracks from the same year.
-You may not nominate more than 3 tracks from the same artist.

The 40 tracks with the most nominations will be split into 4 heats of 10, the top 3 of each going Direkt Till Final, the next 3 going to Andra Chansen and the bottom 4 getting a one way ticket home on the Janet Leon megabus.

I'll leave nominations open for a week at first, I'll only extend the deadline if there isn't a sufficient amount of nominations so have your say early!

There were quite a few savage cuts from 40 to 60 (including some tactical omissions like Hero - sorry Adam) but I think those are the 40 I want to nominate.

So thanks to everyone who nominated in this, I hope you'll stick with us for the duration! 163 tracks received at least 1 nomination which shows the vast depths of variety Melodifestivalen can deliver. The following 32 received 4 or more nominations and thus qualified directly to the heats:

Then there were 17 songs that received 3 nominations.



To get these down to the final 8 to make a grand total of 40, I removed artists that had already had a song qualify in the first 32 (Ace, Charlotte, Janet, Måns, Samir & Viktor, Sanna and Martin Rolinski, as he qualified with BWO). That left me with 10 (argh!) so JEM got the cut due to four 2014 songs already qualifying and I flipped a coin to determine Mariette's entry. 'A Million Years' won and thus completes the final line-up. I thought that was the fairest way of doing it without dragging this on longer than it already has been with another poll round.

The first heat will be up very soon so HYPE SNÄLLA (SNÄLLA)
