ROUND 1: FREE CHOICE

AF Idol is back! This is the thread to discuss each round as it comes to us, the themes will be revealed as we get to them. The first round is FREE CHOICE which means any song from any era is allowed to be entered!

My ideas so far have been something along the lines of All Night, Irreplaceable, Pretty Hurts, Say My Name, or Jumpin’ Jumpin’! Any other ideas are more than welcome though we have 24h to decide!

Also we’re boycotting Baby Boy because that got us booted out last time x

Baby Boy could actually be an idea for this round, safe without being too safe! I really like the idea of sending All Night but I’m not sure how well received/known it was on Buzzjack. In the Lemonade vs 4:44 rate it only came 9th or something which is a lot lower than I was expecting

Edit: Other forums seem to be going for bigger hits than I first thought - maybe Say My Name is a safe option to take for this round?

I would have thought maybe Sweet Dreams.

It's highly regarded but not in the top tier of ultimate Bey/DC. laugh.gif

I feel like the three of those (SMN, Irreplaceable, and BTINH) won’t have too much use after this round and might become too risky by the time we can use them - all 3 are strong tracks so I think choosing from those is our best option.

Didn't it top a Beyonce rate a few years back? I'd definitely save that for later on.

Work is a great option for a later round! WLTO is a good choice for a future Free Choice round also

I see the next theme is first singles of an era. So Crazy In Love, Deja Vu, If I Were A Boy, Run The World, XO and Hold Up are the options? If that's the case I'd go for If I Were A Boy easily. laugh.gif

If I Were A Boy, while not a personal favourite of mine, is a good option.

There's also Kelly's leads: Dilemma and Commander are good options too *.*

And DC's: Independent Women, Survivor and Lose My Breath in particular ohmy.gif
