I love GIAW but it just wasn't as good as the other singles for me and got a bit lost amongst the new tracks when the album was released. Thanks for commenting |

2018 Re-Cap
1. Ariana Grande - Breathin Does it hold up?: Yeah, this song completely hit me on first listen and my opinion on it has not changed one bit since. This song is just perfection and should really have been a much bigger hit than it was. The chorus is a perfect portrayal of anxiety which also managed to feel euphoric and inspires confidence. The vocals on this are just as insane as ever and hearing it performed on tour was everything. A very, very, very deserved EOY #1! |

Breathin remains one of her better songs still I guess! Looking forward to getting into the chart proper anyway.

5. AJ Tracey 2019 charting songs: 02 Elastic 02 Psych Out 03 Cat Pack 03 Floss (ft MoStack & Not3s) 04 Fashion Week (Steel Banglez ft AJ Tracey & MoStack) 04 Thiago Silva (Dave & AJ Tracey) 07 Halloween (ft Young Adz) 08 Kiss And Tell (AJ Tracey & Skepta) 11 Ladbroke Grove 12 Zelda (ft SahBabii & Safe) 13 Jackpot 17 Double C's 18 Country Star Video COMMENT: Getting a top 5 place mainly through sheer quantity is AJ Tracey. Butterflies is the song that really got my attention and following it up with the bangers that are Lo(v/s)er & Psych Out established him as a favourite. But I still wasn't prepared for how much I was going to enjoy the album. Released on the same day as Thank U, Next it was always going to get overshaddowed for me but still managed to get 3 album tracks to chart behind the Ariana onslaught. A few more releases here-and-there and a expansion to the album is what guaranteed his place here. |

Ladbroke Grove really separated AJ from a lot of the other hip-hop artists around right now, absolute tune! I quite enjoyed Floss too, actually.

4. Watsky 2019 charting songs: 01 Advanced Placement 01 Feels Alright 02 No Complaints, No Conversation 03 What Goes Up 04 Limo 4 Emos 03 Sarajevo (ft Dia Frampton) (#01 in 2014) 08 Hey Asshole (ft Kate Nash) (#07 in 2014) 08 All Like Whatever (#03 in 2018) 08 Mean Ass Drunk (#01 in 2018) 08 Wounded Healer 10 Whitecaps 12 F**k It Up 12 Sloppy Seconds (#01 in 2014) 13 Welcome To The Family (#01 in 2018) 18 Whoa Whoa Whoa (#01 in 2014) Video COMMENT: I went to four concerts this year and unsurprisingly, the top 4 are all the artists I went to see. Watsky released his (very short) 5th album Complaint all the way back in January this year and while I didn't think it was his strongest, it was still a great album and produced some great tracks, mostly Mean Ass Drunk & Limo 4 Emos. |

3. Little Mix 2019 charting songs: 01 Bounce Back 01 One I've Been Missing 02 Salute 02 Think About Us (ft Ty Dolla $ign) 04 Wasabi 06 Touch (#02 in 2016) 09 Woman Like Me (ft Nicki Minaj) (#02 in 2018) 10 Reggaetón Lento (CNCO & Little Mix) (#02 in 2017) 11 Notice (#06 in 2018) 13 Strip (ft Sharaya J) (#05 in 2018) 16 No More Sad Songs (ft Machine Gun Kelly) (#02 in 2017) 18 Love A Girl Right (#03 in 2018) Video COMMENT: While they've struggled with their 3 single releases this year officially, they certainly haven't struggled here. Since I went to their tour in October they've been pretty much all I've listened to. If the year ran for a little longer they probably would have ended up at 2. I'm so excited to see them again next year during the Summer Hits tour. |

Ladbroke Grove aside, I did quite like Psych Out from AJ Tracey as well as Floss which was a real earworm! A lot of those songs I genuinely can't remember though (or haven't heard)

2. Blackpink 2019 charting songs: 01 Kill This Love 02 Boombayah 02 Playing With Fire 03 Whistle 04 Don't Know What To Do 04 Forever Young 05 As If It's Your Last 05 Stay 06 Kiss And Make Up (Dua Lipa & Blackpink) (#04 in 2018) 09 Kick It 12 Ddu-Du Ddu-Du (#01 in 2018) 17 Hope Not 18 Really 19 See U Later Video COMMENT: Blackpink become my 2nd favourite artist of the year despite only releasing 1 EP. However when that song became the 2nd longest running #1 on my chart of all-time I guess that's ok I went to see them back in May and they were incredible which led me to go back and chart every single other song they've released It's annoying that they haven't released more this year (so much so that hashtags criticising their label YG are constantly trending) but YG have said that an album is coming next year so time to get excited. |

1. Ariana Grande 2019 charting songs: 01 7 Rings 01 Boyfriend (Ariana Grande & Social House) 01 Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored 01 Don't Call Me Angel (Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey) 01 Imagine 01 Monopoly (Ariana Grande & Victoria Monét) 02 Breathin (#01 in 2018) 02 Ghostin 03 Bad Idea 03 How I Look On You 03 NASA 04 Got Her Own (Ariana Grande & Victoria Monét) 05 Thank U, Next (#01 in 2018) 06 Make Up 07 Needy 08 Fake Smile 09 In My Head 10 Bloodline 11 Bad To You (Ariana Grande, Normani & Nicki Minaj) 14 R.E.M (#09 in 2018) 19 Nobody (Ariana Grande & Chaka Khan) Video COMMENT: Nobody else was ever going to be #1 in a year where Ariana has been so prolific. She started the year off with back-to-back #1's and by releasing what is potentially her best ever album and didn't look back from there. She then embarked on a massive worldwide tour which I'm so honoured that I got to go to. The show was so amazing; her vocals are insane! I think she's earned a break now so I imagine we won't hear from her anywhere near as much next year with hopefully a massive comeback in 2021. |

Albums Chart
This year I've listened to 20 albums which makes for a nice top 20 countdown. Although I decided to rule out Ariana's 'k bye for now' & Blackpink's Kill This Love EP but they would have been 2 & 3 otherwise. 20. Earthgang - Mirrorland I really like the first and final few tracks from this album but I got bored during the middle. 19. Drake - Care Package Just a collection of tracks not good enough for a proper album. Although I do prefer some here than most of the Scorpion album. 18. Charlie's Angels: Official Soundtrack Love the Ariana songs but you can leave the rest. 17. Dave - Psychodrama Disaster & Lesley are both among my favourite songs of the year but I have no desire to go back to the rest of the album. It's good but not really for me. 16. Top Boy: Official Soundtrack Pretty solid album overall. Some great tracks from Dave, AJ Tracey & Ghetts in particular. |

Albums Chart
15. Sabrina Carpenter - Singular: Act II I love all the top 15 albums so there is no shame in ending here. This is really cute like Act I before it. 14. Mabel - High Expectations Very solid overall but has a few lulls. 13. Becky G - Mala Santa I usually struggle to listen to full albums in a foreign language but this was very easy to get through. Some really nice pop songs here. 12. Krept & Konan - Revenge Is Sweet The punchlines are still there but there's also some surprisingly deep songs too. Especially 'Broksi' and the interlude of Ramz talking about mental health and suicide. 11. Kanye West - Jesus Is King Yeah it has very basic 'God is cool!!!!' lyrics but the production is as amazing as it always is when Kanye is involved and Use This Gospel is one of the best tracks from Kanye is years. Albums Chart
10. AJ Tracey - AJ Tracey Unfortunate to be released on the same day as Thank U, Next which means I've listened to this album much fewer times than everything else in the top 10. 9. Chance The Rapper - The Big Day This got a horrible reaction from most everyone else but I really enjoyed it. Handsome & Hot Shower are massive tunes. Cue the Borat 'my wife' memes. 8. Taylor Swift - Lover I feel the same way about this album that I did about Reputation; the singles weren't the strongest the album as a whole is brilliant. I would say I do still prefer Reputation though. |

Albums Chart
7. Skepta - Ignorance Is Bliss Top album which I was listening to loads in the early summer. Maybe just slightly weaker than Konnichiwa but still some top tunes. 6. Stormzy - Heavy Is The Head Released very late in the year and is probably only beaten by Romance because it had a week less to impress. It's no Gang Signs & Prayer but there's also no weak points to this album. It just doesn't reach the same highs. 5. Camila Cabello - Romance After multiple listens I'm prepared to say it's an improvement on her debut. Not many obvious singles but tracks are still growing on me now with each listen. |

Giving 'We Go High' a listen now since you've linked it, it's actually nicer than I thought it might be! The piano riff is a really nice touch.
