England bowled out for 77 replying to the West Indies total of 289 in the first test. ohmy.gif

It was a combination of poor batting and good bowling. West Indies decide not to enforce the follow on.

West Indies fast bowler Shannon Gabriel has been banned for the first four one-day internationals against England.

Gabriel, 30, accepted an International Cricket Council charge over comments he made to England captain Joe Root during the third Test in St Lucia.

In reply, Root told Gabriel: "Don't use it as an insult. There's nothing wrong with being gay."

Good to see Joe Root getting a lot of praise for his response.

A remarkable finish to the test match in Durban. Sri Lanka still needed 78 to beat South Africa when their ninth wicket fell but Kusal Perera and Vishwa Fernando broke the record for the biggest last wicket partnership to win a test match. Perera finished 153 not out,a Bothamesque innings. They were backed at 400-1 at one stage on the Betfair exchange.

Sadly,I didn't watch it live. I was watching the Brighton FA Cup match and never thought to check what was happening. I saw earlier on that South Africa were winning easily and forgot about it. It's not one of those test series that I would normally be interested in watching.

Fantastic hitting by England there. 154 runs scored from the last ten overs.

Meanwhile over in India,Glenn Maxwell scores 113 not out off 55 balls to help Australia beat India in a T20 match.

It really is a batsman's game these days.
