just caught this on Radio 1 as the hottest record, it seems to be Janelle's first 'proper' single in five years
not familiar with her material beyond 'Make Me Feel' but this is sounding great! |

This is really good! Not *quite* to the highs of 'Dirty Computer' for me, but still very good in it's own right!

I keep forgetting I actually need to listen to that album in full! I might actually do it now!

Dirty Computer is my favourite album from her!
'Float' is brilliant *.* what a rousing stomper of a song. Excited for a new era from her! |

Was already a fan of this when I first heard it a couple of weeks ago but listening to it again now and it's clicking with me even more, really serving the vibes. She's an artist that I've never really paid enough attention to before (I remember really liking 'Tightrope' but that's about it) but I'm on board for this era if this is anything to go by!

Float is incredibly meh, Lipstick Lover isn’t much better on 1st listen and the track lengths on the album are horrible Damn I was so excited for a new era (and will still check out the album) but this is disappointing so far 😭

Hmm.
I should trust her and her vision but I don't like either song and the art direction is... fine. |

I’m with you on this one, not really a fan at all of either so far. :/

The transitions between tracks work really well on the album (apart from champagne shit+ black sugar beach - that should’ve just been one song) and there’s nothing bad on here… but at the same time there’s not one track where I’m like oh I want to hear that again. It’s all just very fine. Disappointing, but it could’ve been worse I guess.

14 songs and just 32 minutes?
I'm about half way through and the album is washing right over me... omg. Nothing is sticking. I still love 'Lipstick Lover' though. But I'm gonna have to see how I feel after a few more listens... |
