I began panicking

Posted by: Aaron. 31st May 2019, 05:36 PM

Hahaha.. ugh I almost threw up..
So happy. I really didn't think we were going to get another season for some reason. Ecstatic.

Posted by: Aaron. 20th January 2020, 05:09 PM

Big Brother Canada 8's two night premiere will air March 4th at 7 PM ET and March 5th at 8 PM ET

Posted by: JosephStyles 20th January 2020, 05:13 PM

Can't wait!! Hoping it's better than last time, which was by far my least favourite BB Can season to date sad.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 21st January 2020, 12:43 AM

I wish it was BB uk.

Posted by: Aaron. 5th March 2020, 01:43 PM

No love for this?
Supersized Season <3.

Really diverse cast.
Hits, Kyle and Vanessa are my top three at the moment.
Canada's 4 Nominees were pretty much perfect.

Here for Chris or John going this week.

Posted by: JosephInSpace 5th March 2020, 05:49 PM

I liked the premiere! Hoping it doesn't go the way of last season cause that became such a chore. A bit early to pick a favourite but LOVE the diversity on show.

Posted by: Aaron. 6th March 2020, 01:52 AM

Lame that Nico decided to give up. But Hira said it best. Sometimes you get into a dark hole and can't get yourself out.

Posted by: Aaron. 6th March 2020, 01:59 AM

Also. Still so f***ing lame they didn't finish that HOH. This is the frustrating part of BBCAN.

Posted by: Klaus 7th March 2020, 12:22 PM

omg i was going to berate them for extending the length of the show as one of the reasons I love the Canadian version is that it's much less of a drag than the US one but I've seen it's only a few episodes more and only two more than BBCAN4

on first look, perhaps a more interesting cast than the previous two - although lots of alpha males there. Hopefully people learn from the last one but it never happens.

big eyeroll at the two alliances so far being the misfits and the white popular kids for the 864th time tho. such a shock and coincidence that the four white hot guys and gals managed to just click and form an alliance. at this early stage, i can't see them being an active threat, more a float their way through staying the background which is possibly more annoying.

Posted by: Aaron. 9th March 2020, 12:59 AM

I'm not upset if he ends up getting Michael out.
I would be upset if Hira goes tho =\

Posted by: Aaron. 11th March 2020, 11:57 PM

See, I wouldn't mind a Minh-Li and Jamar showmance cuz they're not two boring pretty people. They have depth.
Minh-Li however is just too messy for me to root for.

Chris saving the season by getting Michael (hopefully) out. Please no pre-jury comeback.

Posted by: Aaron. 16th March 2020, 10:46 AM

We are off to a surprisingly good start.
As messy as Chris' HOH was, he set himself a goal and he completed that goal. I'm not sure if Michael was exactly as big as a threat as what he was made out to be, but still, glad we got rid of the Showmance early.

Sheldon's HOH is coming to a good start as well, he has some options but doesn't need to set the pace like Chris did.

I don't have a strong favorite to start off with. I also like that there isn't a strong douche alliance presence in the house. This season seems fluid which should allow for a stronger 2nd half of the game. The problem with the last few seasons is the gameplay has been so intense at the beginning, leading to a weaker endgame to watch.

Posted by: LMLou 17th March 2020, 06:55 PM

Jamar has been removed from the house

Posted by: Aaron. 17th March 2020, 08:42 PM

I haven't really been following any updates or feeds. I see this trending in Canada. What happened? Does anyone know?

Posted by: LMLou 17th March 2020, 08:51 PM

I think its because he made some sort of threat about shooting Kyle, but it wasn't like anything serious - just along the lines of "I'm gonna pop him" and made a gun gesture. It seems more warning worthy in my opinion as he weary wasn't going to hurt Kyle, but Kyle said he felt uncomfortable so that's likely why they Jamar.

Posted by: troylovesmusic 18th March 2020, 12:26 AM

Nah it’s ridiculous Jamar has been removed I’m actually fuming !

Posted by: Scene 18th March 2020, 05:36 PM

Twitter seems to be collectively fuming about his removal. Queen Ika is not impressed either. It's a shame to see Vanessa dragged badly. Hopefully Kyle gets evicted before jury (not necessarily to do with this - he's obnoxious regardless).

Posted by: Aaron. 19th March 2020, 11:35 PM

Yo Sheldon was SAAAAVVVAGGEEE with Minh. I'm putting you up because you have no-one and if you think you do, you're wrong.
So honest. So refreshing. She played wayyyyy to messy.

Posted by: JosephInSpace 19th March 2020, 11:56 PM

Yeah Minh went in too hard, too fast and it just ended up extremely messy laugh.gif won't be gutted if she ends up going (or if the eviction vote even continues? laugh.gif)

I'm actually really on board with Maddie and John-Luke right now, Michael going has removed the awful, overdone showmance/bromance aspects and an underdog story always helps. Kyle on the other hand is f***ing awful so I hope one of Maddie / John-Like / Rianne (if she stays) wins the HOH to get him out.

Posted by: Aaron. 20th March 2020, 12:49 AM

I actually have no idea what's going on. They haven't shown us anything.

Posted by: Aaron. 20th March 2020, 12:52 AM

I feel bad for Sheldon, he nominated 3 people.. Couldn't put up his logical option once the veto was used, and everyone he went after stayed. I'm all for being fair, but, that's the game!

Posted by: Scene 20th March 2020, 06:02 PM

Wtf. Just finished the latest episode. What did Kyle actually do? Don't get me wrong I'm glad he's been booted out but the show provided zero explanation...

Posted by: Scene 22nd March 2020, 04:02 PM

I know there are bigger problems in the world right now but I'm devastated BB22 is unlikely to happen.

As much of a shame as it is, they should probably just cancel this season of BBCAN as well. They could have continued, but given EVERYTHING that has happened, I don't see this season being successful at all, they should just call it a day and send these people home to their families.

Posted by: LMLou 24th March 2020, 05:06 PM

The series has been cancelled

Posted by: Scene 24th March 2020, 06:59 PM

The right decision but sad regardless. I feel bad for all involved - crew, Arisa, house guests. I can't imagine how they'll tie up the remaining episodes. Will they show everyone leaving? It seems pointless showing remaining game play now that we know it's all for nothing. Let's hope this season doesn't affect the show's future. This can just be seen as the equivalent of Big Brother US 9. laugh.gif

Posted by: Aaron. 24th March 2020, 08:00 PM

I feel bad for Arisa, and maybe a handful of others... But yeah. The right decision. I'd maybe like to see Brooke and maybe Sheldon back... But can leave the rest of them.

Posted by: Scene 25th March 2020, 09:02 AM

Let's hope when it returns we can have an all-stars.

Posted by: Aaron. 25th March 2020, 11:02 PM

NEXT WEDNESDAY. They should have just ended this tomorrow or Sunday during their regular slots. Just let this season go already.

Posted by: Aaron. 2nd April 2020, 01:17 AM

Cute episode. Dragged on a bit, could have been 30 minutes last week.. But.. Whatever..
I think the right thing to do next season is to invite everyone that was still left back and fill the gap with newbies or returnees. Done.

Posted by: Scene 2nd April 2020, 10:52 AM

The problem inviting them all back would pose is the possibility of pre-season tactics and alliances which the viewers wouldn't necessarily be privy to. Also, by the time next season comes around (assuming life has gone back to normal by next spring) wouldn't viewers want a fresh cast rather than personalities they've already met? Maybe instead viewers can vote for which 4 of the BBCAN8 cast they'd want to return to the house.

Posted by: Aaron. 13th July 2020, 01:56 PM

From BBSPY: Global has officially renewed Big Brother Canada for its ninth season, which will air in Spring 2021
Arisa Cox is returning as host and, for the first time, will also be an executive producer on the show.

HUGE news for Arisa, she has had so much growth since Season 1. So proud of her!

Posted by: JosephStyles 13th July 2020, 02:11 PM

Fabulous news, and I'm so happy for Arisa! It's clear how devoted she is to the show, an amazing ambassador as well as host.

Posted by: Codeiric Diary 16th July 2020, 08:35 AM

which should really be its eighth season bc this year’s 4-ish weeks don’t really count as a season

Posted by: Aaron. 17th February 2021, 01:14 PM

2 weeks to go! Premiere Episode airs Wednesday March 3rd.
The BBCAN Twitter account has started tweeting again, nothing of any value, but I'm assuming we will get more formal details and the cast in the next week.

cheer.gif

Posted by: Aaron. 17th February 2021, 01:33 PM

Rumours on Twitter that it's either an Allstars or Canada VS US with returning players. Julie Chen filmed something related to BBCAN. A number of alumni have gone missing on Twitter on both sides of the boarder.
I find it odd that CAN vs US is even an option given the Pandemic.

Posted by: Klaus 24th February 2021, 07:30 PM

Cast announced! It includes the first transgender housemate and, surprisingly, no BBCAN8 housemates.... yet! There’s only 14 housemates announced so there’s probably another two left. I had suspected it’d be half BBCAN8 and half new cast but I’m probably glad it’s a new cast to make things more fresh.

Posted by: Aaron. 24th February 2021, 08:38 PM

I wouldn't be surprized if the last two ended up being from BBCAN8.
Let's be honest, not everyone deserved a call back for this season. 2 is probably an appropriate number to take from last year.

I've only looked at the Twitter descriptions but OMG. Great diversity. They've done it again.
Josh Farnsworth YASS #FreeBritney
Julie Vu is well known in my community. So happy to see her on Big Brother!
Breydon White from my home town. I hope he does well!

Posted by: Liаm 24th February 2021, 08:49 PM

Minh-Ly twice tbh x

Ethan was swarmed with allegations of racist, homophobic and sexist language, from what I gather it was recent too rather than historical, so ofc with the needed steps they've taken towards diverse casting, they've stamped that out and are being hot on it which is fab!

Posted by: Aaron. 4th March 2021, 06:37 PM

Meh.
Good casting for the most part, but BBCAN always struggles with editing the first few weeks. I don't think I really know anything about anyone and we really didn't see anything strategic at all last night, but there's an eviction tonight?
They really should follow BBUS' structure for the first week. Whoever goes tonight I doubt I will care (UNLESS ITS JULIE VU)!

Posted by: LMLou 4th March 2021, 10:36 PM

Yeah I agree, its far too soon for an eviction already it should be next Friday really. Someone leaving so soon and getting no tie on live feeds just feels pointless
The cast seems good and I'm ok with how the teams worked out, it seems pretty balanced in terms of my faves

Posted by: Klaus 4th March 2021, 10:52 PM

It does seem bizarre in the short term but I feel a quick eviction is better in the long term for the show? One of the many problems with BBUS is that the first HOH and eviction goes on forever and it sort of soaks up the whole formation of the alliances which means, in recent years, it’s just largely formed around who wins HOH the first week.

A quick eviction sort of gives a needed jolt to the dynamics to ensure they’re not fully solidified.

The teams do look fairly balanced from just the first episode. I’m not sure how I feel about it in the long run though as I feel it takes away from the game itself and it would have been interesting to see the impact of the increased diversity. I feel it’s something we’ll see anyway but the teams twist probably diminishes some of the impact.

Posted by: Aaron. 5th March 2021, 03:17 AM

Wow. What an episode. Everyone's stories they shared was beautiful as well.

Dare I say, not having a 30 minute veto competition bulking up the show makes it a bit more interesting to watch. It also forces more of a social game. This could turn out to be good.

SOOOO much messy game play this was so great to watch. I thought Latoya would be a bit more under the radar, she was in all the right conversations and Josh blew that up in 5 seconds.

Very disappointed that Julie was out first, but unfortunately she kinda played herself out with all this drama.

Posted by: LMLou 5th March 2021, 10:36 AM

Really sad to see my fave go first, she was the most interesting character in there even if she wasn’t the best player

Austin HOH this week, her team is immune again

Reading through feed updates she seems to have good relationship with Breydon and Jed (who will likely fight to keep Latoya safe) so I’m sensing Josh/Kiefer noms at the moment

Posted by: LMLou 7th March 2021, 03:53 PM

This is seeming like another bunch of meh people (well some of them) so far with the way they are treating Josh. Always chatting shit about him (even how he yawns at one point) and at one point when he walked into the room the other 4 or 5 of them left immediately. Its pretty uncomfortable to watch

Posted by: JosephStyles 7th March 2021, 05:59 PM

tearsmile.gif of course, ostracise anyone who's different

Posted by: Aaron. 9th March 2021, 06:26 PM

Color me shocked Kiefer did nothing week one to improve his position in the house, network and connect. Great job getting yourself out of that hole going to bed. So frustrating. You came to play so PLAY.

Loving the Austin/Beth alliance. Praying Kyle never wins HOH because I'd hate to see 2 strong females that are playing this game on the block together so early.

Posted by: Aaron. 16th March 2021, 11:51 PM

K this is turning out to be a fantastic season. So much messy game play, it's hilarious to watch.

Loving the Austin/Beth alliance.

Oop.
Great start to this season.

Posted by: Aaron. 19th March 2021, 01:17 AM

I love how everyone is playing hard this year. We haven't had a start this good in a long time, I just hope it doesn't fizzle out.

I'm sad we lost Latoya, she had a strong start, but such a awful ending.
I definitely don't mind a Kiefer HOH now. I think he's woke.

Posted by: J❄️hq 21st March 2021, 03:09 PM

I'm still a bit up in the air with who my faves are and who I'm rooting for and supporting the most. I feel like I'm liking most of them (except maybe Kyle) but not LOVING anyone. I really like the bits we see of Tina and Tera together.

I have enjoyed these first few episodes but I've been sad at every eviction. Julie is possibly the most disappointing first boot ever from an entertainment perspective?? I think she would've been my fave sad.gif And then I don't get why everyone was against Josh, it doesn't seem usual to have one person that EVERYONE else in the house is against and it was kinda uncomfortable.

I'm happy with Kiefer HOH, ofc I'd rather he went over Latoya, but now that eviction is over, at least it's a different side of the house and he should shake things up.

Posted by: LMLou 21st March 2021, 03:19 PM

I'm really enjoying this season despite the TERRIBLE boot order so far. I love having a split house with both sides winning comps and a good number of people switching sides week by week

Posted by: JosephStyles 21st March 2021, 03:37 PM

I'm also loving this season so far, everyone's actually playing the game and it makes for compelling viewing. Kiefer's HOH Is going to make for a great power shift. Not loving Beth so far, finding her quite irritating and snide, and Kyle's alpha male shit is tiring, but I like most of them on the whole. Just a shame three excellent characters have gone already laugh.gif

I agree with this, I don’t really have any standout faves which kind of makes it more enjoyable (definitely less stressful!) as I can just sit back and watch the two sides go after each other.

Three big characters have definitely left first but there still seem to be a lot left in so hopefully there’s not a drop in gameplay. I’m most sad at Latoya leaving as I feel she had the most left in her from a game perspective but her error was trying to flip the vote so last minute without a solid basis for doing so.

I’d be most happy to see Beth go. I’m glad there’s a power shift this week but I can certainly do without the ‘Let’s Go’ and ‘your boy’ from Kiefer, he also seems to have a defeatist attitude.

Hoping the season can keep it up, certainly showing why Canada is better than the US version. I’m surprised there’s only 14 houseguests but at least it should avoid a triple eviction.

Posted by: Aaron. 23rd March 2021, 02:16 AM

I think this last episode really provided some context on relationships in the house and what's really going on.
I think we can address in the pairs when acceptable.

Jedson/Tychon/Beth: This is actually my pick for the final 3. They seem scrappy like the Brothers/Kelsey in Season 4. I think Beth making the Final 3 may be a bit of a stretch. But Jedson is by far my clear favorite to win. Tychon I think may need to be helped out a lot by Jedson, leaving Beth out in the open and vulnerable. Watching Tychon talk game was uncomfortable.

Tina/Tera: Tina is also a solid pick to go far, Tera I think will fizzle out and get dumped at some point but Tina is clearly in for the long haul. I think if she could make it to the end, she has a good shot.

Austin/Brayden: I love Austin. Brayden has not had any valuable screen time at all. However, it looks like Austin's days may be numbered.

Kyle/Roh: Is it bad that I'm not even rooting for these guys. Rohan looks like he's about to collapse at any second. Smarten up, get your gameface on. You're playing Big Brother.

Kiefer/Victoria: Okay well really not a couple, but I really appreciated both of their approaches this week and last week. I kinda hope both stay around a bit longer because they're here to play the game and I like it.

Posted by: JosephStyles 24th March 2021, 09:29 PM

Someone has their priorities right cheeseblock.png

Posted by: Aaron. 26th March 2021, 05:28 PM

The gap between Thursday and Monday is too long, especially since they never really end the HOH challenges ever.
Give us back the Sunday episode you fools.

Posted by: Aaron. 30th March 2021, 05:16 PM

BBCAN has really peaked. I hope we have many seasons in our future.
Big congrats to Arisa.

Posted by: Aaron. 6th April 2021, 01:33 AM

I live in Alberta and can confirm we have no rats.

Posted by: Aaron. 8th April 2021, 12:38 AM

If Victoria does go tomorrow, she's in good company with Neda, Mitch and Jordan with being the first juror.
Her first HOH really started a good pace for this game. Victoria is a great player.

Posted by: JosephStyles 8th April 2021, 12:41 AM

Agreed, I've loved Victoria, hope she can pull out the stops to stay but I suspect it won't happen.

So not here for the Beth / Jed / Ty love triangle dullness. Jed in particular could be a really interesting player without all that.

Posted by: Aaron. 9th April 2021, 01:54 AM

Wow. What an episode. Victoria will be known as one of the greats.
I also wasn't upset with the 2nd half either. I never got on the Rohan train in the first place. Still can't call a clear winner just yet, but it's pretty clear who isn't going to win in this group.

But yeah let's mix it up a bit with these HOH wins. I need to see Jed/Ty sweat.

Posted by: J❄️hq 10th April 2021, 02:26 PM

Spicy V is the most iconic BB Canada houseguest since Ika. Her reaction to being the replacement nom, what a MOMENT, the fact she didn't appear to immediately twig as soon as Beth used the word "spicy" in her speech laugh.gif And the fact she went out with such a positive attitude and respect for the game move (unlike Austin), we can't help but stan.

Whilst I'm sad at the loss of Victoria (and not at the loss of Rohan - though respect for surviving this long and winning three consecutive veto comps), I don't dislike anyone left in. There's still a lot of game left to play but at this point I'd quite like Kiefer to go and win, he's won comps and not shied away from big moves/targets and I expected him to be a boot in the first couple of weeks.

Posted by: LMLou 10th April 2021, 02:31 PM

The season seems like it might be similar to BB20 in that it had a great pre-Jury but the post-Jury segment might end up being pretty boring and predictable.
Jed’s won HoH so his group are safe yet again
All we can hope now is that Breydon or Tina win the next HoH and get one of the 3 out to add a bit of balance back

Posted by: Aaron. 13th April 2021, 01:27 AM

Beautiful tribute to Nikki tonight. <3

Posted by: Aaron. 15th April 2021, 12:16 AM

Wow. What an episode.

Posted by: JosephStyles 15th April 2021, 12:18 AM

Kiefer on the block cheeseblock.png he's played a GREAT game but he's been far too trusting of the trio, who blatantly have more of an interest in each other than him. I think he missed that sole angle in his gameplay...!

Posted by: Aaron. 15th April 2021, 03:13 PM

It took me a minute to warm up to Kiefer. I think it took him a bit of time to find his way, but he really did become a top tier player this season. He came to play and had a big impact on this season overall.

Is it too much to wish for a Jury Buy Back like Season 1 where Canada votes?
Put Victoria back in and watch her dominate to F2 and not miss out on the win by a hinky vote. I think that's asking for too much tho tongue.gif

Posted by: Aaron. 16th April 2021, 02:07 AM

Interesting vote flip, I think Jed realized the move was too flashy and unnecessary.

Holy shit. Could Tera get one of the boys out this week? Doesn't matter now with this fake double eviction. How BBUK.

Posted by: JosephStyles 16th April 2021, 11:35 AM

The backtracking won't look good later down the line if Jed's in final 2. He backed out of getting a big player out of the game and ultimately added very little to his resume. He's played smart so far but I don't think this week's done his chances of winning any favours.

Tera HOH cheeseblock.png I was not expecting that but I'm really here for the shake-up...!

Posted by: J❄️hq 16th April 2021, 09:11 PM

Glad that they ended up keeping Kiefer as him winning would be the most satisfying outcome for me right now.

Love that Tera won HOH and the power has shifted, but the upcoming fake double seems like an awful twist. Whoever she gets out will likely beat her to get back in :') Keep the twist, this season has been really good and does not need it.

Posted by: Aaron. 20th April 2021, 05:23 PM

Reception has been overwhelmingly positive for this season.

Posted by: Aaron. 22nd April 2021, 12:30 AM

OH. MY. GOD.
No joke there. A-tier episode tonight.
This double eviction looks like it will be FIRE after all. Everything just shook right up.

This season is absolutely everything. Would have been better if they would have sent Beth home however.

Posted by: JosephStyles 24th April 2021, 08:05 PM

Posted by: Klaus 25th April 2021, 11:26 AM

I think this season shows that messy players are far more entertaining than ‘good’ players. It’s the season we’ve been needing for years. Such a relief to see shots actually being taken and targets changing.

Shocked they got out Tera over Beth, could be a move that backfires if Jedson returns. How I’d have loved to see Jedson v Beth battling it out!!

Also, I think I’ve missed something re Rohan’s huge popularity! Not that I dislike him but he’d probably be in the lower half of my rankings!

Posted by: JosephStyles 27th April 2021, 08:50 PM

I am so pleased Tera's returned over Jed kink.gif The way they got Jed out feels unfortunate on his part but it would've been such a shame for such a PERFECTLY executed blindside to be undone by a twist! laugh.gif

Breydon winning HOH is interesting - first season of BBCan since the 4th one for everyone in the final 5 to have won an HOH competition! (that could even be extended to the top 6 to include Jed, in which case it's the first since BBCan3!) Having not seen noms spoilers, I feel like Beth and Tera are the easy pre-veto nominations but this could be a great chance to attempt a Kiefer boot again if he wants to really start building a CV.

Posted by: Aaron. 30th April 2021, 03:36 PM

I can't believe this is over in less than a week. What a season.

Posted by: JosephStyles 1st May 2021, 03:30 PM

I'd actually be happy with any potential winner at this point now that Beth's out. Ty is my top pick, followed by Tera and Kiefer, with Breydon as my least desirable outcome but even he's got a solid resume at this point after looking like a floater for a while. Impressive after it seemed the best people were dropping one by one when Julie, Josh and LaToya got evicted laugh.gif

Posted by: J❄️hq 4th May 2021, 10:22 AM

Agreed, but I think my pick order would go Kiefer > Tera > Ty > Breydon.

The fake double eviction twist went as well as it could've done really and thank god the latest eviction corrected the mistake they made during the fake eviction of getting Tera out over Beth, that confused me so much. Beth must be one of the most annoying houseguests I've ever seen on this show.

Posted by: Aaron. 5th May 2021, 11:58 PM

I was Ty > Kiefer > Brayden > Tara before this episode, but now I'm putting Tera right in front. Winning that F4 veto was everything and her sending Kiefer out the door only adds to her impressive resume.

Fan Favorite is a hard pick, I'm leaning towards Kiefer at the moment. What he's done for his community has been great to watch and he's been a top tier housemate.

Posted by: Aaron. 7th May 2021, 01:59 AM

Arisa looks amazing our queen.
Breydon winning Part 1 was amazing, he's been fantastic representation of thr LGBTQ community AND he's from my hometown!

I don't think either Ty or Braydon would take Tara, which is sad, but I'm so proud of the prospect of 2 black men sitting in those final 2 chairs.

This jury is fire as well, they all really respect everyone's games. Nobody was really all that salty or bitter.

It's crazy to see how many votes Tera had in the jury, she played an awesome game. Braydon's jury responses are very strong. Ty did okay, he was a bit shouty at points. I was a bit surprised Braydon didn't get a few more votes.

What a groundbreaking season. Fantastic winner as well. I can't wait for next year. Arisa knows what the fans want. Congrats Kiefer as well!

Really deserving winner in Ty, he played the game expertly and cut his alliance at just the right opportunity. A historic final 2 and both very worthy heart.gif Breydon's jury answers were really great and helped me to understand why he deserved to be there.

What a season. Gutted it's over cry.gif

No surprises here!
Following an incredibly successful season with our most diverse cast, the highest number of brand integrations, and the most innovative show twists to date – all while shooting during a pandemic –we are proud to greenlight another new season of Big Brother Canada,” said Lisa Godfrey, Senior Vice President of Original Content and Corus Studios. “Together with our talented partners at Insight Productions, we look forward to delivering Canadians another wild season of one of the most-talked about Original series in Canada.”

Brilliant news!! Still not over how good this season was wub.gif

Posted by: Aaron. 1st January 2022, 08:45 PM

I've been rewatching Season 5 and I think another Second Chance season is in store. We can't wait too long between seasons to bring back players because BBCAN's Casting History is amazing. I'd lean towards seeing again:

BB1: Emmett Blois
BB2: Sabrina Abbate
BB3: Jordan Parhar, Brittnee Blair
BB4: Nobody
BB5: Nobody
BB6: Olivia Riemer
BB7: Anthony Douglas
BB8: Nobody, but I feel if they did a Second Chance season we would get a few from this season given it's COVID cancelation
BB9: Kiefer Collison, Victoria Woghiern

It was exceptionally hard to limit to 4 Male and 4 Females. The Females definitely have a stronger pool to pull from.
Unfortunately not a lot of continuity between the players like BB5 had, but I simply had to include BB1-4 to get Sabrina and Brittnee back on Big Brother.
Kelsey, Mitch, Breydon and Godfrey were all on my shortlist. I would have added Demetres because I see he's still with Ika, but unfortunately her relationship with the network has soured. I remember nothing about BB6 outside loving Paras and Olivia.

I know laugh.gif

Posted by: Aaron. 4th March 2022, 02:25 AM

So this is off to an absolutely brilliant start wub.gif
I don't hate anyone, there are some good casting decisions here.
However now we have to wait until Monday for a new episode mad.gif
I may have to dip back into the live feeds again...

You might as well just stamp my stan account now: Betty
Loving: Josh, Moose
This Kyle Moore > The Other Kyle Moore: Kyle Moore
Liking: Helena, Jess, Hermon, Jay, Gino
Who: Jacey-Lynne, Marty, Summer, Tynesha
No: Kevin, Stephanie

I was not upset Melina left.
Tho, did I see the signal of an alliance with Tynesha, Kyle and Gino when casting votes? Maybe more, I may have missed a few.

Posted by: Aaron. 10th March 2022, 01:30 AM

I’m also fine with Jay going this week, if that’s what ends up happening. Honestly I haven’t dipped into the feeds at all so I’m just going off what they’re showing.

I am liking Marty, it’s nice to have an upfront player that you know isn’t going to throw comps that will actually make big moves.
I am also interesting to see where Kevin and Jess go. We will see if they can play low key for a few weeks before exploding. I’m not sure I’m convinced either will make jury. The game hasn’t really started at this point and they are easy targets.

Posted by: The Kid JOSEPH 12th March 2022, 11:19 PM

Yeah it's very early days still, hard to say much or root for anyone when it feels like so much is wide open but it's a largely likeable cast. Jay going didn't bother me hugely, Kyle HOH seems like it has the potential to be highkey messy based on what I've read about the feeds though laugh.gif

Posted by: Aaron. 12th March 2022, 11:31 PM

Yeah, a few friends I know dip into the feeds, they've said it's been juicy this week, but I haven't read the specifics. Now we just need to wait until MONDAY.

Posted by: Aaron. 15th March 2022, 01:39 AM

I feel like Kyle thinks he’s won some critical HOH in like Week 9 after a losing streak with the other side. Dude. It’s week 3.
I love how everyone who was a target for Kyle talked themselves out of being nominated by him up until Steph. She wasn’t having any of that laugh.gif

In all reality tho her outburst kinda cost her there. No doubt she could have talked herself out of being nominated as well.
It’s a pretty legendary HOH run so far if I’m being honest, that entire episode was almost all him in the HOH with various people smirking the entire time. I’m living.

Posted by: Aaron. 17th March 2022, 12:25 AM

Holy shit.
I actually don’t know what to think laugh.gif

Absolutely loving Marty tho holy. Finally someone willing to take some shots (and Kyle I guess too…?)

Posted by: Aaron. 18th March 2022, 02:01 AM

This season is just sensational. Wasn’t Gino on the outside of that vote and is now HOH?

Posted by: Klaus 18th March 2022, 09:24 PM

Again, this week showing that messy players make a far more entertaining season <3

I would have loved to have seen Betty get the HOH though, from coming last in every comp to having all the power.

I’m so confused about Kevin too, part of me thinks he is the person he keeps saying is an act. That whole conversation with Betty was so odd. ‘Keep acting like you hate me’ ‘I do hate you’ tearsmile.gif

Posted by: LMLou 18th March 2022, 10:46 PM

So far this is probably the best Big Brother season in a good number of years. It’s so messy and all over the place which is the best entertainment wise. Kyle is AWFUL, but I suppose I’m kinda glad the outsiders won HOH this week even if it means he’s staying

I just hope the likes of Gino and Jacey leave soon, they’re really not adding anything to the season at all

Posted by: Aaron. 24th March 2022, 12:15 AM

I think Marty is taking his nomination way too personally and reading way too much into Gino’s speech. However, I do understand where he’s coming from.

Did Gino not really think to look elsewhere for his nominations? Feels very personal. Having Jess and Marty on the block Week 4 kinda sucks to be honest. They’re both great players.

It’s a little weak going after Kyle to be honest, yeah, it’s what the house wants… but it’s a boring move. It may buy Gino a few weeks but unless he beasts it out I can see him as an early jury boot.

Not both Kyle’s being evicted week four laugh.gif

Posted by: Aaron. 25th March 2022, 03:23 PM

HOH Spoiler: Jess won and I’m actually pretty stoked! I think after Kyle’s messy HOH and Gino’s less than impressive HOH, I think Jess can really make some good strategic moves this week to set up their game. Not sure who their target is but I’m good with Gino/Jacey noms.

Posted by: LMLou 25th March 2022, 03:25 PM

Jess is leaning towards Hermon & Moose noms with Hermon as the target

Hermon is my fave male HM so far so not so pleased with that

Posted by: Aaron. 29th March 2022, 12:26 AM

Another messy HOH!
I’m fine with either going but I’m definitely leaning towards Moose.

I just saw the Double Eviction being announced which will not be a “normal double”. Any guesses?
My guess is a buy back for the first and second Evictees on Thursday.

Posted by: Aaron. 31st March 2022, 12:02 AM

CHAIN OF SAFETY DOUBLE EVICTION CONFIRMED!
No idea what that means but hopefully someone dispensable leaves.

Posted by: Aaron. 1st April 2022, 12:58 AM

I have to say this double eviction was off to a great start, I never really got on the Tynesha bandwagon so I was happy to see her leave. Plus it created more division!

I do love this twist, but, didn’t work well for this season unfortunately. Moose safe and starting the chain with HERMON?! he just voted you out bro. Literally the votes that kept you safe ended up at the bottom of the chain because of you.

But this twist definitely exposed a lot and I loved that. But I didn’t really like the result. I think I’m leaning on throwing my support behind Kevin, Summer and Marty. Jess really dove their game into the ground this week. Another messy HOH smile.gif!

I kinda just want Moose, Josh, Betty and Hermon to go some point soon.

Posted by: Aaron. 1st April 2022, 01:02 AM

Also: is it just me or have we not see the surviving person on the block open a door in a while?

Posted by: Klaus 2nd April 2022, 10:07 AM

I wasn’t too fussed about Tynesha leaving other than Summer & Betty losing an ally. I’m not fussed about Jess leaving either but out of the three left, I’d have much rather it was between Gino and Jacey-Lynne with JL leaving. She doesn’t bring anything to the table at all.

Keen to see Marty leave as soon as possible, his targets all seem to share a common denominator ~~

Jury starting next week means an 8 person jury unless there’s another double? If not, I guess Canada gets to have a vote?

QUOTE(Aaron. @ Apr 1 2022, 02:02 AM) *
Also: is it just me or have we not see the surviving person on the block open a door in a while?

They haven’t done it since they first announced it laugh.gif

Surely there’s more to come with the doors, and it wasn’t just for a HOH comp and Kevin to win £500.

Posted by: Aaron. 8th April 2022, 01:00 AM

This is so good, so messy. I was hoping Hermon would stay tho.
Doing very well in the ratings. #1 in its time slot last Thursday and #3 overall for the night.

My top (Kevin) and Bottoms (Josh/Betty) haven’t changed but the middle is constantly changing for me.

Triple Eviction next week.

Posted by: LouisL 22nd April 2022, 10:00 AM

This is one of the best seasons of Big Brother, probably ever. It's SO fluid with everything change from week to week. I do think it's for sure Kevin's to loose now after that triple

Betty is the new HoH so HOPEFULLY her and JL knock some sense into each other and realise who is running things

Posted by: Aaron. 22nd April 2022, 04:13 PM

VOICE OF BIG BROTHER PRODUCER
They are so extra this year. Everything, especially the Houseguests have been at a 10.
Huge gameplayers gone pre-jury, and we are left with a bunch of super floaters like BB4 (US) or BB7 (US).

It's not the best season ever for me. Last season was top tier, I don't really count Season 8, and honestly Season 6/7 blended into one blob for me. I'd put this season on par with Season 6/7.

My preference:

01) Kevin
02) Haleena
03) JL
04) Betty
05) Josh

Josh is just a huge waste of space for me. He lost all credibility for me when he was apologizing for being Betty’s friend.
That triple eviction tho, there was a moment where it could have been Gino/Marty and Kevin had Josh put up Kevin… and that single handedly would have been the best Double/Triple eviction of Big Brother history (this title currently goes to Cindy/Neda in BBCAN5).

Complete success for BBCAN this season as well. #1 Trending Topic last night in Canada on Twitter, topped #4 in US and #13 World Wide.
#3 Show Wednesday Night (behind Survivor, News).. last Thursday’s show was #2 and #1 in key demos.
But yeah, this has been massive this year. We've come so far with this show being cancelled after BBCAN5, coming back, having an entire season cancelled because of COVID.. but the last two seasons have really put BBCAN back on the map. So proud of Production, Arissa and Robyn as well.

I’d love Kevin to take this, but I’m also 100% fine with a random Betty win laugh.gif

Posted by: Aaron. 22nd April 2022, 08:22 PM

#1 Show last night in the 25-54 Demographic, up almost 100,000 viewers from last weeks eviction.

Posted by: JosephStyles 23rd April 2022, 10:01 PM

This season has been so good and we're left with such a good bunch. Kevin is so deserving of the win at this point and the fact that Josh put up Betty at the triple over Kevin or Haleena was VERY surprising but testament to their games...! Haleena at final 5 without being on the block once is mightily impressive too.

Thank god Marty's out too oop

Posted by: Aaron. 26th April 2022, 01:06 AM

That was without a doubt the most ridiculous out of this world Triple Eviction post episode. The best without a doubt. I love how production just let it play out.

I’m going back for a rewatch now. It will be a BBCAN Classic episode for sure.

Posted by: LouisL 29th April 2022, 11:11 AM

The fact that at the final 4 any of them can win is just so super exciting, we rarely have scenarios like this.
Obviously we know that Kevin has played the best game probably closely followed by Haleena but i think the jury really could go either way

I’d be happy with any of them winning at this point but I am definitely team Betty!!!

Posted by: Aaron. 3rd May 2022, 12:42 AM

I can’t believe there’s only two episodes left.
What a triumphant season. I can’t believe we have to wait another 9 months. Hopefully BBUS can deliver.

Can’t wait to try this Wendy’s breakfast laugh.gif

Posted by: Aaron. 5th May 2022, 12:10 AM

This by far is the best BBCAN Season to date.

The episode tonight and the post Triple Eviction episodes are top 5 episodes for this franchise.

I honestly don’t want it to end. A perfectly fluid season.

We need another All-Stars or 2nd Chance Season ASAP. The pool has never been stronger. Two massively epic back to back seasons. BBCAN is on a roll.

IM READY FOR BETTY TO WIN TOMORROW w00t.gif w00t.gif w00t.gif

Posted by: JosephStyles 5th May 2022, 05:52 PM

It's been such a good season and all three remaining would make good winners. I'm team Betty as well though!

Posted by: Aaron. 6th May 2022, 12:45 AM

they did not let betty play 2 hours by herself no way

Posted by: Aaron. 6th May 2022, 01:05 AM

Kudos to Big Brother Canada. Absolutely amazing season.. for me it lands in the Top 3 with Season 5 and 9 for sure.
The constant fluidity meant that I wasn't upset with a Kevin win. He absolutely gassed out the last two weeks, but losing Haleena reignited his fire.

Even tho I was pretty much rooting for Kevin all season I would have been highly impressed with a Betty win and we were so close.

Posted by: LouisL 6th May 2022, 10:53 AM

How can a season of BB be so wild and unpredictable even in the finale!?! God this is one of the best reality TV seasons in YEARS

Really disappointed in Josh tbh, he would've lost either way for sure but he knew Kevin's game soo well and knew that Kevin would kill the final question and speech so I think even without knowing what we knew concerning the jury, he should've taken Betty where he could've at least been able to talk about the fact he had quite a bit of influence over her.

I can't be mad - Kevin deserves the win so much but its just so frustrating we were one decision away from a Betty win.

Posted by: Aaron. 6th May 2022, 03:26 PM

Who do you think would win in these scenarios?:

Josh vs Betty
Kevin vs Betty

I think Betty beats Josh (obv) but I think Kevin may have beaten Betty.

Posted by: LouisL 6th May 2022, 09:15 PM

I was going to agree with you but after watching the exit interviews, Josh and Betty both said that after speaking to the jury members after the finale Josh likely would've beaten Betty if hE had taken her (I'm assuming Jace, Gino, Marty, Kev and Haleena would have voted Josh and Hermon, Moose, Summer and Canada would have voted Betty)

Obviously based on that Kevin would have beaten Betty too, although I wouldn't be shocked if like Hermon or Summer through a vote her way. Interestingly, Kevin said he was 95% sure Josh was taking him and that he would have taken Betty if he was the final HoH. WE COULD HAVE HAD OUR KEV & BETTY FINAL 2!!

Doing a BBCAN6 Rewatch before next season starts. I haven’t seen it since it first aired, despite a strong winner I didn’t have favourable memories of this season.
I don’t know why I have that memory however, I’m on the first 3rd of the season now and it’s fantastic! So much drama, backstabbing.. great evictions.. plus! The girls were RUNNING the house.

The first 2 HOHs and Evictions were awful. Terrible decisions by both. But it really picks up Week Three. I was however disappointed to lose Hamza so early. Olivia is still the unbothered Queen.

Erica unnecessarily winning everything pre-jury was jarring, but honestly one of the strongest pre-jury games we have seen.

Not a confirmation, but I think this season will either be 2nd Chance or an All Stars.

A few house photos floating around, but honestly it’s getting lost amongst the distaste for this season already. Excitement unfortunately is at an all time low.

Posted by: Aaron. 1st March 2023, 08:17 PM

Newbies!!!

Posted by: Aaron. 9th March 2023, 03:22 PM

I’m not quite sure if BBCAN has done enough to kill the franchise just yet, but I was pretty underwhelmed at that launch show.
Brilliant, amazing house.
The houseguests seem, fun, diverse.. messy perhaps.

However I think with this twist, the added importance of winning competitions and the feeds being cut - I’m not sure this franchise has created enough steam for itself to stay successful.

Cutting the Live Feeds clearly was a mistake, they’ve been clear they have zero intention in bringing this back.. they’ll have to suffer through those consequences.

Posted by: Aaron. 15th March 2023, 12:33 AM

Alright, let's dive into this disaster a bit more.
Getting rid of the live feeds was absolutely the worst call they have ever made. I don't get why they did it. We never got any explanation. I honestly thought they were building to something big (Canada vs US, All Stars) but instead, it ended up being a batch of... newbies?

BB Twitter has absolutely lost it. I wouldn't be surprise if they've had a few crisis meetings to see if there is something they should do (and if they haven't, they should). Conveniently, viewing statistics in Canada won't be as broadly available as they have in the past, so it's hard to say what the immediate impact has been.

Moving on to the show itself, it now feels very odd having this many episodes before the first eviction. Again, these houseguests seem ultra messy. And obviously, this Boys Alliance is going nowhere... Zach will be out Pre-Jury for sure.

Anika: I want to like her a lot more than I do at the moment. I hope she survives the week.
Claudia: Seems to have the right lens on approach when it comes to the game, I'm excited to see more.
JM: I love him, I really want him to survive this week.
Kuzie: QUEEN.
Roberto: Yum. For me he's the only one I like in the boys alliance.
Sanita: omg messy queen hoh. I don't know what the f*** she's doing laugh.gif this week hopefully has good long term effects.. but she can't be THAT blind to the boys and Zach, can she?!
Zach: I've met hundreds of these douchebags throughout the years. These houseguests are handling him very well! I expect he will be out Pre-Jury, unless somehow an alliance picks him up and uses him as a goat.

This has potential to be as fluid and messy as last year actually.

Posted by: Aaron. 17th March 2023, 12:16 AM

That was actually a great first eviction episode. The gameplay started early this season, although, I am disappointed with the results. JM played hard. I wish he could have pulled that off.

Posted by: Aaron. 30th March 2023, 02:05 AM

BBCAN Narrator : "Who will be left standing, after a SCANDAL rocks the house."

Whaaaat is going onnnn!!!!
This season is so messy, I can’t believe two people have already quit. PLEEEEASSSSEEE LET ZACH GO!

Posted by: Aaron. 7th April 2023, 03:10 PM

Alright this season is top tier!! Can’t believe we are already at Jury.
Let’s Go The Crown!!

Posted by: Aaron. 14th April 2023, 03:34 PM

This is becoming another Top Tier Season for Big Brother Canada. ROUGH Start. However, the gameplay this season was instant. Clear divisions and side. Very fluid, lots of back and forth between sides.
This has BB6US Potential really. My Ratings so far:

01: Kuzie: Absolute queen, smart game player, she seems to be good with almost everyone, but she's the biggest threat in there at the moment.
02: Santina: Controversial putting her in 2nd, I see her as this seasons Janelle without having the support of a large alliance. She's here to play, she's here to take out big players. She's bringing ALL the drama with absolutely EVERYONE this season. I want 'The Crown' to pick her up as a number.
03: Anika: She's been a bit of a slow burn for me but she's picking up traction for me absolutely.
04: Renee: Alright, yes - perhaps a bit high, but I do personally prefer Renee over a few others. She can't win for shit and she's on the side of the house I have distaste for - but she's playing her heart out and I respect it.
05: Claudia: She's gone up and down in my rankings week over week. She seemed at the beginning to be a solid gameplayer, but Ty really f***ed up her game big time. I respect her ending things with Ty (maybe?) but we will see if that lasts. Her story isn't the best - I'd rather Renee take it out if the winner is going to be on the other side of the house.
06: Ty: Ugh, I cannot stand this man. His runway at the beginning of this game was exceptionally strong. He had Zach, Kuzie and Santina as allies, what the f*** happened? (Zach). He has a LOT of work to correct the mistakes in his game, but I think if he can get in good with 'The Crown/Kuzie' he may last a big longer. I don't think he's a huge threat to win, but I think Kuzie may want to use him a shield a bit longer.
07: Daniel C: I cannot stand this man and the selfishness of the Veto win he had - he completely destroyed 'The Crown' by saving Ty last week.
08: Shanaya: Lol now the poster child of this season for distaste in getting Jonathan out, this could be the Jennifer/Kaysar decision of the season, completely destroying her game.

And now Kuzie joins a very, very shortlist of Black Female Big Brother Players that has won 2 HOHs in a single season. I am PRAYING WITH EVERYTHING that she pulls out a Taylor and wins this god damn season. She has the story. She has the gameplay, but she is a huge threat in there.

I'm hoping for a Renee/Claudia/Shanaya nomination this week, I really don't care who goes (I'd prefer Shanaya). But I would love to see the other side win for drama purposes. I wouldn't be upset with a Daniel C nomination next week with him going.

Posted by: Aaron. 4th May 2023, 12:08 PM

We're at the end game now and it's been a fantastic season. It didn't reach the heights of last season, but this is definitely Top 5 BBCAN for sure.
The Double Eviction was great, but, again, didn't reach the heights of last year. I'm finally ready to sign off approval of cutting the feeds if they can keep editing the show as they have been.
The Double was still juicy however. These people are MORONS for not putting Ty up Pre-Veto.. WHAT ARE THEY DOING?!

This is almost like US Season 15 where all the big players left in Jury and we were left with the most random grouping of characters at the end. If you would have told me this would have been the Final 5 at the beginning of the season, I would have called you a liar.

Even tho the Jury will be Crown heavy, I don't think Anika or Daniel would win against Ty.
However, I do think both of the girls beat Ty at the end, so at this point. This is my preference. I want Ty in the F2 and I want him to lose.

Ty's Gamę:
100% Physical
100% Manipulative
0% Social Skills

He was basically fodder for the middle part of the game because Kuzie and Claudia both wanted to keep him safe. He was never really the target at any point post-jury.
Daniel using the veto on him early in the season was 100% the most defining, game changing move this season.

Posted by: JosephStyles 8th May 2023, 07:02 PM

Ty certainly deserves it for turning himself around and managing to survive so long without any solid allies. Not sure I'm his biggest fan still but he'd be a worthy winner. I think Claudia's my top choice but I'm not convinced she (nor Anika or Daniel) is the smartest player ever. It's been an amazing season all round but Kuzie was certainly robbed! sad.gif

Posted by: Aaron. 12th May 2023, 04:31 PM

What on earth was Claudia thinking.
Renee didn’t even vote for Claudia, her only vote was from Shanaya laugh.gif

Posted by: JosephStyles 12th May 2023, 09:44 PM

Claudia's jury management was terrible, I didn't realise how bad it was until tonight...! I don't think Ty's was amazing but he at least owned his ruthless moves. A worthy winner even if I couldn't stand him initially, he was a force to be reckoned with and turned himself around in the game post-Zach.

And speaking of Zach, Vanessa's comment !!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Aaron. 7th June 2023, 01:40 PM

Global TV announcing their upfronts for 2023/24. Big Brother Canada was not on the immediate announcement, however, in the past they have been given separate announcements that have come out the same day.

Will be interesting to see if this is renewed. No insights on how well last season did without the feeds.
Edit: officially renewed!!
