Discovering, enjoying and wanting to send '18 & Over' over Christmas was the reason I chose this theme. I'd listened to other Nia Archives songs as well as some stuff on a playlist she'd put together and was still deciding whether to send it or something else when I posted the sign-up thread. 15 minutes later the song had already been taken and I felt it'd be too harsh to take it off Lewis!

I felt kinda bummed that people found the track not on theme. I personally thought it had a very clear UK garage style electronic sound. Guess my genre radar must be off then oops

Majorly miffed at Jade's song being the last on 0, that was a massive standout for me. Hope it'll pick up quickly. My own votes being next shall help ofc xx (edit: ah there we go )

I joined last week's listen through as Whitebird was playing and it was commonly speculated to be Izzy's entry, so perhaps no surprise it comes in for 12 points even if he didn't send it. Only one of the top 5 gets points here so Sully extends the lead to 12. CANVAS and Kessler move into the top 5 and Vaizo are off the bottom.

The top 2 really starting to pull away from everything else now with a fair gap between them. The chasing bunch is very close and Coco Bryce climbs 7 places with a 10 from Dr B. 'Kjarninn' was a song I had as a BJSC potential way back in the days of people sharing their potentials openly on plug.dj (remember that x), I was wondering if anyone in the SyncTube listenthrough would have somehow remembered that (particularly with what are imo some fairly distinctive visuals) and rumbled me there. But then I looked back on the Discord chat from the listenthrough and saw almost no one said anything about it apart from 'this doesn't stand out to me'. :'( Glad to have finally had a chance to send it somewhere anyway.

At least Jade did remember it although that did blow my anonymity with her on this occasion oops thank you for the 8 points anyway of course and thanks to Dim, Ansel and Kath for some other small points so far. At least I did not know Jade's entry but still gave it a medal position in return anyway! My top 2 being the 2 songs Jade tried to enter in fact *_*

Oops bottom 2 realness my heart wasn't really in it when I sent this originally, as a very last minute back-up, but after the listen-through I was reminded of why I was drawn to this song in the first place and hoped it would stand out, as one with a dark edge. A solid first half for my own entry, though looking unlikely to get a third go at hosting. My favourites not being at the top cause a bit of a shift with 18 & Over jumping to 4th from just 4 votes. Loved the vibe of the Coco Bryce track and Kessler delivering another banger nearly as good as 'Vrieselaan' (definitely an artist I need to pay attention to future releases by if possible), the first 3 songs in this contest were all absolutely killer. I actually had a vague suspicion that Coco might have been RFC's own entry, not sure why but clearly there was something to that hunch! Thanks RFC for another couple of points as well.

Propping up the table is Awardinary with the contest's 20+ year old UK Garage anthem - when picking the theme I'd hoped for more entries like this but I guess I can see why there wasn't But I'm certainly glad it was sent!

Small points to both of the top 2 mean the gap tightens by one, with another big score for Prospa seeing Want Need Love get closer to them. NCT reach the top 5 for the first time, comfortably the third most votes but lacking in big scores until now.

Well done Dobbo and thanks for what I believe is my first wooden spoon in a song contest, so it's probably overdue that I be the one to prop up the table for a change! I would have liked it if more garage music was sent but I guess I am just living in the past and D&B is really the way to go for a theme like this. Jungle didn't exactly wow me in this contest either if I am being honest, but I do appreciate it wasn't the easiest of themes for some to scramble to find entries for.

It is time once again for me to shill the Sully song that I tried to confirm - if y'all liked 'Swandive' enough for it to win then surely you'll want to hear more from Sully right?



I voted for 6 of the top 7 there so not much to complain about, particularly pleased to also see Kessler and Jasper Tygner up there! Tim Reaper still deserved better but I guess he was only 4 points off 8th place, very closely packed midtable! (I hadn't noticed Coco Bryce being so low as well, that also deserved way better).

My strategy of sending old BJSC potentials to the genre forum contests seems to almost never pay off, this is two in a row in Club Bizarre and both of them finishing in the bottom 5, perhaps I should take the hint that I never sent them to BJSC for a reason Although I'm on a pretty rotten streak in Club Bizarre in general with this being my third straight bottom 5 finish, at least I am being consistent I suppose (they've even all got almost identical points totals). Nevermind, still glad to have finally had an excuse to send this song and good to have found at least a couple of fans again. And 9 voters out of a possible 19 is pretty decent for a bottom 5 finish I suppose!

Oops continuing my poor form in Club Bizarre x Jungle and garage isn't really my type of genre and I struggled big time finding the right song for the theme, let alone a great song. Crash & Burn actually sounds surprisingly decent so glad to not finish dead last and receive a lot of points from the modern bloc. Thanks Rabbit for hosting and amazing graphics!

Hooray! well first of all thank you for all the votes for Swandive, I thought it would do decently here but certainly not winning by such a margin. Humbled to win another one of these, can I pick the next genre

Now for the Sully saga yes as RFC pointed out I submitted a Pendulum-style dumb and bass track I had floating around my potentials list but was determined to find and send a jungle entry so got hunting and had a pre-contest to whittle down my fave one. Got very lucky indeed to just nip in ahead of Brade (sorry guys!) and should have just sent Swandive on first hearing as looking back it was streets ahead of the others (bar one I might save for BJSC sometime so watch this space!)

As for the other entries it's a shame 2 of my top 3 incurred deductions especially my fave Prospa being denied a top 3! But at least it was my second fave assuming that position in the end. Most of my votes finished top 10 too yay.

He's one of the adjacent artists I found after playing a lot of Sewerslvt stuff, so right on there! Actually he's very prolific and a lot of it isn't DnB/Garage at all, going from breakcore to house to metal(!), so I may enter him again to a future song contest if I get attached to something else of his.

lol I completely missed this thanks to work

okay thoughts:
• lol @ getting 7th again that’s for sure my most common placing. Artcore regardless of the presence of any sort of mainstream EDM elements is an acquired taste so not really surprised at over half of my points coming from three people. Thanks as always for the support!
• those of you who were surprised I sent “Whitebird”: don’t be. This is another dance outfit that has produced for a DDR sister game and who I would LOVE to see in DDR eventually surprised no one clocked that considering how this is the 8th entry that is DDR adjacent? (although we did get SHINee in the contest so that kinda masked me more than usual)
• don’t really get the winner but congrats Dobbo on resuming dominance over this spin-off!
