I like the way this one flows, nice and upbeat as well, although the crowd-esque shouting secondary vocals seems a bit tacky. Also is he singing "running through your bloody veins"? Not the most eloquent of lines, lol.

Really enjoying this album so far, probably on par with his debut for me.

Early rate
08.0 Pretty Shining People (grown on me a lot since it was released as a promo)
10.0 Don't Matter Now (underrated, I didn't really get this last year but it's much better with the album)
07.5 Get Away
10.0 Shotgun (adore this wub.gif I love the production and the lyrics make it so much more fun!)
11.0 Paradise (a BOP, possibly my fav George Ezra song out of them all)
07.5 All My Love
07.0 Sugarcoat
09.5 Hold My Girl (best ballad-sort on the album, really growing on me too)
09.0 Saviour (feat. First Aid Kit)
07.5 Only A Human
07.0 The Beautiful Dream (a nice enough way to close the album but not something I can see myself coming back to much)

He's matured in sound since his debut album I think which is working out really well for him. The production on this album is really nice although the beachy/relaxing sound of Barcelona especially from Wanted On Voyage is missed a bit. I've been playing this with the acoustic version of Paradise queued up after The Beautiful Dream, I adore the original but his skill really shines acoustic and closes the album on a high note wub.gif

Just had my first listen to this. Good album to chill to. George still hasn’t disappointed me to date. Was I one of the only ones who loved "Don’t Matter Now" at the time then? Sounded great in the sun last spring/summer wub.gif

I think the problem with don't matter was lack of big promo, this time he's been absolutely everywhere on tv, he's been on every tv show, personally I think that's the difference

Haven't listened to the album in full but loved the 3 grats, particularly Saviour and Pretty Shining People

If you Google, 'George Ezra', a poll comes up to vote for your favourite song. Paradise is currently winning with 23%, followed by Shotgun with 22% and Hold My Girl with 16%.

This is a good album on first listen! I was familiar with about half of the songs beforehand as I saw him perform at Glastonbury last summer but it's been so long since his last album, I'd forgotten how good he could be. There are a few too many ballads towards the end but there are more than enough upbeat songs for him to get a couple more hits.

I definitely think he should release Shotgun as a single in the Summer, it's a fantastic song.

He should push Shotgun in Summer then go for Hold My Girl as a wintertime single
