1 Colin Firth (great winner, very believable in the role and it will always be his iconic performance)
2 James Franco (was nice seeing him get recognition on this scale and he was very good, he carried the film incredibly well)
3 Jesse Eisenberg (he was well suited for the role but he's a bit too unlikeable to root for even if he was impressive..

I think a line up of these three along with Ryan Gosling for Blue Valentine and Mark Wahlberg for The Fighter would have been excellent. The former outshined Michelle Williams imo so it's a shame she was singled out for the nomination and the latter was just as good as the rest of the ensemble so it's a shame he missed the cut when they all made it. Gosling probably would have been my winner actually even if I disliked the film!
