Anything about Cheryl that doesn't need its own thread!
Cheryl will be on the Graham Norton show on June 20 (the day before the Summertime Capital Ball).
I really don't get her team's srategy, why would she do so much promotion in June when the song is out July 20?
So that it deservedly flops? *.*
I guess it's just when she can actually get a slot booked - it might be booked up around the time the single's out maybe? I get your point though, but I guess promo a month before the release is better than no promo at all.
The Graham Norton Show series usually end at the beginning of July. Regardless, I doubt she'll be performing the song, rather promoting her appearance at the Summertime Ball.
I agree about all the promo being so far before the single release. Surely, it would have been better to launch the single just after the BGT performance and then use the Graham Norton and Capital summertime ball as additional promo to prolong its chart run and sales?!
The BGT performance that we still have no confirmation about...
August cover for Elle UK :
Cheryl performed at the Summertime Ball earlier! She did Fight For This Love, Crazy Stupid Love and Call My Name, the performances were great Probably available to watch right now on the Capital website!
She was ICONIC last night at the Ball ! She's so phenomenal on stage
FFTL and CMN: http://www.capitalfm.com/artists/cheryl-cole/performances/fight-for-this-love-summertime-ball-2014/
CSL: http://www.capitalfm.com/artists/cheryl-cole/performances/crazy-stupid-love-summertime-ball-2014/
Indeed. Her miming was both phenomenal and ICONIC .
(She is a good performer though)
Why would I be disappointed by that?! I listened to 'Crazy Stupid Love' and the start of 'Call My Name' and it all sounded mimed to me. Very clear, consistent (albeit slightly flat) vocals and a lot of wide angle camera shots compared to other artists. I'm nearly sure that it was a pre-recorded track.
Well, watch it again then. It was live vocals and you can clearly hear her breathe all the way though it (and you don't hear her breath on pre-recorded tracks).
It's not even surprising considering she has always done most of her BBC Big Week-ends and Capital Balls live.
People who thing she can't sing 3 songs live at a gig really need to revise the whole lotta Girls Aloud history.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree. I'd imagine she has different 'live' tracks that she uses depending on the event if there's obvious breathing differences, as you say. By the way, I'm not doubting she can sing live. She just chooses not to a lot of the time for whatever reason and it seems this was one such time.
Lol, whatever.
Just because her vocals sounded incredibly shit, dull and flat it doesn't mean she wasn't miming lol.
Calum that's not really helping - it's your opinion that her vocals were like that, not a fact.
At the end of the day, it was quite hard to tell if she was miming I thought, I was trying to work it out throughout but there were no obvious giveaways. She *could* have been miming, but she also could not have been. Regardless, she *can* sing live and she only typically mimes because of the dance routines, and no-one can deny how great a performer she is.
Anyway, this tweet: https://twitter.com/TerryFBH/status/480109918251671552/photo/1
"Does Cheryl Cole have three legs? #BBC1"
Please can someone explain that three leg photo because that's creepy
That's ENOUGH - Calum if you make ONE more post on this topic, I'll be getting a global mod involved. I've deleted your posts because they were attacks on myself (note: I would do the same if it attacked anyone else), and they were therefore not at all related to the topic. Please move on from here.
I'm not entirely sure what's happening here but remember people have opinions; both Calum and Joseph. It's just a little internet discussion so no need to stoop to anything personal. Hopefully that's the last on that matter.
Re: Third leg, her skirt is causing a shadow across her right thigh!
I think big events like that need to be live because people have payed money to go there. She can sing live, I just think people instantly think she is miming if the performance sounds decent
It sounds mimed to me tbh, I'm not an expert at detecting who is and isn't miming though, although if she is singing live she clearly has some kind of autotuned microphone thing on cause it just doesn't sound human to me Although saying all this, Call My Name sounds considerably more live than Fight For This Love..
Cheryl's reaction to us accusing her of miming:
I can't believe this honourable thread has descended into BLATANT upskirt examinations .
I miss the days of the miming accusations . Hopefully she'll perform on a TV show (or anywhere) soon .

Happy 31st birthday to Cheryl.

Married again.
Came here to post that
After 3 months already? In Crazy Stupid Love indeed
Not to be cynical (I am being cynical) but with a new single called Crazy Stupid Love coming out soon, you might think this was a planned thing, with all the references to that title you can make in the press (and I may have been doing on twitter)
That's wonderful news! Congrats to them both, hope they're very happy together
OMG!
Happy news, I wish her and Jean-Bernard the best !
In a day and age where Kanye and Kim have advertised their wedding for the last 2 years, I like that she's dealt with it privately.
Yay !
3 months? Hopefully it works out, I want her to have a good press year. It will help with the single though
We don't know since when they are dating. She first officialised it in Cannes posting a picture with him, but maybe they were dating for months. She's been single for over a year and a half.
Am I the only one thinking a baby is on its way? That would explain why they're getting married early and why she didn't confirm a tour yet.
If she kept the wedding quiet, she might have kept the whole relationship quiet for a while too, who knows how long they were together? Congrats anyway!
Any word to whether or not she is taking his name and dropping her cheating ex's ?
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini would be a fierce popstar name actually
Congratulations to the pair! I must say I was shocked when I saw the headlines at work this morning!
So pleased for her.
I guess a snap wedding was on her f*ck it list!
I really want a cheeky Instagram of the ceremony. I wonder who was there? No Kimba and Nic?
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/news/a584353/its-official-cheryl-cole-is-now-cheryl-fernandez-versini.html
Changed her name. No idea where that leaves her stage name though. Back to 'Cheryl' again I guess? The X Factor voiceover NEEDS to happen though - Nu Rachel Adedeji in the making!
EDIT: She's changed her Twitter name to simply 'Cheryl'.
Hey guys, does anyone know where I can get a gif of Cheryl from the Love Machine video when she soaks that guy?
She did the ALS ice bucket challenge : https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152597161915139
And she nominated Liam Payne (white t-shirt please ), Piers Morgan and Nicola Roberts !
Rude t-shirt
Good grief. Cannot unsee.
Yesssss ! Let's vote !
So there's no way to vote if you're not on Twatter?
Nope!
She is the UK wildcard nomination for the EMAs!
I hope she wins the award proper. Is it public voted again?
Fantastic!
YAY Would've been happy with either her or The Vamps getting it (not sure who the other nominees were) so very glad one of the managed it, really hope she wins the actual award now!
Vote here: http://uk.mtvema.com/vote#cat=best-uk-ireland
I just voted for Wannabe. Cheryl clearly doesn't need any help there!
Cheryl will be appearing alongside Mel B on Jonathan Ross tomorrow night at 10pm, can't wait
I'm ready. *.*
*.*
It was a great interview! Wasn't feeling Mel B's look... but she was really funny! I really hope they do work together musically (that's the Spice loon in me coming out ) and I hope they get their wish of a Spice Girls v Girls Aloud week.
Mel B really didn't look great But she was on fire, and I loved the two of them being interviewed together, they really do seem to get along so well Really nice to not have any "female judges feud" rumours this year.
I think Mel really helped bring that fire and personality that's been lacking in Cheryl's interviews of late which was much welcomed and a really funny show.
Also Cheryl was the only judge speaking sense by the end of last nights X Factor show.
No words...
It's all about the rap haha.
The facial expressions during the dancing parts are scarily spot on...
OMG!
The 'Something New' parody is so much better.
They finally 'fixed' her spotify problem of having two pages - 'Cheryl' and 'Cheryl Cole'. Now everything comes under 'Cheryl'. It was always weird having to switch artist pages to listen to different albums. Sanity now resumes.
Fabulous! I want them to fix her iTunes credit now and have everything under Cheryl.
Would be interesting if all of her available downloads were changed to 'Cheryl' retrospectively!
I'm still unsure about whether to start scrobbling her as just 'Cheryl' on last.fm or not! *first world problems*
I know Jay! I want to change her to Cheryl but it's just time consuming, wish there was just an option to change the name of an artist on there.
I rescrobbled all of mine the other night, took a few hours but happy with it now
I've just done mine but got a little carried away with the scrobble button.
Going over the limit is the most annoying thing ever as deleting them is just a PAIN, ended up going over by about 30 scrobbles on one track oops!

What a crap interview. Literally no promotion or discussion of the album. Odd.
On the positive side, the song got a huge boost on iTunes!

Oh friggin' hell! The rivalry is revealed haha
Oh dear lol
My friend at Attitude warned me this was coming, but I wasn't expecting it to be that bad. Apparently she 'wanted' this to go viral though.
Yay! I'm glad Cheryl finally told her side of the story. It was annoying how for so long Nadine was blaming everyone but would get away with it.
I'll be #TeamNuhdeen to the grave, but I can understand where Cheryl is coming from, although I don't know why it's been trudged up so severely, now. They were congratulating each other on babies and weddings more recently.
No chance of TWENTY then in 2022
It's sad to hear that come from Cheryl's mouth but Nadine has been saying very nasty things and she's completely true about her wanting to go solo more than most! Maybe they'll come back as a three piece?!
I wish they'd just resolve their issues and let things lie. I swear these girls were more mature when they were 17-21 than they are now, when they're (almost) all in their 30s.
It's really sad that they had such a successful thing going on as a group, and they always promised that this sort of thing would never happen (bitching, fall-outs) but it has and in a big way. They've really tarnished the group for me - not the music itself, but the actual group which I truly loved.
Up until 2008 I honestly thought that they all got on incredibly well; I never believed all the stories from over the previous years. But in 2008 I did start to think that perhaps things weren't exactly perfect between them, such as Nadine not turning up to the Brits (even though they still made out that everything was fine - see the image I've posted at the bottom of this post). Despite those doubts, I definitely didn't think that things were quite as bad as Kimberley made out that they were in her autobiography, and I never thought Cheryl would speak this way about Nadine. Up until now Cheryl has been really diplomatic when it comes to her. So that's a bit of a shame.
Honestly, I don't think Nadine is a perfect angel or innocent in this whole situation. But for all the "wrong" things she did, it was 5/6 years ago now. Can't they let bygones be bygones already? They all ended up doing solo things during the break and all seemed to enjoy the time spent away from the group (give or take Sarah who had some personal problems). So for some of them to still resent Nadine for the 2009 hiatus decision seems a bit... irrelevant, these days? Would Cheryl really have wanted things to have worked out any differently? Her solo career has been hugely successful, and if the hiatus hadn't happened when it did, then maybe Cheryl would have missed her chance to be at the right place at the right time with her solo music.
They really should have put all of this to bed when they reunited in 2012. Kind of frustrating that the reunion was clearly quite forced. It was seemingly more of an "ugh, let's get this over with then" ordeal than a genuine celebration.
... major lolz~
Anyway, it's kind of strange to me how Cheryl lambasted Nadine purely for the 2009 hiatus thing and didn't really answer to anything about what happened in 2013. Is she trying to say that Nadine deserved what she got in 2013 as a pay back for what she did in 2009? Sigh.
The words 'full of shit' are uncalled for as well. Why say that so long after the incident when you've been congratulating each other on babies and marriages on twitter since all the drama. Why bring it all up to boiling point again. It's a shame for all the fans who enjoy Girls Aloud as a unit.
As much as it's unpleasant to see them like this, at the same time I can understand why the girls feel this way towards Nadine right now if Nadine had forced a break that none of the rest cared for. As much as it worked out very well for Cheryl in the end and as much as I'm sure Nadine regrets what happened in 2009, a "being held to ransom" situation probably got very unpleasant indeed and I think it's understandable that a lot of resentment towards Nadine would be fostered amongst the girls?
At the end of the day, we only know the (apparent) basics of what happened. Nadine forced the break in 2009 against the will of the others and in 2013, the rest of them forced the split against the will of Nadine. We don't really know just how things went down in 2009 but I feel like it's pretty reasonable for the relationship between two people to break if one person (in this case, Nadine) was forcing their will upon them for largely selfish reasons. Putting things in the past is lovely but who knows if Nadine ever even apologised for pushing the break so hard.
It's kind of strange that in her autobiography, Cheryl made out that nearly everyone was satisfied with taking a hiatus at that moment, bar Nicola who had expressed that she thought it was crazy to slow down at that point. I don't recall that she put any specific blame on Nadine though.
Kimberley did express a different point of view though, and wrote that she felt that Nadine had held them to ransom.
I do feel like they could attempt to get over it by now, given how long ago it was. I'm sure if the other 4 had decided that taking a hiatus at that moment wasn't in their best interests then they'd have fought for it not to happen, and surely 4 is stronger than 1 in a decision like that? It certainly seemed to be on the last date of the Ten tour...
The way Cheryl has so publically come out with all this and directed very much at Nadine makes me think maybe there's more than meets the eye to this. Could it be that they just really didn't like each other the whole 10 years? From what I can remember they've never been particularly close? Kimberley and Nadine were inseperable in the first year or so and then gradually Kimberley drifted over to Cheryl and Nicola.
Though I don't agree with how Cheryl has done this, was their any need? Her career is clearly not in need of the headlines and there's been no recent mutterings from Nadine about all this. In the interview, she could have just said something like 'don't believe everything you read'. I think the general public would seem more willing to side with Cheryl. It's all very bitter and bitchy from both parties and a real shame that it's tainted a legacy such as 'Girls Aloud'.
I definitely agree that all sides have to share the blame when it comes to this situation. There's always two sides to every story and Nadine probably feels wronged while certain others in the group feel like Nadine is the only one in the wrong. It seems like they will never find common ground and try to understand the other's point of view. I certainly don't think any of them will think "we're all to blame in some way".
I know Nadine didn't have to say what she said in her recent interview, and it was probably a bad move, but she clearly felt spurned by the others for how it all ended. Perhaps she lacks insight into how she was 4 years earlier and didn't know that the other girls felt like she was holding them to ransom. Maybe the girls have never sat her down and calmly made Nadine aware about how they felt about the hiatus back in 2009?
To be fair on Nadine, it was 5 albums down the line and for a girl group that sort of longevity was pretty extraordinary in the first place, 7 years. Nadine had been offered solo deals from the very start of Girls Aloud (apparently even by Louis Walsh, Girls Aloud's manager at the time!) but she rejected those offers to stay with the girls for years. She did show loyalty for a long time. She moved to America in 2007 buts still commuted to the UK for two years for the sake of the group (bar missing the Brits which was a bit dodgy admittedly). Maybe when Cheryl signed up to the X Factor in 2008, Nadine thought that there must also be life outside of Girls Aloud for her, not just for Cheryl? I do find it slightly unfair that all the blame is placed on Nadine for wanting to explore her solo career, when Cheryl was already starting to do her own thing away from the group. In fact while the girls were on the 'Out of Control' tour, plans were already in place for Cheryl to start recording a solo album, way before the hiatus began.
I know I seem biased towards Nadine but it's more a case of wanting to defend her a bit, because she's had so much flack over the entire time Girls Aloud have existed, and even if there have been times when she may have deserved it, I don't think she deserves *all* of the flack.
Hahaha, that interview reminds me why I used to like her so much. She's so much more interesting like this than her bogus "nation's sweetheart" persona.
I think Nadine probably was no angel and often could have been a bit of a nightmare to work with at times but I wouldn't rule out a bit of ganging up / scape-goating here. Nicola seems to just follow everything cheryl says. I don't know about Sarah, I'm not sure if she knows what's going on half the time. It must have been difficult for Nadine with Cheryl's popularity, because a majority of Girls Aloud's signature sound is because of her vocals, so I can see why she might have felt hard done by to a point.
Nadine gets a huge amount of flack but she hasn't publicly said anything bad about the girls has she? Apart from saying it was them that wanted the split and not her.
All this stuff about the girls makes me feel so sad - they're essentially throwing 10 years down the drain. I wish they'd just let bygones be bygones. Obviously both parties have their own faults, and it's good now to hear both sides of the story I guess, but even so, it's tainting them as a group for myself and many others I imagine. (obviously not musically, that cannot be tainted *.*)
I thought Bruce was there for the Out of Control tour, not Tangled Up? Pretty sure he wasn't on the scene until 2009. As far as I can tell he's not mentioned in Kimberley's book until the Out of Control tour era is discussed.
Cheryl's book, page 176 of 'My Story' hard back:
How are they not going to be aware of him being her manager if even the press knew about him in 2007?
It didn't bother them until 2009? Yeah, because having your own manager when being in a girlband is the most normal thing to do.
I'm not patronising but I remember very well all the drama at GAM and at the official forum.
Kimberley's book also only references him being around in 2009/Out of Control tour. So in any case two of them have said that he wasn't hanging around Nadine & Girls Aloud until that point, not the Tangled Up tour. I don't think Kimberley would have missed the opportunity to say if Nadine & Bruce were bothering her earlier than she said.
Maybe he was involved in handling Nadine's affairs in America from 2007, away from the girls. Evidently it seems like he was no bother to the other members of Girls Aloud until 2009. That seems to be one of the main reasons why the hiatus even occurred that year, because the girls were put out when they found out that Nadine had a manager/didn't understand why she needed one.
Not that it really matters anyway. I reckon the girls would have imploded even earlier than they did if Bruce was around them for two tours!
I would implode if BAB was around me for two minutes!
Taking no shit.
Yasss Cheryl *.*
Cheryl the spelling & grammar nazi *_*
Apologies if there's a separate thread but did anything happen with the EMA nomination?
Did anyone see Amelle's (yeah I know, who?) shade on Twitter this week?
https://twitter.com/Amelle_Berrabah/status/532534019351920640
I mean it's not that shocking it hasn't been picked up, what with her minimal follower count.
Jealousy looks ugly on you hunnay.
Jealousy is ugly indeed.
I guess she never got over that moment when Cheryl told Amelle's sister "Are you the mam?"
Ah!
"I felt like a right twat"
http://www.capitalfm.com/artists/cheryl-cole/news/sings-spice-girls-mel-b-rap/
Cheryl doing Mel B's Wannabe rap!
So do you think this will be Cheryl's last album?
Unfortunately for us that actually enjoy Cheryl the popstar it's a shame she makes a lot more money from everything else she does compared to music.
I would love for her to release some EPs from time to time, 4 or 5 songs that could easily be a single instead of a complete album. With streaming I think we'll start seeing shorter albums again since album sales are at its lower point.
I can see her getting pregnant next year... She's already 31 and I don't think she'll wait much longer.
I definitely can't see it being her last album, she seems to be enjoying performing more than in any of her solo eras right now and has definitely found the perfect sound for her. Would be a crying shame if she stopped after this.
I suppose it depends on whether Cheryl & the label feel it's worth while or not! Although she's recently achieved 2 more #1 singles, the album hasn't set the charts alight, maybe she'll become a bit disillusioned by that. And yeah, a baby could well be on the way once this 'era' is over.
I'm already jealous of the unborn Fernandez-Versini baby.
Would much rather Girls Aloud kissed, made up and reunited than another Cheryl album.
I think Cheryl will continue to make music, she's more of a successful singles seller now rather than an album artist.
But I definitely think she'll do a few more albums. With Only Human I think she should release a few more singles and then maybe a re-release mid June (BGT performance of a new single perhaps) just to push the album sales. Also maybe a tour around that time too.
Despite how up herself Cheryl has acted regarding the whole Nadine thing i take no pleasure in her flopping. I actually bought the deluxe bosxet so maybe i am pissed at her but thats it.
Her album is flopping there is no getting over that.
To sell just 29k in two weeks with the exposure she has had with 2 no.1 singles under her belt ain't good at ALL. I am actually abit concerned for her record deal you have to go at least platinum these days to be profitable. I feel she was given a lifeline with A Million Lights only shifting 100k, any other artist and they would have been dropped. She really needs do at least 200k-300k by the end of this campaign. I really thought she'd do really really well considering both her singles literally flew to No.1. Cheryl hasn't looked as happy as she did 2 weeks ago on the XF - she is clearly concerned about her album sales. I really thought XF would get her back up to her Album 1 and 2 sales but i guess i was wrong. I mean lets be honest she only agreed to go on XF because she knows how much it helped her before. I know Call My Name managed to get to No.1 but the album sold very poorly, she didn't even go platinum. I cant see her being one of the big XMas sales sellers at the moment. Oh and considering how badly she is selling Nadine and Sarah have NO chance with their new albums next year sadly.
I mean even with a third single even if it went No.1 i cant see how that could drastically help the sales she already has two number 1 one's on there and people still dont want it.
The thing with acts like Cheryl and The Saturdays is that they make FAR more money with stuff like endorsements and deals than they do with the music. So the management aren't going to drop them when for the price of recording an album every 12-18 months can make them so much back with endorsements.
The album sales are disappointing not only for the time of year and her profile but also for (in my opinion) step-up in quality from her last one. It's quite clear now that Cheryl is a 'singles artist' these days but there's nothing wrong with that! I think with streaming and the way we consume music changing so fast 10-15 track albums will soon probably be a thing of the past and we'll be getting annual 5 track EPs, like they do 99% of the time in Scandinavia.
I agree with Adam. She's not the only artist massively suffering with poor album sales in this current climate. Albums are quickly becoming a thing of the past. People have stopped buying albums like they used. I hardly ever but any albums these days. Yes I bought Cheryl's but the album I bought before that was kylie right back at the start of the year. However I have bought many many singles and streamed other artists. Cheryl is still profitable because she's current and as she sells more and more singles, her touring will sell well which we all know is where artists really make their money these days.
I think the reason she agreed to go on X-Factor was for the megabucks that was being offered for her to be on the panel. I know I'd care more about that than selling an album that would make me pennies from selling tons of it due to no creative involvement. The pots of gold for Cheryl lie in endorsement and being on that X-Factor judging panel, I know if I was her that would be my main concern.
Yup very true. X factor was for the money, making an album was for the funsies
That's true, she won't get much money from her albums anyway, unless she sells 20 millions records worldwide like Adele but we know that won't happen
At this point I'm happy that she actually "cares" for the music and releases such a good album (my favourite of hers) knowing that it won't sell lots.
Did she know it wouldn't sell lots? I'm not convinced she'd have thought that or have that degree of self-awareness. Obviously I'm talking "normal lots" not "Adele lots". I'm not sure she or the label would have anticipated or wanted Only Human to be doing how it's done so far.
There must be a reason why albums are continued to be produced by most commercial artists - the expectation that they'll be profitable. If there was no money in them at all then it surely wouldn't still be a thing at this point in time, but they are, globally. I doubt Cheryl and the label have put this album out purely for the fun of it.
well i've heard it all now
where once there was a buzz single, we now have a BUZZ ALBUM
Cheryl has been nominated for Best TV Judge at this year's National Television Awards. You can vote http://www.nationaltvawards.com/vote
I have already voted for her *.* Glad Mel B's not up for it too cause I'd struggle so much to choose between them
I voted for Mary Berry.
She's dyed her hair red!
v. 2010
Has she had her lips done? She looks different somehow (facially!)
#redhairdontcare
I hate the short hair look on her, she suits it far more long.
Sharon Osborne teas
I'm not a fan of her short hair. And red hair is so over
Don't like it. It's over
Happy 32nd birthday to Cheryl!
I'm on the fence with Katie on this...
Not even gonna waste my time dignifying Katie Hopkins with a response.
On one hand, I see her point, but surely she'd champion Cheryl as the face of fat rights
Cheryl is right. My whole teenage years I was skinny and got constantly judged by people for being skinny, while it was just in my genes. Nowadays when someone is too skinny they get told they're sick, unhealthy or anorexic. That's not the case. It's sad because it makes a lot of people more insecure with their bodies and it makes them feel shameful.
As Cheryl says it's wrong to call out someone for being fat, but it is the same for skinny people. I don't even understand how anyone can disagree with her on this.
I'm actually on Cheryl's side with this, as someone who's always had a naturally skinny frame and finds it hard to put weight on I've had all sorts of comments too, some of them really do unnerve you and make you feel bad about yourself and it's not nice.
High five !
Stacey Solomon is backing Cheryl : http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/stacey-solomon-backs-cheryl-fernandez-6395871
Cheryl is filing for divorce from JB according to the tabloids, citing "unreasonable behaviour". Apparently she's had enough of his jealousy when she's with other men, or even her dogs Such a shame as I wanted this to work out for her.
The anticipating comeback of Cheryl Tweedy
I can see her keeping Fernandez-Versini for the time being, she kept Cole after she divorced Ashley, until she got married to JB.
Sad news for her. I'd definitely want to keep that phenomenal surname though!
Coming for her combining all 4 into one mega last name!
I can see her permanently becoming 'Cheryl'.
Sad for her
They can cut 5 out of those 18 months off as they had not been together the entire of her season on X Factor.
But it is a shame. I just hope she can use her music as a therapeutic experience?
It's a shame but perhaps you shouldn't marry someone after just 3 months of dating.
Since her near death with malaria Cheryl has been very public with her 'fuckit' list so I imagine the wedding was a 'let's live in the moment' kind of situation too.
He's taking 8 million from her apparently.
She's going back to Tweedy!
It is very sad but no wonder her album sales are in decline the state they are if she changes her name all the time!
She should have fought to keep Cole and make Ashley change his name haha.
This wouldn't have happened if her last name was Hough as it should've been.
Spoiler alert... Cheryl is a lesbian
What?
omg x
It was her first proper official appearance since the X Factor and she was introduced as "Cheryl" (while Nick was introduced as "Nick Grimshaw") so I guess it pretty much confirms the split and she's dropping the "Fernandez-Versini" name.
So according to "the press", Cheryl and Liam are together
Cheryl Tweedy Cole Fernandez-Versini Payne?
I'm kinda taking this with a pinch of salt for now, although I would like it to be true! There's very little evidence so I'm struggling to entirely believe it for now, not saying it's made up but idk...
Confirmed by Liam and he changed his instagram picture to this:
Aaaw so cute
Adorable I wish them all the best!!
👀
When she's done with this PR stunt, can she focus on a good record plz
First official event together as a couple in Paris
Cheryl will receive a philantropist award for the great work of her foundation Cheryl's Trust !
Aww they do look great together
Oh and Eva Longoria is there two so they took pictures together :
They also did a face swap and it is hilarious.
I love how these two get along, they always seem to have so much fun together
Edit: Oh by the way, could a moderator kindly edit the title of the thread? She obviously won't go by the name of Fernandez-Versini in the future and she is being called "Cheryl" only lately, so we should go with that as well. Thank you !
Edited *.*
Cheryl & Liam look very happy together, loving the pictures / face swap with Eva too!
At a private party in Cannes last night :
They are looking so damn cute together, that's the first time I feel like she has found a great match
Keeping her name out there...
OMG she looked AMAZING yesterday on the red carpet in Cannes :
They do look incredibly good/happy together. Cheryl bringing the looks too, especially that last one.
She is looking incredible recently, so much better than last year!
She really is the Queen of Cannes. Its the one event a year she looks human at.
It was Cheryl's 33rd birthday yesterday. Happy belated birthday to her
A late happy birthday to Cheryl!
Now give us new music xx
Okay I'm bored now... when is Cheryl actually going to release new music again? Now please.
Yeah I'm really craving new Cheryl right now! I expect single 1 will be out in September/October and then promoted on the X Factor live shows. Gonna be weird probably seeing a Cheryl lead single struggle to go top 10
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Gone are the days of a front loaded single straight into number one for chezza. Have to see if she can become a streaming artist. Gotta be a very strong come back single. Guess end of this year isn't too long to wait.
I Don't Care was a streaming top 10 although it fell quite quickly I think and Crazy Stupid Love didn't even go top 20 if I remember correctly, but with the right song, I think she could have a streaming hit! Time will tell I guess.
I can see Cheryl having a hit along the lines of 'Tears', especially if she launches it with an X Factor performance, in terms of chart run assuming that it is of course a high quality song.
Did anyone see the article claiming Cheryl may do a duet with Beiber?! Now that would be something to listen to and and great for Cheryl's chances at success imo!
P.s. The article was in the daily star so it's probably not a reliable source.
YES PLEASE!!
https://twitter.com/MuuMuse/status/764499973832581120
That just says it all.
I really hope new Cheryl music is on the horizon! I feel like we could maybe see a September single release with a performance on X Factor in October, followed by the album then?
I've been caught up in the world of Britney! I'd love it if she releases something around X factor time but she's awfully quiet atm. I hope that's because she's hard at work in the studio. 'I won't break' came up on my play list earlier today and it reminded me how many good songs were actually on her last album. If she wants another hit album (unlike this last one) she's actually going to have to promote her ass off and create some hype. She was too passive in the last era eve though she got two #1 singles. She could have done more with that album.
What is going on with this album? I wish we had some details about who she is working with or when we can expect to hear the lead, she is being really quiet.
I know, I don't have much hope for an Autumn release anymore.
Well she's been away for a while after 2 underwhelming era's, she's obviously not gonna reveal much in case the hype overshadows the quality of the songs like it did with Only Human.
An autumn release could well still be happening, her single could come next week for all we know
Yeah exactly! Plenty of time still, most releases tend to be announced like a week beforehand nowadays. Definitely wouldn't be shocked if she was preparing herself for an XF performance.
I hope you're right. I can't help feeling that Cheryl needs the hype though in order to be successful. Let's see what happens.
I hate to talk abour rumours but to be honest I do think she's likely to be pregnant... This would be great news for her but that means no music this year
Yeah I've been a seeing those rumours too. She's been keeping a pretty low profile really so I think it's not gonna be this year!
Just leaving this here as no-one posted it yesterday, Cheryl's instagram was hacked
TBH I'm here for a gothic 'fuck Liam Payne' inspired album from her.
I'm loving the Twitter and Instagram hacks of late, most amusing.
I saw a trending post on Facebook with the tagline "Kimberley Walsh says she's 'happy' for Cheryl" (in relation to her speculated pregnancy.
I just loved the use of inverted commas for shade.
She looked stunning on The One Show.
Congrats to them both!
Massive congrats to the pair of them, really hoping everything works out for Cheryl this time round
Congratulations to both of them
So happy for them
They're such a cute item !
Cheryl gave birth 3 days ago to a baby boy!
Congratulations to her!
Congrats to them both
Awww fantastic news
Nadine tweeted her to say congrats too!
In other news, Under The Sun has been certified Silver! Glad it got an award!
Baby is called Bear Payne
Praying she didn't take inspiration from the CBB Winner
Snapchat had a news article which said it could be Taylor!
Lol, what the hec is up with that ridiculous name?
Watch out for his little brother Dog next year!
"How much did childbirth hurt, Cheryl?"
"Yeah, it was Bear Payne"
This Morning have a world exclusive interview with her next week. Primarily about a new L'Oreal range admittedly, although it does look as if she's talking a bit about being a mum: http://www.celebsnow.co.uk/celebrity-news/cheryl-cole-mum-bear-first-interview-696269
X Factor related:
Cheryl is Simon's co jidge at judges houses! It's gonna be good seeing her back!
Fight for this love
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DLh2nnfX4AE5r7-.jpg *.*
She has an interview with Dan Wooton on Lorraine next Friday, apparently talks about new music too. (was filmed at Judges houses)
Intrigued I am really excited to hear some new music, her success levels would be very interesting to see.
Interview with Dan Wooton about being a mother to Bear and Simon is on 'Lorraine' tomorrow morning.
Here's the interview!
*Watches*
Simon and Cheryl have such an odd chemistry...I always feel like they privately have history, or even that it's an open secret.
I can see her coming back to XF next year, Nicole will be busy with PCD if their reunion goes well plus she really seems done this series ;lol:
DERMOT O’LEARY has revealed Cheryl is all set to make a full-time return to The X Factor.
But if the mum-of-one has a last-minute change of heart, he hopes a certain diva will be waiting in the wings to replace her.
In an exclusive catch-up with Guilty Pleasures, the show’s host confirmed: ‘Cheryl’s going to come back.’
It comes after Chezza, who has been busy raising nine-month-old son Bear with boyfriend Liam Payne, joined Simon Cowell for the judges’ houses segment on last year’s series.
The singer, 34, hasn’t appeared on the panel since 2015.
Dermot, though, confessed he’d like to see Mariah Carey face the music on the ITV singing contest.
‘If it wasn’t Cheryl, I would love Mariah,’ he added. ‘It would be a whole new world of crazy my friend!’
https://www.metro.news/its-back-to-reality-time-for-chezza-says-dermot-oleary/898854/
Interesting... I hope she'd be fully invested if she does return, I want to see her on top form!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-5314593/Naughty-Boy-hints-collaboration-Cheryl-Rak-Su.html
Cheryl + Rak Su, interesting !
It looks like Cheryl is no longer with Polydor, she isn't on their website roster anymore and today these quotes from Naughty Boy were printed in The Metro.
In what world can Nadine Coyle release music and Cheryl be without a record deal?
!!!
Cheryl and Liam have released a statement announcing their splitting up.
Hopefully we can finally get some new solo music from her then!!
By the way, is she returning to X Factor or not?
And another relationship bits the dust for Cheryl.
Well that was obvious
From The Sun,
https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/cheryls-new-song-painful-split-12920963
Can't wait for this album also Nicola is so talented so happy she's still working with her, BTW I didn't know her and Liam broke up already
Cheryl will become one of the three "dance captains" for dance talent show 'The Greatest Dancer" alongside Glee's Matthew Morrison and Strictly Come Dancing's Oti Mabuse
https://twitter.com/bbcpress/status/1027901390297989120
I bet she'll drop a new single during this show
Good for her, although I have zero desire to watch if I'm honest. Bring on new music, please!
First single in October.
God, I can't wait!
https://twitter.com/CherylOfficial/status/1029418069364551684
So far we know:
Nicola Roberts
Naughty Boy
The Invisible Men
Raye
Team Salut
Iain James
Gina Kushka
Miranda Cooper (rumour)
Omg! This is so soon! So ready for her to dethrone Basic Glynne from her pedestal.
She’s on the latest episode of Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast! It’s one of the few podcasts I listen to and it’s nice to get a more relaxed interview from all the guests but particularly Cheryl, who still holds up this media trained mystery for me.
The first teaser trailer for 'The Greatest Dancer' premiered last night:
This actually looks good.
I really want it to do well.
Yet more reports today she’s quitting music for good.
I just wish people would realise that streaming rules the charts now.
I still don’t think she’s going to quit but she does need better promo for the next single.
Tbh though maybe this time around her album could do better. Surely an album from her would at least go top ten even just on debut week (if it was released during a time of the year what isn’t busy Q4).
Really rather lovely interview she did on Dermot O'Leary's Radio 2 show this morning (starts around 1hr 5mins mark): https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0006d9z
I really love Let You
She's a great performer , I used to love this so much
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7B9pcZDp0A
Any new scoop on upcoming music? Let You was such an improvement over the previous single, so I'd hate to see her not releasing anything soon just based on it's chart performance.
Not a fan of Cheryl on TV in general, but I thought she was a GREAT judge on Drag Race UK this week. Loved how she stuck true to her thoughts and stood up against Michelle. More of this please, Cheryl!
Yup she was fantastic on Drag Race!! Good humoured and eager to speak her mind *.*
My Sunday nights ruined reading her interview with TV Mag.
She’s got an amazing track what needs work on it production wise but there’s no plans for an album
Cheryl pls.
lol, she'll never do an album and might end up releasing a single per year until the label decides to do a Hits & Beyond type of deal.
Who knew she was such a big Danushka fan?
I said this around the time 'Let You' came out and I still stand by it now: unless there is a sufficient commercial trade off for the effort of doing it, Cheryl's not going to be doing music again on her own for a long time. Although I could visibly foresee her doing a Louise Redknapp / Emma Bunton in about ten years' time when the nostalgia for her as a solo artist kicks in.
Do you mean like if she gets a hit then she’ll consider an album?
Last year she said she had enough material for one but now it seems she’s just focusing on her other projects but she has one track she really likes.
I think you have a point there tbh. I can see her releasing a few singles though. Tbh what I’d love is if she managed to get a feature on a big dance record by someone like Jax Jones or Jonas Blue or Kygo. I miss the Cheryl who would release albums though
Happy 37th birthday to Cheryl!
Happy Birthday Cheryl. She shares a birthday with my sister.
Happy birthday Cheryl
I actually love all three singles from Only Human (excluding the 'Radio Mix' of Only Human that no radio ever touched x), I'd put I Don't Care and Crazy Stupid Love in 3rd and 4th in her singles ranking only behind Call My Name and FFTL although if I had to choose right now I'd listen to I Don't Care over FFFL
The photoshoots for the Only Human era were so stunning
I do like 'Fight For This Love', 'Crazy Stupid Love' is okay but not one of her best and 'I Don't Care' is piss weak.
I'd rather 'Call My Name' and 'Promise This' were up there.
Quite surprised to see Fight only has just over 18 million streams! For such a big selling song, that's rather disapponting.
Call my name and Fight for this love are amazing tracks easily her best. Crazy Stupid Love is really catchy as is Parachute. Promise this and I don't care are both pretty terrible though.
Fight For This Love, Parachute and I Don't Care are Cheryl's best single releases as a solo artist.
Fight for this love is by far her best.
Cheryl's headline Mighty Hoopla in September:
Interesting! I wonder if this is just “for the nostalgia” or if she’s intending to have another go at releasing music this year? Being the headline act when she’s not been the most prolific of artists in recent years makes me hope there will be new material!
It’s a shame that she got swallowed up by the streaming era. She was away for too long! Ideally she should have followed up the Only Human era quickly & released new music in late 2015. It was weird that she committed to another year of X Factor in 2015 but took her foot off the pedal with her solo career. She could have eased her way into the streaming era in late 2015/early 2016, before having time off to become a mum. Oh well!
They basically confirmed all the UK-based lineup from last year with a few exceptions. I do hope this goes ahead.
Looks like I'll be going to this (if it goes ahead). Hope she doesn't just mime the whole set.
Poor America, don’t they have enough going on?
Cheryl looking great in her first instagram post in a year!
She doesnt look like herself to me.
She looks to have had some work done in that photo, I wonder with her returning to Instagram is it a sign she is doing some new music or some new tv work.
She seems the most natural she has in years to me. I just love the simplicity of the hair and make-up, she looks glowing.
She doesn't look natural but looks more natural than some of her previous images.
Natural and cheryl are not 2 words that ever really went together for me
Why do people always feel the need to comment on if they’ve had work done or not. It’s really none of your business. She looks lovely, next.
Hope she does release some new music again, Let Go was such a tune shame it never really took off.
Does she even have a record deal?
i can't imagine she's still with 8 bit but it doesn't write off her being featured on a track... she does enjoy performing after all (i think?)
She's headlining Mighty Hoopla so I guess so. I was thinking she could have a new song out by September cause it would be quite random of her to headline an event a few years after she released her last two singles, but this is a rescheduled gig and it's 2021 so I've accepted that things don't always make sense lol.
i can't imagine her launching a single on the back of a gay festival is going to do anything...
Just came here to say that Call My Name is a banger.
It certainly is *.* One of the very best songs from 2012 (a year of bops )
+ Cheryl’s recent interview with Marie Claire: https://www.marieclaire.co.uk/life/health-fitness/cheryl-feel-supplements-739905
she's coming for that princess Diana crown again yaaay
though to correct her, her greatest legacy is Promise This
Cheryl turned 38 yesterday, happy (belated) birthday!
She's looking really good!
For transparency: the other Cheryl thread has been moved, temporarily. The mods will have a discussion about it.
How come?
'telescope' truly is cheryl's most underated song
Cheryl performed at Mighty Hoopla yesterday!
Just returned from seeing her at Mighty Hoopla and it was a nice set although I feel the crowd was a bit lukewarm during everything other than first singles.
1. Sexy Den a Mutha
2. Call My Name
3. Everybody's Free
4. Promise This
5. 3 Words/Parachute
6. It's About Time
7. Crazy Stupid Love
8. Let You
9. Fight for This Love (with an interpolation of Show Me Love where she rolled out Nicola Roberts, although her contribution was literally seconds)
I used watched some of the clips on Twitter and it looked like a fab set! Especially considering the fact she hasn't done any big performances in a long time, you wouldn't know as she had all the moves and energy we expect. Nice to see her doing the cover of Eveyerbody's Free and as soon as the intro kicks in off Fight.. you are just reminded how much of a modern classic it is Obviously very excited to see Nicola joining her for a bit as well. Also slighly off topic, but wow, her dancers are hot!
Well Mighty Hoopla has a big crowd, it's no re-entry, so many people convene to the Main Stage for the headliner. Looked quite a big crowd although I'm not good at estimate number. And it was interesting to see her for the first time in years and singing a couple of songs for the first time.
Did she sing live?
Cheryl has pulled out of Birmingham Pride, understandably:
Totally understandable, its very raw for them all right now.
its mad she didnt post a single thing about hoopla when she was there and still hasn't... she's found time to post about her supplements though?
With rumours that Simon Cowell's beloved singing competition may be making a comeback, Cheryl is on the fence about returning.
'That's an interesting question,' she pondered. 'I don't know. It's a really weird one. It would be unusual to revisit after so many years, I'm sure they would make it really different.
'But I don't know. I've got really fond memories of the time that I was on there and I don't know if a comeback would feel the same...
'I think the public kind of miss it and it was such a huge moment in time, wasn't it? So, you know, never say never!'
~
Cheryl has revealed she's no longer set on having a second child because of the state of the world.
The 39-year-old singer shares son Bear, five, with her ex-boyfriend Liam Payne, 29, and revealed in 2020 that she would use a sperm donor to have a second child.
However, speaking exclusively to MailOnline, the new star of West End show 2:22 A Ghost Story, said that her attitude has changed post-pandemic and now that there would be a bigger age gap between her children.
Cheryl explained: 'I was so hell bent on having another before because Bear was at that perfect age. I think if you have that couple year age gap, you can still do things with them together where they're both engaged and both interested.
'Now that the pandemic happened in the in the meantime, and there's such an age gap, and I'm a bit older. I'm not so sure, honestly.'
Yet she didn't rule out other methods of caring for children, noting: 'maybe adoption. I just love babies and children and I'd do anything to help or have another one around but it's not as prevalent anymore.
'Also in the process of the pandemic I looked around at the world and thought this world is a bit crazy. Is it a sensible idea to bring a soul into all into this madness?'
For now, Cheryl's focus is purely on Bear, who will celebrate his sixth birthday in March.
Discussing their plans for the day, she revealed: 'I'm gonna spend it with him and he is very headstrong so he will let me know what we're going to be doing!
'So we'll have to see what he's got on the cards for that. I'm sure it's something that will cost me a lot of money, whatever it is!'
While he is still young, Cheryl has been ensuring her son's privacy is respected, opting not to show his face on social media.
The Fight For This Love hitmaker revealed she tries to keep Bear away from the internet but confessed that her little one does love going on YouTube and has become 'obsessed' with the viral Wednesday dance craze started by the Netflix series.
While Cheryl treads the boards with her new role in 2:22 A Ghost Story she won't be around in the evenings for Bear's bedtime routine.
'It's bizarre,' she confessed. 'I've been doing that for almost six years. So that's a bit strange.'
Yet she admitted she had been 'blessed' by the timings of the Covid lockdowns in 2020 which had allowed her to spend more quality time with her son.
She confessed: 'I think I enjoyed the lockdown a little bit too much. Bear was just turning three and was at that perfect stage where he knew how to talk back. It was a really precious age for him.
'I'm really blessed to be able to have that time just me and him. So I think I just enjoyed those couple years a little bit too much.'

Random but I’ve been watching 2011 EastEnders on iPlayer and I swear ‘Yeah Yeah’ is played in the Vic all the time. I do wish it had been a single, I get ‘The Flood’ being chosen as a winter single but ‘Yeah Yeah’ in early 2011 would have been perfect and I think it could have been a decent hit. Wonder if it was considered?
The Flood was just a terrible choice, seriously!?
Happy birthday to Cheryl, who celebrates turning 40 today!
Happy Birthday Cheryl
wow that means I'm the same age now that she was when she became an X Factor judge
I just discovered Amnesia and I have it on repeat
Such an obvious single choice!
Cheryl's assault conviction was discussed on Celebrity Big Brother yesterday, and she ended up trending last night - and it's been reported on in the papers. I can imagine Cheryl won't be at all pleased with this topic being in the spotlight once again!
I have always been a bit fascinated about the public reaction - or lack of reaction - to this case, at the time. I guess lack of social media in those days was helpful with that? I mean it was a huge news story in 2003, but as we know it ultimately didn't harm Cheryl's career. Whereas with today's "trial by social media" climate, I can imagine it would have been a more instantly career damaging incident.
