I mean we have this no? At the end of the day Buzzjack is a UK-based forum so it makes sense to have yearly compilations largely based on UK charts.
If you want some diversity in the compilation lineup, it would be good to do some geography-based compilations (though admittedly I only know very recent ones plus the songs from various online song contests ) |

At the end of the day Buzzjack is a UK-based forum so it makes sense to have yearly compilations largely based on UK charts. It's a little bit pointless in Wikipedia era, because if you wish to find a big UK hits there are already the lists with all (!!!) UK top 10 singles by years (from 1952 to 2024) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_UK_top-ten_singles Buzzjack compilations are OK, but genre/theme based (for sample like Britpop) is much more interesting thing. The year compilations exist because the only alternative we have in the UK is Now, whose yearbooks are hampered by licensing issues and strange sequencing decisions. They used to have competition from Hits, Smash Hits, Top of the Pops, Pepsi Chart and countless other compilation series' but now have a monopoly on the market. I think it's good to have an alternative 'here's how it could look instead' for the year albums.

Yeah... I think for me, I'll prefer the original 'Despacito' in the compilation, but then the most popular/familiar version of 'Subeme La Radio' is the one with Sean Paul and Matt Terry. Tricky.

Hyped, all 4 sound interesting.
I could help out with track suggestions for new wave especially. King Rollo probably knows a lot about the genre too. This post has been edited by TheSnake: 9 hours ago |
