Just quickly glad no one pointed out that there was a massive mistake in the title last week, lets see if anyone notifies it
Well the prediction game didn't work out so I am trying out another idea which isn't really a game. The new releases are above and you vote in the poll for what you predict the film will open with. Posse post your answers and hopefully this creates discussion This one is for the American box office US new releases: Chappie- New action thriller from District 9 director starring Hugh Jackman and Sharlto Copley and a cute robot. Unfinished Business- Vince Vaughn comedy Still Alice- Drama which Julianne Moore won best actress for My predictions: Still Alice should do well after Julianne's Oscar win. Prediction: £800k Chappie will do ok. I can see this opening similar to Elysium. Prediction: £1.9M Unfinished business will bomb here. Prediction: £450k |

Still Alice appears to have a very limited release, I don't know about Odeon & Vue but it's only listed as showing at NINE Cineworld cinemas. Under £450k I think.
Chappie, around £2.4, as I said in the predicta I'm basing that on thinking it's going to do a bit more than Focus did the weekend just gone. Unfinished Business looks totally awful, £500k. |

Unfinished business also surprised with a great £930K Where did you hear that? The Digital Spy article today says that it managed 394k. Meanwhile Still Alice did 401k with a lot less locations. Although I predicted right, and I had the lowest prediction for Still Alice, I'm quite pleased with the performance. Thought it could've done worse when I saw how many cinemas were showing it but I read that it had the highest per screen average. It appears to have a wider release this coming weekend so hopefully it can have a good second week. |

'Still Alice''s release is baffling. We've had so many people asking if/why we're not showing it at work. It's a shame coz I would have liked to have seen it and it's not like there's anything out next week other than 'Run All Night' and 'Suite Francaise'... :\ BIZARRE.
