Extreme E teams will field one female and one male driver during races when the new climate-aware racing competition begins in 2021.
The series said it wanted to promote "gender equality and a level playing field" within motorsport. |

Ferrari have again suggested they may be on the verge of entering Indycar, most likely as an engine supplier. In this way they can retain their employees following F1's cost cap.
They were on the verge of doing so back in 2018 until Marchionne passed away and the annuncement was put on hold. https://www.racefans.net/2020/05/14/ferrari-indycar/ |

In case you missed it. Not the most exciting race ever but just good to have any racing back. After a few laps you don't even think about the lack of fans much |

That's the thing with motorsports, during the races themselves i don't hear or take any notice of the fans like I would in football, boxing or darts for example. I think of all the sports its the least likely to negatively affected the event *itself* tho of course before/after environment will be noticeably different.

Alex Zanardi is having surgery on a head injury after an accident during a handbike relay in his native Italy.
The 53-year-old was involved in a crash with a lorry in Pienza on Friday. He was taken by helicopter to Siena's Le Scotte, where the hospital said he was in a "very serious" condition and "undergoing a delicate neurosurgery". Zanardi had both legs amputated after crashing in the American Memorial 500 Cart race at Lausitz, Germany, in 2001. He has since become a four-time Paralympic handcycling gold medallist. "You have never given up and with your extraordinary fortitude you have overcome a thousand difficulties," said Italian prime minister Giuseppe Conte on Twitter. "Come on Alex Zanardi, don't give up. All of Italy is fighting with you." |
