QUOTE 14 October 2016 Singles Will Young - All Time Love - Silver - Released: 2006 200k Albums Will Young - The Essential Will Young - Silver - Released: 2013 60k Just shows how music keeps selling. The last figure I had for the Essential in 2013 (32k) The last figure I had for ATL is 157k but not sure of the date. This post has been edited by truly talented: Oct 28 2016, 03:29 PM |

Thanks for the update TT. I'd seen the info for the Essentials album but the ATL figure is new to me.

The great thing is particularly singles those sales are sold and not just shipped...
I can't believe how well The Essential has done! 60k is amazing with barely any promotion. That's almost half 85% Proof... Surely 85% Proof is at least 100k now.. This post has been edited by sajjadali: Nov 2 2016, 02:56 PM |

The album sales were 87k at the end of 2015 so I would think it won't be too far away from gold but may take a while to trickle sell to that milestone.

I'm a tad surprised to be honest as you'd think appearing on Strictly would make it sell a few hundred copies a week. 13k isn't a lot, but I guess leaving early didn't exactly help him. |

Nopes. It's still only certified Silver and since awards are given out on an automatic basis these days it means it haven't passed that treshold. Is that on shipped or sales? Maybe it with downloads has done it? It's a brilliant album , should have sold at least that! |

Sales. In the old days (well, pre-July 2013) it used to be shipped, but that was when labels had to apply to certify them. Thanks... It's just as well Wills label took ages to apply for these things anyway... So it's not even sold 100k! Wow. I really thought it had sold at least that considering the What The World Needs Now Is Love re-release... No wonder he had trouble with his Island deal..i know he is renogiating but that won't cover costs of 4 singles plus Like A River too. I thought Brave Man would help shift albums it never did same with WTWNNIL. A shame! Maybe he should have just stuck with Sony Music they knew what they were doing with him. With no airplay or tv promo the re-release was never going to garner many sales. 85% Proof sold well all things considered. |

With no airplay or tv promo the re-release was never going to garner many sales. 85% Proof sold well all things considered. He did have Brave Man & What The World Needs Now Is Love.... I can't get over the fact that he had Love Revolution, Thank You, Brave Man, Joy not to mention a promo video for Like A River as well as WTWNNIL and he's only sold 100k...or not even that! He got 4 singles and not one was a hit What a shame. It's a shame radio wasn't supporting him this time round. |

23/03/2017 Jealousy GOLD. Jealousy' sold 270k in 2011; 130k sold since So thats 400k sold then? Amazing! We forget how huge Jealousy was. He needs another hit like that! Any update on 85% Proof, can't believe The Essential sound almost equal or slightly less! Surely it must be close to 100k? |

85% proof is his best album by far - it should have sold a lot better.
